Found you. Can someone point me in direction of fb meet up thread please?

Kitchen is shiny dark grey (ikea) with white and grey worktops. My favourite thing in the kitchen is probably my potato ricer. Dh cldn't understand why I'd bought it and thought it was a complete waste of money but he is now converted! Makes the best/ smoothest mash.

Anyone else having problems weaning their babies. L just is not interested! I've been trying for a week. He did eat a cube of pear on the second day, but really struggling to get anything into his mouth. Only thing he's eaten readily was a few spoons of an ella's kitchen pouch. And blw - he hasn't got a clue. He's only in the last few days started to put things into his south. Wondering if I should stop Dior a few days and then try again? He was 6mths last wed.

WhatSheSaid · 23/01/2011 02:21

Some babies take a while to get used to solids, G wasn't that bothered for first couple of weeks then suddenly got really into it. Don't worry, he'll eat when he wants to.

The fb group - I think cake sends you an invitation as it's a private group and I think she's group admin - when she is awake and sees this no doubt she can do that.

mlic hope it clears up soon (erm we are all waiting to know what hobby is sitting in your kitchen)
melissa i want a potato ricer, never heard of anyone having one though so havent taken the plunge but i will now!!
cakes i want to make my own pizza now, maybe you could make the nigel slater one on the stone and see if it tastes the same or better that before to conduct your experiment? and i am very Envy at your waffle maker when i went to florida you had to make your own and there was a gut from new york who stood next to me while i made loads for my family booming at the top of his voice, this girl makes the best waaaafles shes going to be the 1st woman to make a million opening a waffle shop in London (because every brit lives in London!!) maybe he just wanted me to make his too as he was too lazy!

Chulita · 23/01/2011 08:32

melissa he'll get there in the end, I thought Dior was your other child and was a bit Hmm at the name Grin
cake your kitchen sounds lovely! That's one thing I'm really, really picky on with the house we're looking for. If the kitchen's small it has to have room to extend cos I couldn't buy a poky kitchen! I gave my waffle maker to my younger brother and have been nagging at him to give it back for ages. We usually have chocolate or maple syrup on ours, sometimes honey.
mlic :( Ack, poor you! Pee on it :) [helpful emoticon] Sooooo, what's your hobby?
I'm not passing on your chat about pizza stones, DH has been on at me to get one for a while but I just feel it'd be more clutter in the kitchen. This kitchen is a lovely size but if the next one's tiny I can't have too much stuff.

Stac2011 · 23/01/2011 11:52

hey ladies, on the subject of kitchens mine is a galley kitchen with white cupboards, black worktop and white brick tiles. 2 people in and its full lol.

Yeah melissa he'll get there, R really didn't want food but now she loves it

Whats your hobby mlic? I'd love to be into something. I used to do calligraphy but gave the set to mil

wss its not too bad if your il's aren't with you the full 6 weeks that would be a nightmare. Have you anything planned for when they come?

cakes your waffles sound fab, what bout ice cream?

kk how was old traford? Good score.

tsc glad you had a good day. Hows the shopping trip going?

dh did you go for dinner last night?

chulita how is the house hunting going?

I was thinking of a name change, any ideas? Just think mine is boring

CakeandRoses · 23/01/2011 11:54

well....

covered in so many carpet burns it's like dh and i have been testing out every room of the house (those on my fb will have read that i fell all the way down the stairs earlier whilst carrying aurelia Shock) I fucking HURT ALL OVER but A is totally fine.

but the waffles were a success Smile banana, chocolate spread and fruit syrup being the favoured topping

laughed at your american tale memphis!

melissa potato ricer... hmm one squeeze per potato?

chulita the pizza stone isn't too bad to store as it's just the size of a large pizza so could stay in the oven or under stuff in a cupboard. it must be such a pain not knowing what your next kitchen will be like.

we've spent a fortune here on renovating and gadgets which we now find essential (e.g. the boiling water tap Hmm) but can't easily take with us and we're now in a quandary about whether/when to move Sad

Hey ladies, i'm here loitering in the shadows.

kitchenwise mine is in with the dining room and living room. It's one big long room which is basically 10 metres long with kitchen down one end dining table in the middle and living room at the other end.
sounds awful and is a pain with regards to having people over as they watch you cook and serve etc but i feel it'll be good when lo's bigger as i'll be able to see what she's up to.

cakes thanks for the tip on starry clothes i saw that m&s have some nice bits but mostly for bigger kids.

chulita i love your names for samson so much and i think samsonite's my favorite so far.

i posted on the fb thread that i'd have a go at a meet up. not scared of meeting any of you as long as you promise to talk to me as opposed to on here i talk quite a lot in rl. especially if i'm nervous you might never shut me up!!

had a bit of a shitty week as i got my smear test result back and have to go for treatment next wedsnesday for abnormal cells (i hope it's just that!) i'e had loads of abnormal results but never had to have treatment before, apparently it smells like burnt pork as they scrape/burn cells from you cervix!! cant wait for the stirrups

memphis83 · 23/01/2011 17:33

nixster hope everything will be ok for you was just going to say ive just cooked a roast PORK dinner and it was lovely at the thought of that smell i feel a bit ill now! but i did make yourshires and the rose so much i had to take a picture to show my mum!
had a shocking day, really productive as ive tried to keep busy but im having a total melt down ive really lost it cant stop crying, want me or lyndon taken away for his sanity i dont want him seeing me like this!! who is this fucking nutjob that i see when i look in the mirror? i dont like the person i am right now, trying to think positive and that when i get to meet you all i will be back to my normal self! going doctors this week going to go have a bloody long bath to try and scrub the stupidness from me! can safely say we will be sticking with one child!

Stac2011 · 23/01/2011 18:15

hugs memphis pnd is shit, its no reflection on you and not your fault. The doc will be able to help hun.

nixster its very common try not to worry, my friend had it done recently and was fine.

tsc sounds like dp has really listened to you, when will the heating be back on?

Very lazy day hear, just had dinner and watching tv. Ds is so glad to be home he says he's never going away again. Anyone done anything exciting today?

Chulita · 23/01/2011 18:54

nixter Ack! hope it's a whole lot better than you think, good that they can get you in quite quickly though so you don't have to dwell on it for too long. The good thing about S's names is they actually sound like his real name unless L's which are a bit more random :)

memphis [hugs] from us. I hope the bath soaks away your worries. From what I've 'seen' of you on here you're a lovely mum who cares so much about her little boy. Lyndon's very lucky to have you and things will get better. Chin up chick!

tsc lol @ being disappointed at getting dressed...I like your [complete lack of] style Grin

stac I can't help with your name I'm afraid, I've kept the same one since I joined :)
House hunting isn't going so well, we need to get back up to Chester to have a look at some more but DH has a leave ban on at work so we can't go anywhere :( I might have to go without him cos we don't really want to wait til July!

WhatSheSaid · 23/01/2011 19:47

Memphis hang on in there, it's not your fault you're feeling lke this, it will get better. You're not stupid or a nutjob, you're doing a great job. It is hard work sometimes.

Nixster yep I know a couple of people who've had the laser treatment, good to get it dealt with now, still scary, thinking of you.

tsc ooh was your musician ex anyone famous?

wow three parsnips tsc! go frankie!

memphis I echo tsc's advice - you're doing a fab job, i promise. hang in there.

we have a poorly little boy this evening - he's sleepy and a bit feverish and just wants cuddles. Not sure what's up, possibly teething. hope it's not yet another cold. he's smiling right now while his dad plays guitar to him so that's good!
