morning all,

A seems to going thru another (or the same) growth spurt - i've never known her so hungry. I feel like i've got a hangover i'm so dehydrated as i can't seem to drink enough to counteract it.

ah well, the upside is she must be burning up the calories so i'm justifying 2 slices of cake a day Smile Happy days

Hello melissa, things sound tough there. i know it can be hard to find the time but keep posting (if it helps) even if just to let off steam/talk about how you're feeling - there's no pressure to keep up with all our very important inane chatter about sweets and mashed potato! All of us have gone thru phases of just posting what a crap time we're having and not much else.

chulita L's skin sounds awful, poor mite Sad have you/the docs looked at the diet angle re L's skin? esp dairy as S is intolerant to it?

Right, i need to feed A then haul my arse out of bed for my hair appt. Luckily the hairdresser is about 30 seconds walk from me so i don't have to rush too much.

Having friends round for a chinese tonight to celebrate Chinese New Year Smile Need to see if I can buy some of those red envelopes to put a little present in for everyone. Plus print off this year's horoscope for year of the rabbit for each of us.

Have a good day y'all. Catch up later...

how did the 'culture trip' go tsc

had a nice child-free couple of hours this morning as i went for my haircut then because dh had taken F & A to the cinema, I went for a quick bit of shopping and a cup of tea while I was waiting for them to finish. Then had a nice lunch at the tearooms.

Just got back home to put F down for a nap. Day 2 of the new 'letting him chill out and read in his bed for ten' routine before I go in and tell him to go to sleep.

Christening went really well, I was feeling a lot better by then, thankfully.

I'll stick some pics on Fb at some point.

G has her 2 bottom teeth and I think a top one may come through soon, there's been lots of dribbling, chewing on things and nappy rash.

DesperateHousewife20 · 06/02/2011 09:33

Omg poor Amanda Holden, I must admit Ive never really been a fan of hers but I wouldnt wish this on anyone :(

She lost her baby boy at 7 months gone.

hey all,

yes, it has been unusually quiet here.

mlic i'm pathologically envious of anyone's babies with teeth too.

re doing your own business - sounds a great idea. my friend (with two the same age as ours) has recently started a business from home doing those baby keepsakes (fingerprints in silver jewellery and foot and hand casts). she seems pretty busy with it already.

i'm thinking about doing my own thing too, especially if i could get a good payoff from work to help with set-up costs. tis obviously a risk tho, walking away from a good and very flexible job.

wss so pleased christening went well. how're you feeling now?

tsc doesn't it just constantly feel like there are gaps in their wardrobes with young children?especially with a boy and a girl as we both have. feel like i'm constantly on the lookout for something for one of them.

think our day will be much like yours today minus the beef Grin. had a lovely night with our friends over for chinese NY so planning a quiet family day and a roast today.

right off to cook waffles with blackberries and blueberries for the boys and cherries for the girls (i'm hoping that cherries won't affect A like berries do) plus numerous sauces for everyone Smile

very sad about amanda holden. Can't imagine what she's going through.
Tsc is there any celeb you haven't crossed paths with?! still waiting on that news btw! enjoy your day. Its nice to do stuff together.
Cakes your waffles sound lovely minus the cherries!
mlic do you have any idea of anything you could do? i'm always racking my brains to think of something but never can!
Wecome back memphis! glad ya enjoyed yourself! how was last night?
Had a scrumptious dinner last night made by dp! would love it again today! fillet steak on half a ciabatta with mushrooms, little bit of cheese and pepper sauce and homemade oven chips..yum!!! he was very proud of himself!
Our bloody heating oil has gone again. Wr put 485 euro on at the start of december. Can't believe it. Half thinking of going up the north and buying loads of drums as it'll work out so much cheaper

CakeandRoses · 06/02/2011 12:15

so awful for amanda holden Sad

my (step)-nephew Harry has just come out of hospital and is home, right as rain after being born at 31 weeks - so was around the same no of months as her son. really made me think.

your day sounds lovely tsc. its things like that which make us wish we lived in a city. we don't live far from london but it's further than you'd go without planning it.

DesperateHousewife20 · 06/02/2011 13:20

Another poorly baby here too, runny nose and eyes, sneezing etc.

We're having a lazy afternoon, going to watch Shrek the 3rd soon.

Dylthan · 06/02/2011 15:22

Just come back from the emergency dentist I'm in agony Bethan slept really well last night she was only up at 12 and 4 but I couldn't sleep because I was so sore Sad

Anyway turns out it's not my tooth but my sinuses. Didn't stop him numbing my mouth though I think he was a bit trigger happy with the drill he only stopped to take an x-ray because I said that the offending tooth had already had a root canal.

So he's given me some antibiotics I really feel like shit and dh has been called out to do a grit Sad

Stac2011 · 06/02/2011 16:16

kkfairybrains · 06/02/2011 16:30

that's the way to do it memphis! i'm the same as that. once i'm out you can't get me home! nights out are precious so ya gotta make the most of them!
dylthan poor you! makes you so irratable too. did you get painkillers too? can't believe it's cold enough for a grit!
having a pretty lazy day. cooked dinner and showered and that's about it!
sitting here now watching ellie clapping her hands she looks so adorable. and she's sitting up in the middle of the floor watching the football!

memphis83 · 06/02/2011 17:14

kk indeed! i said what? the burger stop...is it just a pit stop or the end of the night, then said bugger that and walked off into the night!!! the girls i went out with were my friends that ive made since i met dh, his mates gf's and mates, im not going out with them again all down vodka, pissed by 9 then home at 1!! all my usual mates are lads i will stick to going out with them at least they make a proper night of it and dont spend half an hour going for a pee in 2's and 3's Grin
im having lazy day too, just made lasagne so about to tuck in soon!!!

Dylthan · 06/02/2011 17:35

No painkillers from dentist.

I phoned nhs 24 to get the appointment and they asked what painkillers I was taking so I said paracetamol and ibuprofen and the dental nurse told me to stop taking the ibuprofen as I'm breastfeeding but I'm sure the midwives gave me ibuprofen when I had mastitis Confused

The dentist did tell me to get some inhalation stuff from the pharmacy while putting in my prescription and the pharmacist gave me sudafed tablets Confused

You wouldn't think I work in pharmacy Grin I much prefer being on the other side of the counter Grin although in my defence I haven't worked in community for years and have instead been working in an aseptic dispensing unit making cytotoxic's and TPN.

kkfairybrains · 06/02/2011 17:56

It drives me mad when you go for a pee witg someone and they insist on fixing all their make up when there's absolutely nothing wrong with it!
Paracetemol prob won't touch the pain if it's sinus. Solpasinus or something like that may ease it?
