tsc you should definatly go to the bf group. It would be good to clear the air if your feeling like this rather than letting it fester.

chulita and stac thanks your right it was an easy mistake to make but still... Blush although chulita I have never had an urge to pop a spot so badly I've had to do it in someones wing mirror Grin but it has made me feel better thinking about it.

Chulita · 04/02/2011 14:02

I've not done it either (yet)

cake those days are horrible aren't they, when you just don't like being a mum. Thankfully usually if one's being a pita the other's being adorable so they tend to cancel each other out!

Woodlands · 04/02/2011 14:43

sounds like a crappy day tsc. hope you managed to get some food into them.

i went to ikea and j fell asleep in the car seat after lunch and a bf. great. but then he woke up the second we got home so now have him boobysnoozing on my lap. great, i cant get on with anything... will have to mn instead!

Chulita · 04/02/2011 18:18

oh cake, the magic goo works really well :) only downside is that a small 30ml pot lasted just over 2 days cos L is covered in eczema at the mo, at £7 a pop it's expensive magic! But we're still trying to get on top of this last outbreak and have had a private referral to a dermatologist since the NHS can't get their act together Angry

HotGiggity · 04/02/2011 19:18

I am indeed 'in' and it was all the babies that took my breath away, my own most of all Grin.

Went to PiL's this avo as J is teething and moaning and generally being a bugger and I was tired. Got there and FiL said 'So did you just fancy a break then?'

It irritated me, partly because it was true, but mainly because of the tone he said it in, like I shouldn't need a break...it's not even like I left J there with them, I did all the feeding and nappy changing, all they did was play with him....hurrumph.

Then MiL said they had bulk bought us some kitchen towel so that 'I can wipe down the windows when I like...' It's part of a whole other saga, but who 'likes' to wipe down windows? Is all the other cleaning I do somehow not enough because I don't shine the windows?

I try not to moan about PiL as they are wonderful and like surrogate Parents (actually better than my own in a lot of ways), but sometimes he things they said just set my teeth on edge.

mlic that is a bargain indeed. I love it when things like that happen. I think the last time it happened to me was buying some clothes in mothercare it was only a couple of pound that was taken off when it scanned but it still made my day and gives me warm fuzzy thoughts remembering it Grin

Our mothercare is crap at pricing things. There is either no price on the majority of items or it's just compleatly the wrong price when you get it to the till. Angry

CakeandRoses · 04/02/2011 20:11

god Wine o clock indeed, tho i've actually had a reasonable day and can safely say i love and like both of my two at once today for a change Smile

chulita what a shame re magic goo. is is literally eczema all over of v dry skin and eczema? if it's the latter then i'd reserve the goo for the eczema bits and use a v intensive moisturiser for the rest. if it;s the former then i can see why the cost is a problem. perhaps try treating an area at a time? it's honestly like magic - once an area is healed, as long as you stop it getting dry again then you don't seem to constantly need to put the goo on.

also, worth asking if you can get it on prescription. prob can;t but worth mentioning it to them that there is something that exists that bloody works instead of the useless crap they peddle.

my friend's dd was registered with a nhs skin clinic in the end and they found that the most helpful in terms of tips to maintain her skin (still couldn't clear it til the magic goo tho). worth asking if they have one in your area.

will post properly later as i need to get dinner on now.

Just catching up with human planet on the sky planner (did any one watch it) and the women in it were breastfeeding their pet monkeys Shock they hunt and eat the adult monkeys and if any babies are left behind then they look after them like their own children (they never eat their pet monkeys) it's actually really sweet watching them look after them but the thought of having a monkey attached to my boob makes me feel a little queasy.

MelissaM · 04/02/2011 21:15

Hi all. Just a quick check in to say I'm still here. Having a rubbish week, and struggling to catch up with the weeks postings (along with everything else!)
Hope ur all ok.

Sorry to hear about the accident dh

tsc sorry u've had probs with someone. Haven't read the details yet as only managed to go back 3 pages (ur a chatty lot)

Glad some are having better nights. Met some friends earlier and one recently had a night nanny come in to bootcamp her 7 mth old. He wld only sleep in his mum or dads arms and is now sleeping 7 to 7 (and still bf).

Right off to bed to try to get some sleep although sounds like the gales have just hit here so not sure how successful that going to be. Wine

hello everyone, we are back!!! had a fab time, didnt want to come home infact, spent all afternoon getting everything washed and aired! and trying to catch up on here!! weather was lovely sunny and crisp how i like it til last night and i looked out of window the forest is bent over double in the wind, not the time you want to be in a forest cabin!!! we swam everyday its helped L no end with his movement he is like a frog and has the right motion for swimming, he is now so close to crawling and he rolled over a lot this week so thats made me feel a bit better. but his teeth are driving him and me nuts they are still no where to be seen, and he squeals constantly not for any reason but to make me go loopy it is constant unless he was in the water or being kept busy with stupid faces how do i make it stop??!! needless to say with no swimming pool next door to stop him tonight he had a very very long bath :)
dh is out tonight im out with the girls tomorrow bought a dress but think with the wind i need to re think! feeling a bit better about things, ive ate eclairs and drank wine with my friend tonight and bought cakes for the weekend as the diet starts monday i had to buy a rediculously expensive costume in centerparcs as i took a bikini and although my boobs are the same as pre Lyndon i looked like a porn star, not great at a family pool and i bought a costume that i didnt try like an athletic one that flattens boobs so it looked like i had 2 flat dinner plates down my top!!!
sorry for long post thats self indulgent i have read so many pages i cant hardly keep up!!!

CakeandRoses · 05/02/2011 00:13

welcome back memphis. missed you Smile sounds like you had a wonderful time and it was just what you needed.

you're not alone, most of us are being driven mad by teething babies at the mo.

i think one of the upsides of having two children is that you can delegate baby entertainment duties to the toddler! F's got 'showing the baby how to crawl' and 'make the baby laugh' down to a fine art now Grin

only just realised how late it is - dh and i were chatting away on the sofa about what we're going to do if/when next door sell their house this year (likely). it's an amazing house but would be mega money and needs tons of work (tis even older than our 400 year old house). anyway, F's just woken up with teething so dh has gone up and i've just seen the time Shock

best get the house locked up and get ready for bed/late dream feed.

hair cut tomo - wooohooooo!

i wouldn't be able to delegate to a night nanny. i can't even manage to switch off for a night when dh says he'll handle the non-feed wake-ups. the idea is nice tho!

cake at the mo it is actually eczema everywhere except her face. We're back on steroids now, I've avoided them for nearly a year but it's so bad we just can't get around them. Once this has knocked it on the head I'm going to do what you suggest.

I had a friend in Dorset who's a night nanny, she's lovely but I don't reckon she'd drive up here to help with S.

Ack, got to go, we have tears!

memphis glad you had a lovely time :)

HotGiggity · 05/02/2011 09:13

We're going to The Playfarm today. I'm a little excited and little bit scared. Don't really do baby orientated things, only been to baby group twice...
