kk i dont even take a scrap of make up or a brush out with me, after 10 shots and a lot of rum i wouldnt trust myself to re do make up!!
tsc good on clara getting involved Grin
Lyndon had screamed for ages hes finally giving in now ive wedged his mattress up so he can breath easier tonight, i hope he sleeps!!

HotGiggity · 06/02/2011 19:29

Dylthan I've taken Ibuprofen whilst bfing, and I'm sure it's fine. The MW gave me paracetamol and ibuprofen in hospital cos I had bad afer pains. Also took it when I had a blocked duct.

I did get told off by the pharmacist for buying it, but I think it's a case of them wanting to be safe not sorry.

The NHS seems to think it's all ok

Stac We didn't get there in the end, went and bought a sofa instead Grin

Dylthan · 06/02/2011 19:44

hot I know I don't understand it but the nhs direct nurse must of had that information her exact words were you must stop taking the ibuprofen immediately it can't be used while your bf Confused

I asked the pharmacist when I put in my prescription but she was about as much use as a chocolate teapot I think because she'd already looked up whether it was safe to take to sudafed (which I didn't even ask for) she couldn't be bothered to look up about the ibuprofen Hmm

My mouth was also numb and sore and I was slurring my words because of this so I think she just wanted me out of her shop Sad

Woodlands · 06/02/2011 20:00

ibuprofen is definitely fine when bfing, which is good as it works far better on me than paracetamol. i really missed it while i was pregnant.

poor you though, hope you can get some antibiotics soon.

CakeandRoses · 06/02/2011 20:03

dylthan ibruprofen is fine whilst bf. the reason idiot doctors etc get confused is that you can't take it in pg because it carries a risk of inducing miscarriage/early labour. so as long as you're not pg, you're ok!

have you tried inhaling vicks/olbas oil in steam? you need to do it several times a day. worked well for me when i had painful sinuses over new year.

tsc sounds shit thought-provoking

when you starting to bootcamp frankie's arse?

nods sagely at kk and memphis regarding annoying women touching up their makeup in the loos on nights out Grin

mlic L was awake when i got in, and then was up again at 6 but i just told dh to take him downstairs!!!
cake this was beyond stupid they were in loo for 40 mins at 1 point, one of my mates was so bored waiting she fell asleep on the sofa in the toilet! she was so pissed she took her stupidly high shoes off walked through an alley which was covered in urine, classy girls this lot!! i was the youngest i was supposed to be the imature drunk!!!

Dylthan · 06/02/2011 20:47

Thanks everyone I've just taken some ibuprofen after everything you've said and dh telling me to and it's starting to ease slightly.

cakes vicks/olbas I think that's exactly what the dentist wanted me to get from the chemist but they gave me those bloody sudafed tablets instead which kind of helped but then I started to get shooting pains in my jaw after taking them Confused and I'm definatly not pg thank Christ so no worries there.

I also do not take make up out with me on a night out, and instead opt to stand in a darkened corner Wink

kkfairybrains · 06/02/2011 20:48

ha ha cakes! i just don't see the point of going out if you're going to spend half the night in the toilet doing your make up! there is precious drinking/fun time being wasted!
this house is ridiculously cold. i'm sitting here with my big puffy coat on. trust my luck for the bloody oil to go on a saturday Angry

CakeandRoses · 06/02/2011 20:56

brrrr kk, nothing worse than being cold. snuggle up and drink hot chocolate

dylthan have you got any kind of natural decongestant oil in the house? e.g. eucalyptus, peppermint, carvol? just chuck a few drops into a bowl of boiling water and hover above it, face down with a tea towel on your head. If you don't have any oil then do it any as the steam alone will help.

eating raw onion is supposed to be good too. perhaps try tsc's 'recipe' Hmm

as son as you relieve some pressure from your sinuses they should start to feel better.

Dylthan · 06/02/2011 21:00

Oh no kk do you have any electric heaters? It's fecking freezing here I wouldn't be able to cope without any heating.

Dylthan · 06/02/2011 21:06

I've just suggested the raw onion to dh who's informed me that he won't be sleeping in bed with me tonight if I give it a go.

And I don't like salad cream so that rules out tsc's "recipe"

Such a shame Wink

kkfairybrains · 06/02/2011 22:15

Ok dr cake Grin
dylthan i have 2 heaters and i lent them to a friend when their house got flooded and she never gave them back and now when i need them i don't bloody have them. She wont be around until tuesday either so thats no good to me

WhatSheSaid · 06/02/2011 22:43

Can I have a GRRRR about my in-laws?

They are very critical, I always forget how much til they are here. They have a weird attitude to food, almost over-aware and obsessed about not eating too much, mil is constantly on a diet despite being very slim...anyway, A has a great attitude to food, we are really relaxed about food, nothing is off-limits, some things are for just "now and again", biccies, cakes etc. She is a fantastic eater, will try pretty much anything. I have always been of the opinion that the less fuss you make with kids re food the more relaxed and happy everyone will be.

So after having her breakfast at 7.30am she asked me (note, asked me, not them) at 9.30 for some watermelon, to which step-fil jumps in with "Oh no, I think you've had enough, eyes bigger than your stomach" Angry. So of course I got her a huge bowl of watermelon and proceeded to talk about how much A loves fruit. Don't want her picking up their attitude to food when we are so relaxed normally. Hardly like she asked for a bag of sweets or something, it was watermelon. Strangely, he didn't see his own grandkids in the UK for quite a while as his ds and dil got a bit sick of them - odd that.

OK, rant over, there may be a few more to come, they're here for weeks yet...

CakeandRoses · 06/02/2011 22:43

right, while i remember, here's a few random questions i've been meaning to ask:

when i asked my last lot of mind-numbing Qs re drying clothes, a couple of you said you tumble dry your bedding, towels and underwear. why underwear?

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 06/02/2011 22:46

wss you're totally justified in that rant. i'd be raging. nice one on getting her a huge bowlful.

don't get mad, get even....

OP posts:
WhatSheSaid · 06/02/2011 22:47

Oh yeah, and ibuprofen is fine when you're bfing. Apparently sorts out loads of cases of mastitis as it's anti-inflammatory.

WhatSheSaid · 06/02/2011 22:53

OK, your qu's cake

No period here yet, came back about 7mo with A (in middle of 12-hour plane trip Hmm)

No tumble dryer here.

Scar's looking fine, white and thin, it is in exactly the same place as first one, still got some overhang though Blush

Haven't left G whole day or night yet as she won't take a bottle, could try milk in sippy cup now though, haven't expressed for ages. Once she is in bed 7-ish she usually goes through til about 3 so I'm going to go out and see a couple of films soon.

CakeandRoses · 06/02/2011 23:08

wtf is going on with aurelia at the mo? she only seems to be going 2 -3 hours between feeds, day or night Angry

in fact, it's often: day = 3 hours and night = 2 hours

OP posts:
kkfairybrains · 06/02/2011 23:09

Oh god wss that would piss me off no end. FRUIT!!! Its annoying me and i don't have to suffer them! looking forward to more tales!!
I don't bf so have period back ages. I tumble dry everything as it leaves stuff soft! and i've left E a few times including a full weekend when i went to london/portsmouth and i have to say it was finem was dreading it but it was brill and i hope that doesnt make me sound crap!
This madam will not sleep tonight or all day today. She's in the bed with us now and just will not/can't go over. Don't know what's on her today

WhatSheSaid · 06/02/2011 23:19

He is also going round the house, wiping imaginary marks off the walls.

And they told my 3 yr old she had a "big fat tummy" (you can see her ribs).

Sigh

Stac2011 · 06/02/2011 23:45

omg wss what an idiot, good on you ignoring him. How soon till they go away?

cakes had periods ages as not bf but they are mega heavy. C-scar has healed great still have overhang and its numb but i assume thats normal. We have left r overnight a few times

mlic thats great he's been fine with the dairy makes life easier

Has anyone been using baby vitamins?

CakeandRoses · 06/02/2011 23:56

wss "big fat tummy* wtf?! Angry what did you/dh say to him?

she is soooo gorgeous - how can he not just see that and be happy with it?

Re c-sec. i don't have any overhang - do you think that's due to the misaligning scars? Confused

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 06/02/2011 23:57

it sounds like i'm being a bit precious about leaving A for the day then....

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 07/02/2011 00:03

oh and another Q - is A officially the thread's baldest baby?

i think she's actually balder than the infamous baldy tinynewbornson of tsc Grin
