Wss i gave her calgel after that and diny seem to do any good. I eventually got her to sleep after much crying and shevhad a good nap and has geen better since. Was close to tge end of my tether earlier. And dp has football training this eve so im not even gonna get a break.
Tsc only had a chance to read a little bit of your thread and fwiw it would drive me mad hearing somethibg like that too. I probably wouldn't go to her door but that's because i hate confrontation but maybe at group the next time just mention it in passing. Not really a nice whisper to be doing the rounds.

DesperateHousewife20 · 01/02/2011 18:22

arggh - got both children out of bed with teething pain now. A's in the sitting room with me and dh has just taken F up to our bed with him (we've got the open fire going and are paranoid about F being down here as we don't have a guard at the mo), can hear him roaring away up there as he wanted to stay snuggled up on the sofa with me.

dh is in leeds tomo evening so i'm going to both of them all day and evening by myself.

What utter JOY!

OP posts:
Needle · 01/02/2011 23:33

Urgh. Misery. G has screamed with teathing pain all evening, dh and I had a row last night and I am still in the grip of full on macaron obsession.

Does anyone else's dp have a thing about other men holding their baby? Mine goes mental if he sees pictures of other men holding gwen- not family, but other friends and stuff. We had a huge row about it last night because he saw a photo of my friend callum holding her- I didn't even know the picture was there.

cake in response to your survey G is 6 months old, rolling both ways and sitting. One tooth, has dropped perhaps one BF per day.
She responds to dh and I- she says "dada" when she sees him, but she sometimes says "dadadadadadad" so i'm pretty sure she just likes the noise.
Special talents: she has her own dance move, its called The Gwiffle. It's a lot like the pelvic thrust, but with more giggling and some foot stamping.
Sleeping through? Nowhere near.

How is everyone? I'm sorry I don't get in here as often as I used to, my laptop is broken and its such a faff typing on my phone!

WhatSheSaid · 01/02/2011 23:38

Sounds like lots of us having teething probs at moment. Managed so far today with Bonjela but will crack open the calpol if needed. (Don't think we have that anbesol stuff over here).

Needle, no my dh doesn't mind other men holding dd. Well, obviously, it's just friends, I don't hand her round to random men Smile

Woodlands · 02/02/2011 09:00

urgh. James went to sleep at 7pm last night, then woke up at 9.10, 12.30, 2 and 4, and had to be fed each time. DH keeps wanting to try to settle him without milk but his crying sounds so loud in the middle of the night and I just want to get back to sleep asap. At the 4am feed I brought him into bed with me and fed him lying down, then shifted him to a more comfortable position in our bed, and he then slept till DH got up at 7.30. So tonight I might try having him in bed with me after the first wake up to see if he'll sleep longer that way.

At least I was able to fall back to sleep instantly again each time now!

sorry to hear about all the teething hell.

HotGiggity · 02/02/2011 09:07

I had to crack open the calpol yesterday, when Jacob did finally let me look in his mouth, I felt really sorry for him.

His first top tooth is coming in and you can see it bulging under the skin Sad. Ended up giving him baby rice last night as he wanted to end but couldn't bear to bite anything.

Stac2011 · 02/02/2011 09:28

R sleeps better with us woodlands think she got used to it when she was ill. I had to stop giving R night feeds as she was just waking out of habit.

hg this teething lark is a nightmare. I bought anbesol at the weekend, fab stuff

tsc i read your thread and I would be angry at this. When I was at college a friend told me I was an alkie (as a joke) and I took it hard as my mum was an alcoholic. I like cakes idea of saying at the group rather than going to her door as that could be intimidating and maybe worsen the rumors.

Wet, crappy day here so staying in. What you all up to?

HotGiggity · 02/02/2011 09:38

Stac I've got some calgel which seems to be useless, some Ashton & Parson Teething Powder, which once in his mouth seems ok for a little while, but it seems only calpol takes the edge off it properly...

I'm looking at the baby swim suit thingy, I wondering if it's worth getting a changing mat as well, and now I'm trying to figure out if I can only take DS swimming in the parent and toddler slots or if we could go on normal swim slots...

kkfairybrains · 02/02/2011 09:57

Wss i'm just going to pass on a bit of info that i heard. I do a dental hygeinists' hair and she told me a few weeks ago when ellie was teething to not use bonjela as it actually burns the gums and hardens them. There's some ingredient in it that feels as though it's tingling and.numbing and its actually burning and can make it harder for future teeth to come through. Although i don't know is it the only thing that's available there?
Hope your night got better after that cakes
mlic did you try tge regular formula yet?
I have so much to do today and it's not looking like i'll get anything done as i couldn't bring E out in that weather. Still no shopping done.
There was defintely something up with my liitle lady yesterday. Ahe goes to bed at 8 every night and went diwn fine last night and tgen was up again at 9 until 11. Had to get her up from the cot and bring her down and she just played and done a huge poo- 3rd of the day- and went back at 11. it must be teething but i still can't see any sign of any on top.
What am i going to do for bloody food today?! could do with leaving her to tge childminder for a half day as i have to tax the car and all that kind of crap too but really can't afford it this week

Stac2011 · 02/02/2011 10:24

kk i was told that about bonjela too. Could someone sit with ellie till you go shopping?

hg the powders gave her the trots lol. The calpol is great isn't it

kkfairybrains · 02/02/2011 10:31

Stac there's nobody around! everybody is working! Usually i'd ask the woman across the street if i had to pop to town for something but it will take a long time to do all i have to do so don't want to ask her!

This is what I love about this thread... Not clara's shit but the fact you're never alone in having a bad day or night.

Have so had enough of my two this morning. A up most of the night with teething and v upset again this morning, she often won't even feed. F being disgraceful. I can't even remember what I usually like about him. Have avoided hitting him with every last bit of willpower and patience I have altho I didn't remove him the bed very gently when he bit A on the leg just when she'd finally calmed down enough to take a feed.

Supposed to be going to felix's music class later followed by tearooms with a friend but will have to see how awful they are by then.

OP posts:
Needle · 02/02/2011 12:04

Night from hell here. G up five times and spent the night in our bed and so I've had no sleep.

Do any of you have problems with their nappies? I've tried so many and I just can't find one that will contain G's poo. We're on about 4 outfits a day here

Stac2011 · 02/02/2011 12:07

kk i've just realised dp has took the bank card again so i am using that as an excuse to stay in, would be mad if i had loads to do

tsc what a nightmare. Going for a nose on your thread now

Aw cakes you must have been livid that he bit A. Maybe getting a out will let you calm down and maybe tire him out
