Well that gives them all of about 14 day's worth of chat to get crawling then Hmm

woodlands A has a repertoire of raspberries too. she does the cutest ones when being changed so i have to keep stopping to kiss her Smile

like tsc's F and kk's E, she's a very easy smiler and giggles at EVERYTHING so of course it makes me think i'm hysterically funny, til i try my skills on another baby and they don't even crack the tiniest smile Hmm

spirael can M pick the macaroni up well? does she scoop a handful and chuck it in or has she mastered the pincer grip already?

oh and tsc, no talking here yet. Jealous of your dada and mmm! F 'spoke' early (will have to check when) so maybe she won't be long.

nixster28 · 01/02/2011 09:53

We've had dada's for a few weeks here which goes to show it definitely doesn't mean daddy as she's not likely to hear that word very often tho he was chuffed when i told him she says it.
she's just started on the mummum's and we've had a few yeah's to go with her nodding and shaking her head which is her new favorite passtime.

Dylthan · 01/02/2011 10:00

Oops sorry I'm on an iPod touch and it's a bit hit or miss with the copying Blush

Specialist skill/s:
she is always smiling and has the most beautiful giggle. She babbles away quite happily she always has something to say and already she is perfectly capable of wrapping her daddy round her little finger by just giving him one of her cute little looks. On the other hand if Dylan takes a toy off her she can throw a very impressive tantrum I think she's going to be a little madam when she's older I know I was Wink

Celeb she is most like:
Someone who is mainly laid back and chilled but does hold some diva esque qualities. Not sure who that would describe but I'm sure it will apply to someone Smile

HotGiggity · 01/02/2011 10:10

Baby age:
6.5 months

Dropped any milk feeds yet:
Yes, but not the one I wanted. Dropped the 11pm dreamfeed...but not a night feed.

Eating much:
I think so, has 3/5 BLW meals a day, seems to be best at lunch. HE takes forever and often loses interest in the middle but then will go back an eat more.

Sleeping thru the night:
Sleeps more than 5 hours but at the wrong end of the night...will go at least 8-1 every night, but from then on it's hit and miss. Also is not a reliable daytime napper.

In her room:
Technically yes, as we have now been evicted from our room to the front room Sad

Rolling both ways:
He can, but prefers to roll right, will roll across the entire living room, and then shuffle round and roll back

Sitting unaided:
Yes, doesn't need cushion. Has a couple of face plants a day because he is constantly getting into a crawling position from sitting.

Crawling:
Had a few shuffles and can generally go backwards. Doesn't go more than a foot before getting frustrated and having a tantrum.

Who does she recognise (other than you):
Obsessed with Daddy, he can apparently fix anything. Is also a fan of Nanny (MiL). He's not fussed by strangers, just susses them out for a minute or so and is then quite happy to sit or play with them.

Specialist skill/s:
Dramatic poops, raspberries, willy shivers, turning on his mobile, cat grabbing

He can also manage MmmmaaaahhhhhMah, but only when he's upset. I think it's too guilt trip me. And we're on the 3rd tooth in as many weeks, I'm just about ready to pull my hair out.

Stac2011 · 01/02/2011 11:02

chulita your right that ds is to old to share, my sis is 10yr younger than me and i couldn't have friends in etc as she would be sleeping. Scotts mum is the youngest of 13 all of whom lived in a 3 bedroom flat lol

The sitting on her own, she doesn't need the pillows as she can sit unaided they are just there incase she dives. I have started putting her on a duvet with toys so if she falls its not sore or give friction burn lol

tsc Envy of your dada and mmmm. R says mmm when being fed and says what sounds like hiya but other than that its loads of babbling

kkfairybrains · 01/02/2011 12:33

E has been saying dada for ages but i thought she was just saying it and not knowing what she means. and she's always saying nana and the odd mummmumm. since she started babbling i've always said hiya to her and she copies me! also on the waving thing my granny is convinced she waved at her the other day!
cakes i find that too with other babies!! the funniest thing with her giggling is if there's people here and we're talking and we laugh at something, she starts laughing too which in turn makes us laugh more!
ooh another specialist skill is she can change the channels and the language on the telly!!
rash is well calmed down today. still there but not as angry looking. so i'm just going to presume its teething or something.
another pound off at slimming world today! couldn't believe it as i had a lot to drink n sat night but then i stuck to it mostly the rest of the week. chulita i have dp doing it with me too and he loves it aswell. mostly because everything that you would usually eat and like, there's a way to adjust it to slimming world style so you really don't feel deprived!

CakeandRoses · 01/02/2011 12:43

right, does this sound like something to worry about/take A to docs for?

We've just slept most of the morning together and woken up and she's very unhappy.

She's been miserable off and on since Sunday night. She's bf fine, will sleep but has periods of trouble.

She's not crying, just grunting and groaning with odds bouts of low-key crying.

She sounds as though she's straining some of the time, hence why I thought she might be trying to poo but did a biggish one yday afternoon.

Her saliva seems thicker than usual and she has a slightly runny nose which is worse this morning - yellowy/clear.

No cough. No sickness. No temperature.

does it sound like teething or something else you recognise?

have now asked dh to come home as i'm panicking but that doesn't mean anythifng i'm such a panicker with them that my instincts mean shit (used to take F to docs/emergency docs weekly)

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 01/02/2011 12:43

no rash either. hasn't had any solids today

OP posts:
Spirael · 01/02/2011 12:48

I give her the macaroni on a spoon Cake, so I'm not sure whether or not she could grab it herself. Confused She can reach and grab food though, we offer her finger foods for dinner.

She's recently mastered a (blunt/plastic) fork though! I stab it into bits fruit and then give her the fork, and she eats the fruit off it. :)

Very Envy of all the giggling babies. M has a lovely laugh, but she rarely uses it. I have to perform a complex routine of silly actions and sounds for a reward of a moment or two of laughter. And only once or twice a day, other than that I get the Hmm look from her. Smiles are a bit easier, I smile at her and she will (generally) smile back.

Having a bit of a bad day here... Managed to slip on wet leaves and fall in the gutter on the way to Sing and Sign. Blush Fortunately M was in her car seat and I managed to set that down gently before ripping my knee open, jarring my ankle and landing ungracefully in the mud.

Then sat through Sing and Sign trying to surreptitiously stop the blood while M screamed at me for the first half then fell asleep over my arms for the second half. [rolls eyes]

Can I go back to bed and start this day over? Wink

god, i'm ridiculous Blush

after getting dh home from work, speaking to a doctor re having an emergency appt (doc decided it wasn't needed), giving her calpol and and her doing an enormous fart - she's now fine. smiling and seems normal.

think you're right mlic she was just a bit fed-up with cold, teething, tummy adjusting to solids etc.

in my defence, she did seem very weird, i think even dh was a tiny bit worried.

Love your " I'm not sure that anything sounds wrong tbh!" Grin

sounds awful spirael. hope you don't end up too black and blue

OP posts:
Trudyla · 01/02/2011 13:41

Hi all

I'm back.

Had a wonderful time but now we're all having post holiday blues Sad Oh well.

What have I missed?

Will give the baby stats later.

Woodlands · 01/02/2011 13:41

yes cake, it's hard to tell from your post what is wrong really - but your instinct is obviously telling you she's not herself. Cuddles and calpol needed...

ouch spirael, that sounds sore! poor you.

Trying to get J down for his nap has taken over an hour so far - normally I put him in our bed, and he was just dropping off but then did a big poo and woke himself up. So got him changed then decided to try to feed him to sleep on my lap in the living room and then watch last night's OBEM once he was asleep - but he's not hungry anymore so that wasn't working. I've now plonked him in his cot with a blanket over him and put his music box on, which normally works at night. If that doesn't work (doesn't sound like it's going to) I'd better bundle him up and take him out for a walk which I can't be arsed to do! oh well.

BTW I've taken 2 more PG tests including one with first morning wee, both negative. Phew!

sounds like teeth to me cake. always best to air on the side of caution when something just doesn't sit right though.
shit tsc hope it's not something that costs money Sad.
woodlands hope you manage to get some peace soon. it's a royal pain in the ass when they just won't sleep.
spireal hope you're not to sore you poor thing
mlic you're right there's nothing you could have done! these accidents are going to happen now and again though aren't they
i'm having a fecking shit day. ellie is screaming and crying constantly for some reason that i just can't work out and being very demanding and i just can't handle it for much longer. i have no car to go anywhere as dp's dad has taken mine to get it sorted for mot on thurs and then dp goes at lunch and gets himself something to eat in the shop and nothing for me and he knows that there's nothing in for me Angry doesn't even cut it when i always have his lunch and dinner ready when he gets home. wanker.

Woodlands · 01/02/2011 14:11

poor you kk, sounds like a bad day. i would be furious with dp if i was you.

off to find your aibu tsc.

J is finally asleep and I am watching OBEm, though the recycling lorry is outside so it might be noisy.

Trudyla · 01/02/2011 14:45

Baby age:
6 months

Dropped any milk feeds yet:
No. Then again, she only has 4 bf during the day and none at night, so not sure if she could drop any.

Eating much:
Has had pureed veg in the evening for the last couple of weeks but only up to maybe 3 teaspoons. Loves it though so I think I will up that soon. BLW is so not for me though. I gave her a few bits and bobs and was in tears cos she started choking. Will never do that again until she?s got all her teeth (may be exaggerating there)

Sleeping thru the night:
Hit and miss. But usually she only wakes and goes down quickly if we give her a dummy.

In her room:
Yes. She sleeps much better than if she?s in with us.

Rolling both ways:
No. She sometimes masters front to back but is not too bothered about it.

Sitting unaided:
Only 2 or 3 seconds, then she tumbles to the front.

Crawling:
No. She is trying very hard though but getting nowhere and gets very frustrated about it.

Who does she recognise (other than you):
She smiles at DP whenever she sees him even if she is in a very bad mood. She?s just started to do the same with the cat.

Specialist skill/s:
When we hold her up as if she is standing and put on the Pogues, she moves her legs so fast as if she is doing an Irish dance. It?s the funniest thing ever. Keeps us entertained for ages.

Celeb he is most like:
Right, who gets angry quickly if they don?t get their will? Maybe Alan Sugar? No, that?s too mean.
