Ouch! I remember I had that with DD - the first 2 weeks were awful, whereas William was a breeze. Have pm-ed you my email.

Met up with a friend for coffee this morning, she has a 4 month old boy who is totally gorgeous and makes me very broody. William has announced he would like a baby brother! Not sure if DH is up for this though (and there is no room in the house either)!

jetgirl · 18/05/2011 15:56

Ok, now I've checked my emails, I'm really broody! She's gorgeous!

littleoldme · 18/05/2011 16:41

creep into the thread sheepishly

Erm..good morning ladies! After a looooong absence from mumsnet, I decided to pop in and say hello. For those who don't know me, I was on the thread while preggers and up until DD was about a year old.

I am loving seeing all the familiar names - RG, Loopy, Greedy, LOM!!!!

LOM - have you gone and had another one? I am so ashamed that I haven't caught up with you in so long that you've had a baby in that time! Congrats - details please!

Loopy - sounds like you are deserving of conrgats too!

Please can someone be kind enough to give me a brief update on goings on in the past 2 years. I know, I am not asking much he he.

All fine here - not had any more but am starting to want one. But that is another story.

looks around thread beaming

It's good to see you all group hug

Oh Loopy - how wonderful. I am so chuffed up for you. I know what you mean about gap seeming huge in comparison to the others, but it does have the advantage that you can devote more of yourself to baby.

Although that could be very naiive of me since you still have the needs of 4 DCs to balance.

Know what you mean about DD3 and her friends. Sara is in a little clique at preschool at the moment. Their little ups and downs and funny little conversations do make me laugh.

How is DD3 dealing with not being the youngest BTW?

RGPargy · 19/05/2011 12:28

Charm!!! Lovely to see you!! :o

Nothing happening this end. DD is a star, loves pre-school is generally mummy's little darlin' lol. She's such a poppet! :o

Loopy - hope you manage to get through your bumpy BF ride fairly quickly. I remember with DD i had the blocked duct thingy (what's it called??) and felt like i had flu just when my brother and his daughter decided to come and visit me and my new baby! Not great but it soon passed. Never had problems with sore/cracked nips tho. Sounds v painful! The only pain i can possibly relate to that is when DD decided to dig her elbow into my NIPPLE that was already really sensitive and sore with her FULL body weight as she was trying to sit herself up in my bed. I did howl!! Properly nothing like the pain you are feeling but it might make you feel better knowing that someone else got beaten up in the nipple department!

Sounds like she is doing a super job at feeding Loopy! Hope you are over the worst. I had terrible cracked nips with Adam. Toe-curling times!! I got the mws to check Adam's latch every other hour, they were sick of looking at my boobs lol! You'll be chucking her on soon whilst cooking, playing dominos and helping DD1 with her homework!

Hello Charming! Same old here. Adam is pretty full on, very funny but very noisy and full of beans. Not the kind of child I imagined myself having at all but fab all the same. No more planned.

RG - have you got DD DJing yet? ;)

Loopy - is sweet that DD3 loves being a big sister :) Am guessing you talked a lot about DD4 before she arrived. Is better than having a new member of the family thrust upon you and expecting you to adapt.

Greedy - Adam sounds great little character. Definitely prefer bouncy kids. The ones that are too quiet and angelic I find mildly disturbing.

Have been reading one of the old threads to try to catch up and at some point there was some millionaire's shortbread mentioned. I was wondering if there was any left...?

Hello there charming! Lovely to see you again Smile no millionaire's shortbread left, but going to bake some cupcakes later, fancy one?

Loopy - hope the last couple of days have been better for you. I remember seeing on tv that mums who are bf for a second, third etc.time, sometimes find it harder for a bit because the last baby they fed was not a newborn or 'curly baby'. Newborns are so different from one or two year olds and your posture is different feeding them; confidence can be knocked because you remember feeding an experienced baby. I think you're probably as bloody-minded as me, Grin so won't want to give up. We're all here when you want to vent!

RG - yes, you have to get dd djing! That would be so cute!

Dad has been moved to a secure rehab unit for people with acquired brain injury. After the other unit lost him a couple of weeks ago, it seemed the only option. It's 30 miles away but such a vast improvement on the last place that we really hope to see significant improvement now.

Think we're going to take the kids out on their bikes today, weather is gorgeous here!

I know a couple of you have me on FB and if you look on my videos you will see a video of DD DJing! Wink

Loopy - Glad ot hear things are brightening up for you re BF. So broody ATM i'm surprised i'm not oozing milk!! lol!! Oh did you know, they now do Lansinoh wipes?!! I saw them in Asda yesterday!!

Jet - Glad that things are improving for your Dad too. It must be such a relief!

Off to bed ladies. N'night, take care! x

ThisCharmingMum · 23/05/2011 10:44

Morning ladies, It's a very grey and gusty one here. Sara has the sniffles so she's off pre-school this morning. She is at the moment looking after her cuddly kitten who apparently is not well either. Love watching her play in her imaginary world - DS never really did that - wonder if it's a girl thing?

Loopy - you sound like you are hanging on to your sanity at least, which is more than I did when I tried BF DS. Never got mastitis but remember that initial pain when baby latches on. Ouch.

Jet - sorry to sound ignorant but I missed the history behind your dad. It sounds like you have resolved the situation, whatever happened. 30 miles sounds manageable for you to be able to visit lots.

Please keep 2 cupcakes aside for me and Sara. We need them today!

Loopy - yes I am like RG - very broody. I have spent the past 2 years trying to convince DH to try for another. I've tried being nice, being a cow, tantrums, tears, begging, emotional blackmail, bullying, leaving him to think about it, everything. He has not budged. But recently 3 or 4 of our very close friends have announced they are expecting babies no.3 so we would not be the exception if we had 3. Especially since DH's brother is expecting no.3 and so is DH best friend. This seems to have changed DH view on what is 'average'.

So wish me luck ladies - I think he's coming round very slowly.

RG - would you have another?

Off to check FB for said video...

littleoldme · 23/05/2011 14:38

Hi all. Sorry i haven't been around much lately. We've had lots of lovely visitors over the last couple weeks so been very busy. Patch is still waking up at night too and there's been other stuff too which, well... let's just say I'm looking for ajob and leave it there ! I'm hopefully doing my childminding training in July and hunting around for bits and bobs in the meantime.

Loopy - Sounds very ouchie re the BF. You poor thing. I've got a tube of barely used Lansinoh which I'll post to you. The pics are gorgeous !

Bugger lare for picking up T.
Charming - great to see you !
