2010 - the best year of my life, for half of it I was pregnant and for the other half had my baybee. Grin

SilverSky · 28/01/2011 23:16

I will try that and see what reaction I get!

AlpinePony · 29/01/2011 09:28

curly Plus, I have met cossie and you have by way of interweb introduced me to someone who has invited us both to this function - tbh, not sure if I can afford it - we reckon a weekend trip to the UK is about a 1000 a pop. :( You'll have to come to the Dutch one instead! Wink

cunty Not pathetic at all. Bear now has 2 week's worth of those, plus a certificate "Robin Hood: for stealing all the nanny's hearts". Blush It will be framed.

silv I think we racked up the lowest bar bill in the history of time: 10 euros laundry (oh my, who knew?), 6 euros for 1 Bulmers, 4 euros for 1 Baileys. Wine was FREE! Tbh, if I've got to get up in the night and be active in the day I can't drink. Are you off to meet FESHes too? Grin I did have one gluhwein and promptly fell over on piste. Blush

VAG Yes, massive R&R. Lots of gnarly radical tubular stuff. C-section scar really hurt when I was tired & cold though. Odd.

FannyPriceless · 29/01/2011 10:17

What has happened to us?

skibitch is recommending family-friendly package holidays.

cunty is getting sentimental about daily childcare notes.

Whatever next? ConfusedGrin

Cosmosis · 29/01/2011 10:40

FREE WINE???? sign me up now Grin

rollerbaby · 29/01/2011 11:23

Alpro - so glad you had a great hol. WTF on alcoholic intake? This is not what I would expect of a ski-nut FESH!!

Cunty - oooh I feel for you sending your little boy out into the big wide world. Wait til you're telling him off about the reports he brings home :)

We did it. This morning. Yep, all still in working order. Didn't hurt or anything. Yipppeeeeeee. Have had some bleeding since though and a pricking feeling. Could that STILL be stitches or scar tissue? I feel better for finally biting the biscuit... although my left boob did soak the bed. Nice.

OkieCokie · 29/01/2011 14:02

I would hope you would feel a pricking sensation if YOU DID IT Moo

rollerbaby · 29/01/2011 15:49

BWAH HA HA HA!!! I am feeling quite pleased with myself I must say. Lurvely pictures Okie on other place...

SilverSky · 29/01/2011 18:06

PMSL !!!

Nice to see update piccies of a FESH or two's offspring as you say moo!

Sooooo the question is: do I need to was the baybee sleeping bag before MB can use it???

SilverSky · 29/01/2011 19:16

alps I did meet some FESHs!!!! They woz all veh veh nice with veh veh gorgeous baybees! Tues iz a great host. Went home with a full tum - fanks FESHs!

OkieCokie · 29/01/2011 20:03

Fanks Moo and Silv. It was that photographer I told you about moo - she came back today to do some FOC ones of Mini Oke as he was in a foul mood when she came before Christmas. Veh reasonably priced lady.

And yes, welcome back Alps we missed you. Have you feel all relaxed and recharged despite Bear being a bit under the weather.

Peppa has the shits. She is shitting about every 20 minutes and although only a bit is coming out it is so frequent that she has a sore bum. Her bum is really red. Mr C says it is because I am drinking too much wine

AlpinePony · 30/01/2011 10:28

honey Very glad to hear you're back on the horse and hat's off to you because I gather (reading around these parts) it's quite unusual with 3rd degree - an an awful lot only ever do it again for procreation. :( How has swimming been going? I took Bear swimming last Sunday and he screamed out the entire place - although the two russian girls doing "sexy" and posing for the camera didn't seem overly peturbed. I'm afraid I'm not much of a drinker. Can't resist a line though. Wink

okie It was lovely thank you, I did get to relax, it's the little things like being able to choose from a menu, no going to the supermarket, no washing up, none of that banal stuff. Please tell me I'm not the only one who has to plan the meal schedule? Confused

It was all very interesting from a people watching POV, very interesting to see how the children react to various levels of paternal interaction for one, another one was spotting the children who'd never heard a pin drop when sleeping - if anything it's just nice to be able to use it all as a guage and realise you are not mad, or at least no madder than any others. They do an evening watch service where you drop them off at the creche 7:30-11 if you want so they can sleep/watch a DVD whilst you eat your meal like a real person! Grin

silv I'll wager cunty does fab cake. Hurr hur - she's gone from cocktail hostess with the mostess to Nigella meets Mary Poppins!

You bet right! Chocolate!!

FannyPriceless · 30/01/2011 11:19

alps Your holiday sounds good. I have told MrP we're doing it. He looked at me like Hmm. I'll talk him around. I can't face another 'holiday' in a self-catering cottage surrounded by fab MTBing and hills to walk up, while I spend all day inside trying to keep it together on the feeding, cooking, and changing nappies front. Your way sounds much better.

AlpinePony · 30/01/2011 16:11

fanny They do sailing/watersports (ooer missus!) holidays in the med for the summer months so the men can go and do manly things. Actually I fancy that too as boredom threshold is v low - I need to do stuff.

OP posts:
CurlyCasper · 30/01/2011 17:59

don't dare look Alps, we're having enough trouble sorting the holiday we've already got on the cards.

I'm off to hairdresser for the first time in almost 3 years this week. Eeeeeeep!

CUNextTuesday · 30/01/2011 18:34

I have just Made A List for offing to the Alps next week. Rastus's list is longer than mine by some margin Grin

And yeah alps I have calpol and teething gel right up at the top, along with nasal decongestant and cough mixture.

SilverSky · 30/01/2011 18:38

fp it needs to be YOUR holiday too !

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 30/01/2011 20:22

Hello hello hello all! Talking of hollydays, has anyone got good experiences with a travel cot? Need to buy one - prob a 6mo+ one, think there are two basic styles: bassinet/bubble (enclosed, rests on floor) and what I think of as playpen shaped. These seem bigger, heavier to transport (?), and poss tall sides mean difficulty getting sleeping baby down to mattress?

Ref: meeting people you've met on T'internet. TSF was unconcerned about me taking his son to "Cunty's house". I shall quiz him on this..... TSF has finally recovered from yesterday's crushing disappointment when he and Clint had to leave baby swimming after 5 (scream-filled) minutes. Bless.

Moo - go girl!

rollerbaby · 30/01/2011 20:56

okie have the botty runs stopped now? Eek on wine consumption. I am having a good 2 glasses a night at the moment. So shoot me.

alpro swimming is going v well... a few moments where I feared for my eardrums but he seems to love it and has definitely got calmer and more tolerant each week.It absolutely exhausts him though which is obviously great. Lsat week I dipped him under 3 times and he was very nonchalant. Hilarious. Grandma's coming this week. I think she may have kittens.

VAG - steady on. I probably won't be putting out again for another 6 months!!! :)

Curly* - yay for hairdressers. I love mine. Finally I look like a human again. Luckily mini moo behaved and actually slept and fed like an angel. And then guess what - as we were late putting him to bed he ate at 9ish then midnight and then slept until 6AM. However, I couldn't bloody sleep! WTF is that about?

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 30/01/2011 21:27

How much wine/gin am I "allowed" while bf? Have recently realised that I have a somewhat cavalier attitude to this (though following last might's half bottle I did opt to pump & dump). I heart booze. Am so v middle class about drinking and bf (ie rules are for keeping other people in check & don't apply to me...)

Hooray for all these haircuts. I must get one, not had since Aug. Okes, did you say you go to the one near my home, initials AF? Do you go to the man himself or another stylist? CBA to go into town to my old place.

rollerbaby · 30/01/2011 21:42

I read somewhere the other day that pumping and dumping is a waste of time. The minute alcohol is out of your blood, it's out of your milk so you don't need to drain your boobs. Can't remember where I read it, but makes sense. I think at most I might have half a bottle. Which is probably a bit too much . I'm sure a glass or two is ok.

OkieCokie · 30/01/2011 21:51

Moo just to clarify it is Peppa with the shits and not me. I have been confined to the house today with Peppa with her arse out practically all day as it is sore and she is still shitting about every 30 mins. Will go to Dr tomorrow if it continues although she is still feeding well. She has been on her change mat nearly all day in various different locations in the house and I have been placing nappy under her but not done up to catch the wee and shit so have gone through about 20 nappies today alone. She even has slept on her change mat swaddled in a muslin (!) bless her.

Vag I have this travel cot which we got as it is very light. It is OK, but I can see that may be babes would sleep better in the play pen type ones however these are very heavy and bulky - we have never had an issue with mini Oke sleeping in the phil and teds one. I guess it depends if you are driving in which case weight and size it makes no difference or flying when weight is key. Re haridressers yes I go to the man himself, he is veh good and I have been going to him for over 10 years. I have a couple of glasses of wine every couple of nights.

I only pump and dump when I have drunk enough to make me feel a bit pissed. I am therefore probably not the right person to advise on this Confused

CluckyKate · 30/01/2011 22:01

Vag - I had v. similar attitude to the drinking, both while diffed and when bf. No noticeable damage to LC, in fact, she was a fabulous sleeper so p'raps it helps Hmm Confused. Our NCT BF lady also said what Moo says and who am I to challenge the knowledge of such an expert.

Nearly 2 1/2 years on and we're still doing Waterbabies with LC Alps (good to see you back btw) - we had good weeks and bad weeks but was def. worth persevering as she really loves it now.....can't even mention the "pool" word in our house now as she runs for her cossie and wants to go immediately.

Right, am totally fed-up with this diffedness malarkey (due on Weds) so was wondering - what was the one thing you did that you think triggered your birthing????....I mean the stuff that actually worked, not just the old wives tales.

OkieCokie · 30/01/2011 22:07

Ate best part of a whole pineapple for breakfast then walked up the full length of Kings Road (well Peter Jones to Heals) and back again did it for me clucks. I of course popped into a few shops en route and bought shiz.

SilverSky · 31/01/2011 01:34

A c-section clucks! Grin

In all seriousness, depends if you got your dates right coz for me I think the hossie were three days ahead of my own dates so MB was never gonna be ready in their eyes and therefore all my currying, walking, pineappling and raspberry leaf teaing did fuck all.

Wrt the "drink", I'd say couple of glasses is ok. I also agree with the pumping being pointless. And a fecking pain.
