i clearly have a lazy fat boy, he keeps grabbing at food im eating but wont put anything near his mouth himself be it a spoon, sippy cup or food, i tried baby rice cakes put it in his mouth attempting it whole then wont hold it again!!
had such a crappy day, dh doesnt think we can afford centerparcs for my birthday at end of month! we will see about that!! he goes work tuesday then i will book it!! Grin

WinterChillita · 01/01/2011 20:10

wss DD loved broccoli for a long time - makes for pretty nappies too Grin

S is crying away in bed, he's been there since nearly 7. Stupidly enough I woke him up at 6 cos I didn't want him to be hard to settle later on Hmm He doesn't want boob, he's just crying his heart out and I can't get him to stop unless I'm cuddling and pacing which I'm not prepared to do all night long. It's a horrible sound though, full on crying with choking sounds. I keep going back in every 2-3 mins just cos I can't stand this sort of crying. He's knackered though so don't want to get him up...ARGH!

Good night all, I might actually get some sleep at some point. pma and all that

NewYearStac · 01/01/2011 21:00

happy new year ladies, may 2011 be a great year for us all and full of happy, healthy babies. R has taken to screaming for bout an hour at night before bed only started from when she was unwell any ideas why? Soz you had crap nights. I agree with tsc and cakes so glad i 'met' you all and hope we keep meeting up Smile

memphis83 · 01/01/2011 21:53

tsc you've been named and shamed by 2 people, quite a few are saying how much they laughed and someone has requested a link to the thread, its pretty impressive that people remember your name!! or is it sad that they clearly have nothing better to do!

kkfairybrains · 01/01/2011 22:11

everytime i think of that story i laugh!! hilarious!
happy new year y'all! been awol the last few days as have been so busy between one thing and another. first of all as you probably seen on facebook i got flooded........twice. then went to belfast yesterday to family for new years eve celebrations. didn't get up to much we just stayed in the house and it was lovely. came back this evening to no water again. the resevoir has supposedly run dry. Angry
really glad to have got to know all you ladies too. i really have found this a godsend and don't know what i'd do if everyone stopped posting.

Stac2011 · 02/01/2011 01:05

have to say tsc i still laugh about that story, you were brave to post it lol

kk you poor love, glad you had a nice new year hun. Hope it all gets sorted soon x

DesperateHousewife20 · 02/01/2011 08:46

whatshesaid basically in my BLW book it says they can literally have anything except honey and nuts. So on that basis Ive given him broken up banana, broccoli florets, cauliflower florets, bread, parsnip etc.
Obv hard veg needs to be cooked a bit to soften it up and the best way to check the temp is to eat some yourself, apparently touching it to your lips is not sufficient.

Dylan kept being sick last night though so something I gave him didnt agree with him, Im thinking surely banana and parsnip must be ok so might have been the bread.

tsc congrats! You are officially the famous poster on our thread Grin

I had to put saline drops up his nose, seemed to help though, he woke at 2.30, 5.30, 7 and 8 (although wanted to get up at 7 and I didnt!)

What is everyone doing today? We havent got much planned so was thinking of going to Asda to get some more sleepsuits. Mr Fatty has grown out of his 3-6s.

memphis83 · 02/01/2011 10:01

dh probably was the bread i read something about excess fibre can cause babies to be sick ot get the runs because they cant break down much fiber a day? im yet to try L on bread may try him on milk loaf as white bread doesnt like me much! Grin
i got L 6-9 his feet are bent over in his 3-6's
dh has gone golf so im taking L to the shops with my mum, still got my xmas money to spend!! and i want one last creme brulee latte from costa before they stop doing the xmas drinks!
kk i saw about the resevoir running dry around your parts, said they suspect it was vandals turning taps on! hope things start looking up, i couldnt cope with no water for the3 hours we had none, i kept winging we only have one more flush on the toilet!!

WinterChillita · 02/01/2011 14:11

Oh my days, just moved up to level 2 on the Shred and I about died...made me feel a bit better that army-boy DH was sweating too so I'm not a complete wimp Grin

dh hope you work out what it was, could have been the bread, or just a coincidence.

kk hope the water gets back on soon, that so horrible for you!

Mmmm...creme brulee...I love that so much!
Poor S is all coldy again, sitting in the beanbag watching engineering programmes on the telly with red rimmed eyes. He seems to enjoy them though so I'll leave him there!

tsc you look so thin on your fb profile! I've never, ever been that thin. I'm hoping to drop from a size 12 back to a 8-10, but I'm 5ft2 so size 12 is far too big for me.

kkfairybrains · 02/01/2011 14:44

memphis that and burst pipes in vacant premises seems to be the cause of it. they're not keeping us informed though which is the most annoying thing. no idea when it could be back and its not as if we can just pop to the neighbours for it now as they have none either! Really hoping we're back to normal soon. And then somebody tries to tell me the other day that the cold snap is coming back! I just put my fingers in my ears!
Was supposed to be starting diet today but dp persuaded me (wasn't that hard!) that we should start tomorrow instead! So for once i think i'll listen to him!
Ellie is being an absolute dread to get to sleep in her cot after all the coming and going over christmas and new years. literally as soon as we put her in she screams and i've tried leaving her but i just can't do it. She's such a pleasant baby who has never been like this before that it just breaks my heart. So i'm thinking it may be more teeth as well as being out of her routine because as soon as i put calgel in today she settled and went to sleep beside me.
How's W getting on now mlic? Is he still happy and taking food?
How is R's cough now stac?
Dp is taking me for dinner shortly and he wants to go for a few drinks tonight together. Not sure if i'm that bothered to go out so will just wait and see what happens.

WinterChillita · 02/01/2011 15:29

Some people are so grumpy on MN, I forget just how crabby they are til I venture off the post-natal threads. I just asked a simple question and people come back with some very odd responses!
kkfairy S is very hard to settle too at the moment, horrible crying at night which means I'm in his room for about an hour trying to settle him.

DesperateHousewife20 · 02/01/2011 16:39

What thread was that Chillita?

WinterChillita · 02/01/2011 17:46

this one I'm not sure some people understand what I'm asking tbh

DesperateHousewife20 · 02/01/2011 17:58

Just had a read, yes some of them are a bit arsy, but then you will always get that with a group of people, whether on here or in RL.
Only pay attention to the useful suggestions!

WinterChillita · 02/01/2011 18:04

Yea, it doesn't bother me, just seemed such a pointless thread to be grumpy on but some people are perenially arsey I reckon!

kk your doing great without water, i'd be going mad. R's cough is much better thanks, it was scary cos her breathing was crap. Hope you have a good night.

We have taken a step back with weaning just now as R was on 3 meals per day but since being ill she isnt interested in solids. I have managed 2 feeds today and a drink from the sippy cup. Going to try finger foods with her tomorrow.

memphis83 · 02/01/2011 21:54

stac hope R improves soon, we have gone onto 3 meals from yesterday and we gave him a slice of milk loaf which he thought was lovely, me is so constipated this week he keeps passing hard nuggets, i cant feed him any more fruit and lactulose, i even bought a mouli to give him dates but its rubbish so im taking it back, may try prune juice next!
tsc im with you on the worrying about having to get up early, not that im up all night just turned into a lazy cow since dh has been home!
whats everyone up to tomorrow? we are going to Milton Keynes to buy me a pushbike, as we looked at hiring one for centerparks, 2 bikes and a trailer...£62...per day!

DylthanThroughTheSnow · 02/01/2011 22:44

kk I hope you get water soon it must be terrible it's somthing we all take for granted and don't miss until it's gone.

chulita they were abit arsey on that thread somepeople on here will do anything to start a bf/ff debate it's so silly. And do some people really take offence to re-usable wipes Shock

We've had a terrible day Dylan has a horrible sickness bug so has been vomiting all day. He's never vomited before in his life so it's come as a bit of a shock to the system today. It's heartbreaking to see him so poorly and begging for it to stop Sad
Fingers crossed no one else will catch it i've been going mad with the dettol but it will all probably be a bit pointless because the nurse from nhs 24 said it was airborne so I think we just have to touch wood and hope.

WhatSheSaid · 03/01/2011 06:42

kk the water shortage in the north of Ireland was on our Sky news in New Zealand the other day! HOpe you get your water sorted soon, what a nightmare.

My friend split up with her husband on new years day, they have 4 kids under 6. He's now refusing to move out so it's all getting a bit unpleasant. It's been coming for a while but still a shitty thing to happen for them all.
