I reckon S might be teething too, not sure but he cried almost all of yesterday (hence me not being on here very much). He had two 30 minute naps the whole day long and was miserable the rest of the time. I finally nurofened him at about 5 and put him in bed.
kkfairy broken nights are hard regardless of how often you're up! S has only been up once for the last 3 nights but I'm still shattered! He is up for over an hour though so that might be part of it.
stac if R was still hungry she'd let you know. I've not started S on anything yet but I know when we do get going he won't eat much to start with!
mlic sounds like your dog might be sulking/in a strop with you. We had a cat who'd poo on my dad's armchair whenever we all went out. She'd seriously do it every.single.time. We ended up giving her to a friend who was absolutely devoted to her and she never pooed in the house again!
cakes just remembered re your 'mummy's doing a poo poo' story, on Boxing Day L announced to my extended family 'mummy da geen poo' when I was only off for a wee but she's obsessed with Sam's green poo and reckons that's what we all do...

Stac2011 · 06/01/2011 08:47

thanks mlic and chulita think i was just worried that i should have made her take more or should be cutting out some bottles?

chulita i was reading your thread about the gift for sil. I would love to know what you've finally settled on as i am nicking your idea for niece Smile. I did post on your thread but just so it was on my active threads

That sounded like a good night mlic pity he wanted to stay up at 5. R slept from 10.30 till 3.30 wanted fed again at 4.30 and 5.30 so brought her into bed she woke at 7.45 and wants to be up for the day. I think not. Ds away to school so i am off to battle for a nap

mlic that night sounds better! Hope you feel more human for that sleep.

Dylan went from 10-3 but then decided to stay awake til 4, he wouldnt settle with a dummy so I gave him boob, I suppose I cant expect him to fall asleep with a dummy everytime though.

Going to see my friend today, its meant to rain all day so not sure what we're going to do.

Im going to take Dylan swimming soon, what does he need to wear?
Do I need to get those swimmer nappies?

Thanks mlic, I was thinking about an all in one so I'll go for that.

kkfairybrains · 06/01/2011 10:56

Too tired for a long post. E was up 9 times last night. I never even looked at times. Her nose is stuffed up too now so she obviously wasn't able to breathe with the dummy in and then she was up for the day at 7 so i brought her into bed. Checked her temperature and it was37.7 so stripped her down to vest and calpol. She's napped for 5 mins since and she was even unsettled during her little nap. Im not overly worried though as she took her full 8oz bottle so hopefully she keeps that up and she should be ok soon. And now i feel sick but think its just tiredness rather than catching something.
Mlic that sounds like a pretty good sleep! laughing at your blunders with the times! Good on you for shredding!
Tsc boo for your night. You'll get there in the end put that just doesn't seem like any consolation right now.
Stac that seems like plenty. Dont cut out any bottles as if she wants them she's hungry and milk is the most important thing.
Hows s today chulita? you still shredding?
After this bad patch im gonna start back shredding.
So much for a short post!

Stac2011 · 06/01/2011 11:13

i can understand the snort mlic but R has never been an early bedder (no matter how hard i try) so i suppose i take it for granted that she sleeps longer in the mornings allowing me to get ds organised for school. Also as much as i was hoping she would nap she hasnt.

kk poor you and ellie, you must be knackered. We used karvol drops to help unblock R's nose and the doc gave us saline drops. Could you get some at the chemist? Doc told me if they are eating their happy. Hope she's better soon x

CrimboCakeandRoses · 06/01/2011 11:55

I'm back!! Well, nearly. Dh is doing the horrid rainy drive back up the m5 now.

This holiday is the first when F has understood/can talk about the fact that we'll be going home to see the cat, family and all his new toys etc. He's been so excited this morning and talking about the cat nonstop :-)

F has been saying so many new words and sentences this week, think it's because he's finally feeling better after all the bugs and teething. It's made me realise how much these things must affect our babies' happiness and development.

It was lovely to get away and spend lots of time together but with the crap nights in the first half of the week and then the usual nappies, feeds, cleaning up toddler mess, it's felt a bit of a busman's holiday tbh! tsc at what at age does it feel like a proper holiday with children? Your night sounds dreadful but hopefully it'll only be a couple of nights and he'll realise that he has to go to sleep. We've always found it takes 3 nights to make or break or routine with f.

kk poor e and you. Have you tried the Nuk desnotters? (Sorry can't remember real name now!) I find it the most effective thing, A hates it but is miles happier after I use it.

Feeling carsick now so will post more later!

WinterChillita · 06/01/2011 12:07

stac Shock at 7.45! S is going through a the-day-starts-at-5-with-a-big-explosive-poo stage. Seriously though, 7.45 is a dream for me!
kkfairy I'm still shredding, on day 5 of level 2 at the mo. I managed to get S down for a nap, gave L some toast and shoved her in bed, got my shorts on and S woke up [frustrated] so I'm sat here waiting for him to go to sleep again so I can do it. I'm determined to get through the full 30 days this time so if I don't do it during the day I'll have to do it in the evening when I'm shattered!
L is banging on her bedroom door so I reckon she's done a poo...gonna finish my toast before I tackle that one though

kkfairybrains · 06/01/2011 12:10

F sounds lovely cakes! its nice all the same to just get away from you usual surroundings even if all the same stuff has to be done!
wrt to her being stuffed up she's not runny. it just all sounds very dry and hoarse and like her nose is stuffed but nothing really coming out. i'm sure it will all loosen up in the next day or 2 so will see about drops and desnotter (yuk!).

chulita i know it sounds late but as i say she doesnt go down early so i dont have evenings, whether it be in and out at her or what she just doesnt go down. I dont mean she sleeps all morning just usually later than that so it allows me time to get ds up and sorted for school. Think we all have it differently, for me R is up late and wakes throughout the night but sleeps a bit later in mornings

kkfairybrains · 06/01/2011 12:26

x post chulita. im impressed!go you! are you feeling any difference?
and thanks for the offer of help stac. i'm going to a careers expo in 2 weeks to look into things more.

mlic I didn't find level 1 that hard either but I struggle with level 2, it's ninja! I alternate between 1kg and 1.5kg weights but I'm not fit at all so wouldn't dare go up to the 2kg weights! I don't feel any different either but I've only been doing it for 15 days so I wouldn't expect to really, especially as I'm still eating for Britain cos bfing gives me such an appetite!
My grandma had 10 children and she always says anything over 2 years causes trouble cos the older one knows enough to be jealous whereas I don't think L can remember a time before S.
stac fair one, S goes down about 6 and needs settling about twice plus a dreamfeed before I go to bed but at least he's in bed out of the way.
Right, time to get S in bed and see if I can shred with L running around like a loon. I can see myself whacking her in the face with those skater jumps

evening everyone, back from work at last!!
dh i got L a wetsuit material thing for swimming like a vest but it undos around soulders, down the side, and under bum so you dont have to peel it off when wet the sell them in mothercare, 1st time i went i was the only one without my child wearing one, when he started shivering i felt vv guilty
my aunt had her baby yesterday and they are both in intesnive care, she had pg diabetes and the baby has extremly high blood sugar and when they gave her a c section they cut though her uterus when they shouldnt have and through her bladder so she is all tubed up! only got to see baby for a second this morning after hours in surgery!! feel bad as we all live so far away! my uncle is still over the moon gushing how lovely his girl is!!!

kkfairybrains · 06/01/2011 20:13

Oh memphis hope they'll be ok Sad. Hows lyndons poo today? has it calmed down a bit?!
Mlic i was actually thinking who would be the first one pg again on the thread and i thought you for some reason!! i definately want more but not yet.
Ellie is very poorly this eve. Shes just been lying cuddled up to us and no playing or anything out of her and she hasn't taken much milk since this morn. She's very hoarse and a horrendous sounding cough has started this eve too. No chesty but sounds like its coming from way down and it sounds dry and hard if that makes sense?! going to steam her in the bathroom soon with some baby's vicks on her chest. Just feel so sorry for her! we're going to move her cot into our room too. I feel another long night ahead!!

memphis83 · 06/01/2011 20:34

kk they will be fine im sure! just puts a dampener on a new baby to the family! his poo is ok today only done 2 but my mum said one was massive so glad i missed that one! I wont be the 1st to have another baby i still cross my legs at the prospect of being butchered again anytime soon! Grin

DesperateHousewife20 · 06/01/2011 20:37

Dylan is taking a bottle!!

Im wondering about giving him a bottle of formula once a day before bed maybe? Im so pleased he takes a bottle and goes to sleep with a dummy, it means its not just up to me to get him to sleep Grin

I could do a whole dinner, bath, pjs, bottle night time routine then.

DesperateHousewife20 · 06/01/2011 20:43

P.S Im only thinking about formula because I dont think I can express enough for a whole bottle every night, otherwise I would!

No way on earth I'm having another one [shudders at thought] I think another baby would be lovely, but another pregnancy? Never want to go there ever again - if we could ever afford a house big enough to have a spare room I'd like to foster I think.

Excellent that Dylan is taking a bottle DH we are working on getting our Dylan to accept one - he doesn't seem adverse to the idea, but he just can't work out how to do it, he sort of chews on the bottle - am going to get a tommee tippee cup at the weekend, see if we get any more success with that. Not long till I have to go back to work - I feel physically sick at the thought of leaving him at nursery, but can see that being able to afford rent and food has got to be a good thing.

viksam · 06/01/2011 22:13

OMG u guys talk!!! Im so behind again!!
Well shite xmas in the vs camp. Devon and DH both poorly and me supressing being poorly so i can look after them! Devon was off his milk for almost 7 days, i was so worried about dehydration, ended up seeing the GP on call on xmas day. Didnt go to Brum till 3 days after xmas and probably shouldn't have gone then as everyone was still ill. No fun at all. All seemed better this week but now I'm feeling crap.......joy!
I think i want another one, just coz i dont want D to be on his own, however the thought of going through all this again with a toddler is horrifying! We haven't been preventing it but seen as though D was IUI im guessing we may need assistance again. Starting to think about going to the Docs to see what they say.
Im weaning and self settling at the moment, D cant get enough milk, yesterday between 12-12 he has 40oz!!!!!!!!!i recon he is making up for last week and growth spurting at the same time!
I am going to try and keep up now if i can, sorry its a self indulgent post.
xx
