i love the idea silk Smile

PertyPru · 10/12/2010 20:28

Hips I was hoping there was a chance of seeing you tomorrow...? Xmas Grin Quite understand if it is a stretch on your own with two though!

Red thank you for reminding me of that hospital-comfort thing. I remember reading that last year and hopefully in time it will be the case. I like the idea of proper explanations too, thanks BBBB.

Star you know there is no proven correlation between sex of baby and morning sickness, right? Wink I do love to start speculating though Grin. Think I am about the same as last time so far in that respect...

Silk sounds like a plan and a half! Meant to say, well done on the NCT stint too. Speaking as a fellow traveller a little earlier in the journey Xmas Smile, Good Work.

HippyChristmaspotamus · 10/12/2010 20:57

HippyChristmaspotamus · 11/12/2010 08:17

morning santa
i'm abusing DS's ability at playing wonderfully by himself Xmas Blush so i'm still here!

night wasn't too bad but i'd have loved dh to have been here this morning to get up with ds! although it has made me realise i've been spoilt since dd was born because he's done most of ds's early mornings! i had a cunning idea last night... i filled ds's bag with all his favourite little people and vehicles and left it in his room with his favourite book. they'd all been played with this morning before he called me so i reckon i bought myself an extra few mins. he still called for me at 6.30 though

how are you all doing? is dd1's ear better?

argh! i've got a party to go to today and nothing to wear!!! hmm, 4 ish hours til it starts... wonder if i've got enough time to make something... hmm this depends on ds playing happily and dd sleeping... i'm v tempted! i've got some lovely fabric ready for a skirt....that still leaves me without a top....

Silkstalkings · 11/12/2010 09:54

Ooh Santa I love a good softplay, I get a couple of hours relative peace and quiet! Taking my knitting means I don't have to try and be sociable if there are no mums I like there.

DD driving me mad, lately she has been really spazzing (apols but can't think of a more fitting wordBlush) about getting herself dry after a bath or swim. Guess winter has a lot to do with it but she just stands there and freaks out and if I try to help I get screamed at for doing it wrong/hurting her. It's better than all the stressing she was doing last year but it's a button I can't help reacting to, people not helping themselves. Must repeat mantra: she's only 7, she's only 7, she's only 7.

UrsulaUndress · 11/12/2010 10:26

Hello all. We have thawed. Hope you are all well.

Silks if she hates being rubbed dry could you make her one of those poncho-type towels with arm slits and just pop it over her head and let her drip dry inside? Or is it a case that you need her to be dry quickly?

HippyChristmaspotamus · 11/12/2010 20:09

evening ladies

my spying mission has been successfully completed so what would you like to know about pert's new house? Xmas Wink

we've had a lovely afternoon. DS was really well behaved and played really nicely with miniPert and all her friends. PertyPru was looking very glamorous today and was positively glowing Xmas Smile

santashappychick · 12/12/2010 08:07

morning,

ooooh tell us more, so glad per is looking great as i am sure you do to and the meet up went well..

well i have a very grumpy dd1 today as she decided not to go to sleep til 10pm last night Hmm.. dh rolled in at 3.30am absolutely smashed which i wasn't very happy about but i am going to let him lie in and then make him play with the dds for the rest of the day Grin.. don't to the crime if you cannot do the time lol..

HippyChristmaspotamus · 12/12/2010 10:03

dd slept for exactly 12 hours!! ds less so Confused He was like a newborn last night, awake every 2 hours

hey ho, house is an absolute tip esp living room...that'll teach me for not tidying toys each evening Smile

santa...is it her ear troubling her still? i reckon you should go back to bed once he's up Grin

pert really was looking so glam. i felt a right scruff bag in my jeans (along with ds in his) Blush but dd had her party dress on so i'm hoping she was pretty enough to hide me and ds! their house is so homely, really lovely. an amazing warm atmosphere, very welcoming. lots of original features. the fireplace in the front room is particularly beautiful

right, i'd best get off here and start the clear up!

hope you're all having lovely sundays

santashappychick · 12/12/2010 15:49

yeahh for dd hip tho Sad for ds.. dd2 was the same [sigh]..

maybe entering the house of gloom again, dd1 complaining of earache again, after docs gave her potential all clear last wed.. did give us another prescription just case and dd2 wheezing like a good one... i fear my meet up my be in trouble Sad.. will keep u posted northern ones xxx

CrispyTheCrisp · 12/12/2010 18:20

We are back Smile

Great weekend had by all, Winter W onderland in H yde park was great, but v v v busy. If any of you London ladies are thinking of going, i would say go early in the day. The helter skelter was the biggest hit for our two Smile

hipps i am getting this watch for Xmas. It is slightly daintier than it looks and waterproof and has no batteries which is all the things i need!

bibi hope today has been better, or you have indulged in hair of the dog Grin

Looking forward to our Midlands meet tomorrow and hope you can make it Santa. Glad the London mini meet went well and pert your house sounds just lovely and homely Smile

Off for a bath.....back later.....

CaptainCaveman · 12/12/2010 18:42

Back from the outlaws Grin. My fave MIL comment of the weekend has to be "kids ought to experience times like we did in the war. It would make them eat more" Hmm Grin. God love her.

Hi everyone!

HippyChristmaspotamus · 12/12/2010 19:12

santa oh poor dd1, i really hope you make it tomorrow ok

crispy its really lovely but about £100 more than the one i chose Grin
i'll have to google what you've been to Blush

cc your mil sounds barmy!

blueberrysantabait · 12/12/2010 20:28

Evening all

Back from our 1st Christmas of 2010, we went to my parents as they go to SA on Wednesday until mid Jan. We had a great day with turkey, gammon, all the trimmings adn then Christmas pud and ice cream - too full to move! DD2 discovered the joys of brussel sprouts - I am dreading tomorrow's nappies!

Bibi - hope hip, head and all the rest are better today.

Crispy - Hyde park was manic when we were there are few weeks ago I can't imagine it 2 weekends before Christmas!

We popped into Bath yesterday and it was oddly quiet and then we went into a shop (to buy me boots :) )and came out 15 minutes later and all hell had broken loose! We left rapidly and ounted ourselves luck as we saw the queues leading into town.

Hippy - hope DS sleeps better tonight and DD continues her great sleeping.

Very envious of midland meet - someone please take piccies!

HippyChristmaspotamus · 12/12/2010 20:46

bbb what like we did when we met up? Xmas Wink
i would have loved a big roast today. was hoping mum was going to do one but she either didn't or forgot to invite me!
what boots did you get?

blueberrysantabait · 12/12/2010 20:50

Ooh Hippy - I was waiting for someone to ask Xmas Grin I got these The yare so awesome and according to DH sexy Xmas Hmm

Silkstalkings · 12/12/2010 21:16

Wotcha.
We took DD to see A Christmas Carol at the theatre today which was nice but on the way home I had a bit of an anxiety attackSad. Think it was a combination of having left my phone at home (DSs were out with a friend, was worried about either of them having a strop but apparently they were gimpeccably behaved) + 2 caffeinated coffees at the theatre + perhaps a little menstrual anaemia. DH went out and got us a curry though so that cheered me upGrin.

Also bought a ton of pretty pretty wool on Ebay towards my New Year knitted patchwork quilt project for a bit of retail therapy. If any Ravelers want to know more, it's in my project list, am embarrassingly excited about itBlush.

HippyChristmaspotamus · 12/12/2010 21:24

they look amazing bbbbbbbb Grin i agree with yr dh, they do look sexy!

sorry you had a 'moment' silks, but well done your dh for sorting it out. i'd have a look on ravelry but can't remember my login Blush

Silkstalkings · 12/12/2010 21:37

BBBB Worth wearing in bed I think, those boots (Nice bit of traction against the wallWink.)

CrispyTheCrisp · 12/12/2010 21:45

Loving the boots bbbbb, and glad you escaped the crowds

silks hope the printer is working ok and am just glad someone else has experienced the gate entry system Grin. Hope you didn't get caught chatting for too long....
