DD2 can do without but is a nightmare. DD1 has even taken herself off for a nap the last 3 days Shock. So much excitement for them i think. Have you tried taking him for a nap? He may be quite amenable to it. DD2 says 'No, DD2 not going to bed'. We say 'oh yes you are' (pantomime stylee Grin) and she snuggles down and has slept for 2hrs the last 3 days

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 03/01/2011 18:53

Star - we have had no nap for months! The early waking apparently has something to do with them being so very overtired at bedtime they go directly into deep sleep and they get their quota of deep sleep earlier so wake earlier refreshed and bouncy! We found a week or so of 6.30 bedtimes sorted the problem by getting her to bed before she was overtired, she slept later and things improved.

ooh it's bedtime now - back in a bit!

TwilightSurfer · 03/01/2011 19:08

R fights a nap unless in her carseat then she's out like a light. That's wonderful I suppose.Hmm However, usually that screws up my day because I have to wake her only minutes later. OR better yet she'll crash at 6PM then wake at 7PM and not want to go to be until 11PM.

SLEEP ISSUES BIG TIME HERE

It's just a phase and she's not hateful about it so I can survive. I'm sure when she's back in school she'll start needing her nap again.... ROLL ON WEDNESDAY!!!Grin

You all speak the truth. If we wanted to visit the UK there's no way we could do it properly in a week. He must conform to my way of thinking!

hippyChristmaspotamus · 03/01/2011 19:16

evening all
i surprised dh,ds and dd with a trip to a pantomine today Smile Was only the local production but they did a great job. dd slept through most of it and ds was brilliantly behaved!

hmm, interesting re 6.30 bedtimes...

TwilightSurfer · 03/01/2011 19:16

Question...
I've just posted my aunt & uncle their holiday gift. I am purposefully late because of the weather in their area. This year I sent them a bottle of Tuscan red wine and breads from a local bakery. Does that sounds like an nice gift from a dear niece? The past two years I've sent cakes. Just thought I'd do something different.

hippyChristmaspotamus · 03/01/2011 19:27

i'm not sure TS so i've got a good idea... send me the same and I'll tell you if it would be nice coming from my as yet non-existent niece Wink

hippyChristmaspotamus · 03/01/2011 19:28

are we going to have a unveiling session of who's who's secret santa? I still don't know who my ss was last year!!!!

TwilightSurfer · 03/01/2011 19:42

Hippy, for you. Here's your bottle of wine and here's your bread.Grin

hippyChristmaspotamus · 03/01/2011 19:43

TwilightSurfer · 03/01/2011 19:45

luckoftheirish · 03/01/2011 20:00

hippyChristmaspotamus · 03/01/2011 20:05

hippyChristmaspotamus · 03/01/2011 20:06

gah! battery on laptop running low, off to find my charger

luckoftheirish · 03/01/2011 20:08

Only this yr hip cannot take the credit for last yr I'm afraid!!

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 03/01/2011 20:12

I know who was both this and last year's Santa. I know my recipient has received mine as she let me know but no idea whether it was good, bad or indifferent!

DD's in bed, packing done - we may or may not have everything we need, I know we have cossies, shorts, suncream, passports and money so I think we will survive!

hippyChristmaspotamus · 03/01/2011 20:37

blueberry.... TICKETS!!!
but yes, otherwise your list is perfect!

loti but this years was great! i've wanted cups for ages because i'm fed up of pfaffing round converting patterns

hippyChristmaspotamus · 03/01/2011 20:37

when i say 'patterns', i obviously mean 'recipes' Blush

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 03/01/2011 20:40

Hippy - no need for tickets they are all 'E' now. Grin I have a preference for cup recipes because my scales always have flat batteries! Do you have my banana bread recipe? I made a loaf today to use up all the bananas in the house and the loaf is gone! no-one believed a. it was for breakfast and b. it would taste better in the morning.

hippyChristmaspotamus · 03/01/2011 21:16

blueberry.... no and yes please!
the tickets for the pantomime were E too! i was amazed!!

luckoftheirish · 03/01/2011 21:29

Have a fab trip bbbb Smile

hip I cannot do without my cups either or my spoons come to think of it Grin

off to bedski as am feeling particularly achy so hoping it's tiredness and not the dreaded lurgy!

CrispyTheCrisp · 03/01/2011 22:51

bbbb hope you have an amazing trip and good flights etc

lol @ patterns & recipes Grin

hipps you were my SS, right?

hippyChristmaspotamus · 03/01/2011 23:08

I might have been WinkGrin
I do confess in trying to send you off on a bit of a wild goose chase but i obviously failed miserably!

hippyChristmaspotamus · 03/01/2011 23:10

hots and while we're on the subject...damn you and your detective skills! and i tried so hard to disguise my posting style! i used capital letters and proper punctuation and everything
