saltasaltasanta · 23/12/2010 23:04

PS DD still awake.

RedLentil · 23/12/2010 23:04

Salta - you have me there, I think. Blush

I'm saving up a joke about words getting slurred at Christmas. Grin

HoHoHotsAMerryChristmas · 23/12/2010 23:21

I'm ready, bar a bit of painting / glittering with DD in the morning and then wrapping the resulting wonky offerings masterpieces for Auntie and Grandma. Feels weird to be so prepared Xmas Confused

Red I hope your charger miraculously recovers, or someone has bought you an iphone for Christmas Xmas Wink

Loti I really hope your Dad makes it

BibiBelle · 24/12/2010 01:25

Red thank you - I've forgotten to cancel my standing egg order for Mon and I don't need 60 eggs turning up Xmas Grin not even with L and her egggy demands!

Am only half way through sorting the study which is where we're going to put Dad - at this rate he'll be sleeping in with us [meep]

Santa - am keeping everything crossed for your Dad for a safe trip.

Red - nothing wrapped here either and I was determined not to do it on Christmas Eve again this year Xmas Blush There isn't a huge amount but I love having a pile of presents all wrapped and in different bundles for each wee one. Thank goodness for a corner couch so one at each end and one in the middle Xmas Grin

ladies am pooped and in a LOT of pain with my hip so am off to catch a few winks. I've to do another batch of brownies in the morning (I ruined the last lot) and some vanilla cakes and then that's the lot for KnB this year Xmas Smile

TwilightSurfer · 24/12/2010 01:26

Red does your camera attach to your computer? Sometimes they can charge that way...through the USB connection. Maybe that will help. OR can you connect it to the power cable and take shots in one spot. All just ideas. You may have already thought of these.

I am trying not to be a debbie downer but neither of my children are listening to me, following directions or behaving. We've have a few 2 second good moments today but otherwise it's been crap. R is at my side at the very moment telling me NO MOMMA! NO BED! K thinks if R does it she can do it so NEITHER are in bed. This means I can not pull out gifts and begin sorting/wrapping. Quite honestly I want to be stern and use Christmas to prove a point... IF YOU CAN'T MIND THEN YOU CAN'T HAVE!!!!

Lucky, I really hope your dad makes it to your house. I keep logging on here and FB to check travel status.

Last but not least, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLUEBERRY! Xmas Grin

BibiBelle · 24/12/2010 01:29

ooh good thinking TS ! And if it makes you feel ANY better at all, my 3 are winding each other up and are just hyper at the minute. I've to take them to the shop tomorrow too - think I'll be asking for trouble there

Happy Happy Birthday Blueberry Darling. Hoping you have a WONDERFUL day Smile

BibiBelle · 24/12/2010 01:33

Morning all and Happy Christmas Eve to you all. If I don't get on later or tomorrow I hope you all have a wonderful time.

Happy Birthday Blueberry

Any news on your Dad Loti? Hoping he makes it.

TS, Bibi think they must just be getting geared up for Christmas - all that excitement.

I had a terrible night sleep wise. DH got in at 3am from his Christmas Party and was trying it on but there was no chance of reciprocation from me at that hour. Then DS woke up at 4am. He came in with us for an hour but didn't sleep then kept demanding Christmas music (I knew I was going to regret teaching him the words to Jingle Bells etc - probably in July) and to see the Christmas Tree. I told him no lights no music until he had a sleep so he proceeded to close his eyes for all of 2 seconds then tell me 'Mummy sleeping finished, Christmas music now, yes'. I caved in at about 5.20 and took him downstairs. MIL took pity on me and got up at 6am so I went back to sleep for about an hour before having to get up for work - argh.

santashappychick · 24/12/2010 07:09

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 24/12/2010 07:43

TS DH has already had to phone Santa and cancel DS's Christmas presents Xmas Hmm Fortunately good behaviour was restored soon after so Santa had to be advised again.

HoHoHotsAMerryChristmas · 24/12/2010 08:27

Morning all Xmas Smile

Happy Birthday BBBB Smile hope you have a fab day.

Loti I hope your dad makes it. What time is his flight supposed to be?

Feeling like shit today, the cold that's been threatening all week has finally arrived Xmas Hmm so off to lie down on the sofa for a bit...

UrsulaUnderTheMistletoe · 24/12/2010 08:40

Happy birthday bbbb! Enjoy spiking the snow in those fabulous boots Grin. I hope that's the end of your hospital visits for a bit.

My secret santa arrived yesterday so thank you VERY MUCH and well done for making it through the snow, I love it and am already using it!

Various family things going on here, so will not report much but want to say merry Christmas to all of you brilliant people. You've been crackers throughout the year and you're much appreciated over here. You see how I post this at 8.30 in the morning so no-one can accuse me of tipsy sentimentality? There'll be plenty of time for that later of course.

We are several family members down due to weather, stuck in London, but we are one unexpected friend up for tomorrow, which is nice.

UrsulaUnderTheMistletoe · 24/12/2010 08:42

happychick the airport is open again and Aer Lingus say they are operating off normal schedule at moment - obv all up for grabs at any moment though. Hope you get your dad today Smile

SilkStalkings · 24/12/2010 10:03

Funnily enough, all our snow from last week has finally melted, depsite being below freezing last night.

Morning! Seems BIL&SIL have finally got my heavy hints about ILs not being fit to look after his 1yr old currently so I am off the hook from my self-appointed 'nursery superviser' post today. I made FIL promise he would go out today (to stop them killing each other) so we now having a lazy morning in.

Saw 'Somewhere' at the cinema last night, Stephen Dorff still hot hot hot after all these years and quite charming film, if rather unsatisfying at the end. You also want to slap him and shout 'Pull yourself together man' in a WW2 BBC accent.

BF & I have challenged each other for 2011 to begin more sentences with the word "Why,..." Grin

hippyChristmaspotamus · 24/12/2010 12:43

why's that silk? Xmas Grin

hi all

just on quickly to say happy christmas x

RedLentil · 24/12/2010 12:44

All sounds well for the airport from here. Lots of positive vibes. Smile

CaptainCaveman · 24/12/2010 12:49

BBBB happy birthday lovely lady

santa hope your dad makes it over

waves - hello all you hairy ones! Its fricking Christmas Eve!! I can't wait to see ds1s face tomorrow, he's mad with excitement!!! Xmas Grin

CrispyTheChristmasCracker · 24/12/2010 13:41

Happy Birthday BBBB. Hope you have been showered with love, presents and food Grin

santa all sounds positive. Hope your Dad makes it, although looking at the weather coming in from Ir eland in a day or so, he may not make it home Hmm

Fire lit and Nemo on - requested by DD2, but she is currently strumming jingle bells on DD1's guitar and singing along . TS we have had some very trying times with DD2 recently and she is VERY clingy (still not well). Everything ends up in a tantrum and it is very wearing. {{{Hugs}}} and remember to chant 'tis just a phase'. Sorry to hear DD1 is joining in too though, that is the pits Sad. Luckily DD1 likes to be very good when DD2 is stroppy and whiney - feeds her superiority complex i think Grin

Last night we filled in the Portable North pole thingummy for both girls - i think we will show them this afternoon, once DH has finished building his 5th shed. A smokehouse i believe Hmm

bibi glad to hear you are having a baking rest. HAs DH finished for the holidays yet?

Silks glad to hear your snow has melted. We still have loads and the postman looked very scared yesterday after sliding down the lane, bouncing off the banks, walls and trees before finally coming to a stop!

CrispyTheChristmasCracker · 24/12/2010 13:42

Oh, yes. And Happy Xmas you bunch of loonies. Sorry that was only an afterthought Wink

Grin
TwilightSurfer · 24/12/2010 13:57

You all make my days brighter!
Merry Christmas!Xmas Smile

RedLentil · 24/12/2010 13:59

Dublin airport is getting a bit chaotic. Hoping the Birmingham flight gets out on time.

I've just finished filling in the North Pole thing too. We're into town and then we'll watch it once we're back here. Smile

My sister could only call in for a few minutes so the pizza bases I made last night for lunch are now going to dinner. I'm accidentally ahead of myself for the firs time in days. Yay! Smile

Lovely, lovely nutters, the lot of you.

UrsulaUnderTheMistletoe · 24/12/2010 15:44
luckoftheirish · 24/12/2010 17:18

loti is back Smile cos i need all the luck in the world right now to get dad here..

what i wanted to say was that i think you are all truly amazing and your support to me this year has been wonderful/fantastic and i don't know what i would have done without you all

Merry Christmas dear dear friends xxx

CaptainCaveman · 24/12/2010 17:46

Praying for your dads flight loti, nice to see you back in familiar clothes, and thank you for the christmas card!

urs are you pissed already? Xmas Grin

I did the PNP thing for ds1 earlier, his face was a pure delight to see whilst he watched it. He kept nodding like Santa was talking to him live, and when he saw his best friends' name in Santa's book, he looked at me stunned Xmas Grin. Such a wonderful age Xmas Smile

I'll say this whilst I haven't had a glass of wine, so you dont' think I'm being a lush - I love you hairy truckers. you are all very wise, caring, kind and willing to help/guide/support. I'm so glad I happened to fall pregnant around the same time you all did Smile. Cheers! xxx

blueberrysantabait · 24/12/2010 18:00

Thank you wonderful ladies for my birthday wishes - I have had a wonderful day and been truly spoilt.

We have just had the Christmas fairy visit, outside the front door she left a parcel containing stockings, new PJs, a Peppa Pig Christmas DVD and a pack of mini marshmallows. DD1 was in awe that this appeared on the doorstep and we were all in the sitting room when the doorbell rang!

Thank you all for being here this year for celebrating the arrival of DD2 and for being there to listen to my may moans and groans. Ou are an amazing lot and I am honoured to know you all. xx
