Oh dear bbbbbbbb I hope his forecast doesn't come true. Snow destroyed things here for a couple of weeks but I think in the UK you are generally slightly better prepared than we are with gritting, salting etc, and more efficient at doing it. (Pains me to say it of course! Grin) So hopefully things will be ok for your sale on Sat.

HippyChristmaspotamus · 17/12/2010 09:10

i had a night out!!! well a couple of hours but it was brill! first time i've been out in absolutely yonks! lovely seeing work people. P decided she was hungry when i had my manager on one side and assistant manager on the other. No problem, i managed to dress so i could feed discretely...its just a pity i forgot to tell P that she needed to be discrete! partly my manager's fault though, he started chatting to her and she decided that was more interesting than milk so came off boob and i flashed everyone at the table but was actually really funny!
really tired this morning, i'm not used to late nights!

bbbbbb give him a hug and remind him you're there to support him (still don't blame you for the costa though!)

bibi spare cakes? nope, sorry i don't understand this concept!!

santa did you have fun?

silk i'm loving your christmas tree styling!

hiya cc Xmas Smile

better go, ds is randomly pressing buttons on the freeview, dvd player and tv.. apparently he's going to 'watch ballamory RIGHT NOW please!'
i need to find out where he got 'right now' from Xmas Hmm
i just told him off for touching the buttons and his reply was 'mummy i said please' Which to be fair, he did but i'd said no!
i'm being amazed every day with the way his language is improving

HippyChristmaspotamus · 17/12/2010 09:14

morning ursula, cross post with you there Xmas Smile

christmas lunch with dad today so i really do need to go now! haven't wrapped his presents yet but as half of his present is in a depot somewhere, it won't take as long as it should do!

santashappychick · 17/12/2010 09:20

dd2 still sporting a temp of 100% managed to get some calpol down her thankfully, know its just a virus tho so will have to administer lots of cuddles.. its a pity she prefers daddy when she is poorly tho.. he is at work!!

CrispyTheCrisp · 17/12/2010 11:15

Morning

Had a lovely 7 course lunch yesterday and lots of lovely comments about my dress (even from men!). I also put a flower in my hair so i think they all thought i was more arty and interesting than i am Grin

Left London at 8pm and got home at 11.30pm. Grrrrr. I was very tired and DD2 coming in 3 times in the night was little help

maisy glad DS came through his op well and still happy to pee. LOL @ the washing machine - most people only use 1 setting apparently so basic is the way to go

ursula we are last school day here - off to the party in 15 mins (crap and i need to wrap the pressie - eek)

hipps Glad you got a night out and LOL at P flashing your bits Grin

santa good on you for your mummies night, well, well deserved after all the crap and caring you have had to put up with/do

BBBB hope the PILs make it back ok and can help DH be a bit less stressed. Snow mainly forecast tomorrow now i think

Right, best go and get ready. Laters...

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 17/12/2010 11:21

Lovely to hear of nights out etc. Xmas Smile You all deserve them and so much more.

Thanks for the kind words everyone, I am feeling less sick today and thus worried sick about something being wrong Hmm FFS. Had forgotten how slowly these first 12 weeks go.

Speaking of which, Merlion are you out there? Hope things are going well for you.

Merlion · 17/12/2010 12:49

Speak of the devil Grin

Am back from sunny Western Australia. We had a lovely time. DS thoroughly enjoyed himself - DH and MIL obviously did far too much wine tasting and DS declared yesterday that for Christmas he'd like to 'try some wine' but it's ok because apparently beer is 'yucky yucky' Hmm Blush.

Star - I was in constant panic and like you and Pert definitely felt sicker in the evenings but it has worn off almost completely now and I have got my appetite back which is probably not a good thing!

Maisy hope DS recovering well.

Bibi hope you are warm and toasty now

Ursula have a fab time away. Am thinking DH and I could do with similar as have been very snappy with him lately as v.tired and emotional (not a very good excuse I know) and DS sleep is terrible at the moment - sounds like BBBB's DD1.

Santa hope DDs feeling better today.

Cece good news on DH's job hope that you get good news before Christmas so you are able to enjoy properly.

Hi to everyone else - still catching up!

blueberrysantabait · 17/12/2010 19:36

Helloo

Frrreeezzzing here heating went off again whilst we were out so came home to a cold house, man has been sorted it and now I am blasting the heat to try and warm the house.

I also have to go out and get things for the shop for tomorrow morning, Dsis was coming down but is stuck somewhere in Wales and isn't planning on going anywhere until she goes to SA next week.

Merlion - I was breathalised last week as part of a local police force 'post-christmas lunch crackdown' DD1 kindly announced to the policeman that I was drinking wine in the car. I was drinking diet coke!

We had about an inch of snow in 20mins earlier now it has frozen solid and we are expecting more. DH much more relaxed now there is some backup at work.

Star - how many weeks are you now?

PertyPru · 17/12/2010 19:56

I know it wasn't me being asked, but for the thread stats-lovers I'm 8 wks today. First hospital appt next Weds, scan mid-January. Star it could be worse, the next two weeks at least will be busy enough to go fast-ish? . Now that my slight cold is disappearing I am once again repulsed by random smells: today, detergent, and especially the dishwasher. Handy Hmm

Our snow is just like yours BBSB, it all fell in the same 20 minutes - sadly - in which I was trudging home from the supermarket. Pushchair was like a mobile igloo (yes I had the rain cover on).

DD is such a sponge that it's enticing me to play up the Santa business more than I would have expected to Xmas Grin. Today she took all her magnetic letters off the fridge and 'packed them' in a box 'to get ready for Christmas' because 'Father Christmas will bring me some new ones'. Shock Well yes he will actually but how do you know?
Confused

Reminds me - I just about met the Secret Santa posting deadline but considering conditions (reportedly) between here and where it's going I should have done it sooner. Sorry Secret Santee.

Well done on having nights out, Hip, Santa, Crisp (7 courses Xmas EnvyXmas Grin). And a holiday Merlion! Xmas Envy again. Sounds lovely.

blueberrysantabait · 17/12/2010 20:11

Perty - I wasn't expecting to have to do the whole CHristmas/Father Christmas thing properly this year either but DD has it all sussed and was making space in the dolls house for the new Sylvanians. She told me she needed to write him a letter and then he would know where to put things. Have you done the Portable North Pole thing for her yet? We did one for DD1 and uploaded pictures and events - she was amazed that Father Christmas knew all about her life.

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 17/12/2010 20:47

bbbb I'm only 6 weeks. Time stretches ahead.

Perty glad, in a perverse way, to have company in the whole insane-sense-of-smell business.

Your girls are much more on top of things than DS. He just loves the pretty lights and 'singing' along to Christmas songs Grin

CrispyTheCrisp · 17/12/2010 21:35

To pregnancies, fixed boilers and Xmas Smile

Love you all

CrispyTheCrisp · 17/12/2010 22:02

Oi, where are you all? Confused

On the 'Friday night' topics? Wink

CrispyTheCrisp · 17/12/2010 22:14

FjorgynAndHotWater · 17/12/2010 22:16
