Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
maisyandpandulce · 15/12/2010 23:29

Thank you all for the thoughts. Home now. DS groggy and DD grumpy. I need to cook. Love to all.

HippyChristmaspotamus · 16/12/2010 09:19

helloooooo

maisy, i was thinking about you the other day and wondering when his op was going to be. hope he recovers quickly

bbbbbbb i don't blame you for the costa removal service you carried out for your dh! i'd have done the same! in fact it would have taken me great restraint to not throw it all at my dh if he'd said the same!

cc so pleased that things seem like they're going to work out for your dh. when will you know for sure what's happening?

crisp i agree, that dress is gorgeous!

santa how are the dds today?

ursula i agree, i love your ramblings too! T was the same as E re santa! he'd seen all the others getting a peppa bloody pig book and decided that it was a worthy reward for going near a strange man dressed in a red suit!
is there any hope for the car?

silks yup been there, done that and most definitely have the t-shirt! my best moment was when i was moaning about not having a proper area to sew in and realising half way through that actually, since i've moved my sewing cabinet into the dining room it has been alot better (i can still see dCs in the living room but T not distracted with what i'm doing so plays with his toys better). So i had to change track in my moaning and it really didn't work v well Blush

bibi has THE dress been worn yet? you have to get a photo if she does put it on!

dh has been a different man! one of the things that upset me was he always pointed out what was wrong with something eg i'd cook a meal for him and the carrots wouldn't be cooked enough. i'd spend ages cleaning the kitchen and the living room would need hoovering. etc. i'm sure you get the idea! but now, he's commenting on all the good things, not being negative at all, thanking me for helping him (even when i don't think i have actually helped him!) etc etc. Its such a lovely atmosphere, it feels lighter.

HippyChristmaspotamus · 16/12/2010 09:19

oh and good morning all!

UrsulaUnderTheMistletoe · 16/12/2010 10:06

Healing thoughts to him, maisy.

Wotcher hipster, great to hear dh is being so good and that you have a light'n'lovely atmosphere before Christmas.

No hope for car. It's 10 yrs old so I suppose not that surprising but it always seemed such a reliable thing. Not sure if we will replace it but also not sure how we will adapt, I have always driven my own car since before we were together and I do equate it to independence. Perhaps I will just have to grow up a bit! Sharing is caring Hmm

HippyChristmaspotamus · 16/12/2010 10:26

sharing is caring my arse! ds has just scoffed half of my toast! especially unfair given that its his second breakfast and my first one!

RedLentil · 16/12/2010 11:16

Sharing is boring as DD1 says.

Bad luck on the car. Sad

santashappychick · 16/12/2010 11:45

So glad to hear things are good at chez hip Grin

hope all is well maisy [hugs]

that is a complete bummer on the car ursula Sad

dd1 100% for a change hurrah .... Dd2 still sporting temp tho!! If I could have a week or two of nobody in my house I would be a very happy girl!!!

Have a mummy's night tonight woo hoo Xmas Grin

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 16/12/2010 13:23

Swit swoo Crisp, that is a gorgeous dress/shoe combo and you will look totally killer :)

hippy what good news. Long may it continue! (Not the toast sharing.)

maisy glad to hear DS is home and healing.

to everyone else. Still feeling mightily sick and pretty blah about everything, so not much to say for myself. We had our work Christmas meal last night; I snuck off early so as to avoid the drinking, and half the people who were there get to find out today whether they keep their job or not. It wasn't exactly a Russ Abbott atmosphere.

HippyChristmaspotamus · 16/12/2010 13:34

red finally got up to date on your blog and yes yes yes to reading and discovering new words! i still do it now when i read books and things! Blush

santa well i hope that dd2 is just getting it all out of her system now so she's gets it out the way for christmas. what are you up to tonight?

star you know its just your whoremoans don't you but it might help if you do something extra nice with J

just found out its my work christmas meal tonight. v tempted to tag along with P and get mum over to babysit. (dh is out tonight on his work do). hmm, i guess i won't know til i ask her

santashappychick · 16/12/2010 13:45

Go for it hip! I am going for a nice meal with 6 other mummies Xmas Smile

sorry you are feeling so rough star but hopefully that's a v good sign. Hope work goes ok for you today!

Meant to say crisp you will look fab Smile

HippyChristmaspotamus · 16/12/2010 13:53

hurrah! sis is free tonight Xmas Grin

santashappychick · 16/12/2010 14:56

ok tell it to stop snowing haven't had a night out in ages lol Xmas Smile

blueberrysantabait · 16/12/2010 15:40

Santa - we have rain if you want it? I went out and bought DD1 new warm waterproofs today so it won't snow here!

Hippy night out sounds great, enjoy yourself.

DD1 is totally cured Xmas Hmm overtiredness is very very odd! She is currently being a vet and has various 'surgeries' around the house each with different types of animals, there are farms animals including peppa and george pig, zoo and house animals ( house animals include teddies and animal shaped slippers! Trying to cook whilst avoiding animals is quite difficult esp. when I get yelled at for disturbing the sick creatures when I move them.

Silkstalkings · 16/12/2010 16:25

Star Sorry about the ms, it really sucks. Invest in some decent hi-juice squash t(with no artificial sweetners o keep your fluids and sugar levels up.

Hip Good news re DH, don't forget to acknowledge all the praise and positivity, no matter how cheesey and Oprah-ish it sounds. He needs to know how profound the results are if he's going to keep it up.

Well, seems 2yrs ago when we last had our big fake Xmas tree up, 2 of the 3 feet got snapped off and shoved back in the box AngryConfused. Nay mind, tree is now in the bay window, discreetly tied to a net curtainGrin. I'm now appreciating the main benefit of a fake tree being you only have to put on half the branches if it's against a wall/corner so it doesn't take up so much room.

santashappychick · 16/12/2010 19:26

Yeah on rescuing the Xmas tree silks Xmas Smile

have a fab evening hip

all dressed and made up for my night out Xmas Smile

BibiBelle · 16/12/2010 19:46

I've just told the girls that if Santa turns up next week and sees the state of the house he won't leave anything for them. they are now running about like headless chickens trying to tidy and banging into each other Grin

back later ladies - bed time for the masses!

OP posts:
CaptainCaveman · 16/12/2010 21:24

lol at your tree silky, I like your style with it being tied to a net curtain Xmas Grin

maisy glad T got on ok, hope he is soon ffeeling better. Ds1, although only 13 months when he had his op, was up and about the same day and you wouldn't really know he'd been in theatre the same morning!

ursula Xmas Sad about your car. May s/he rest in peace Xmas Smile

hippo great news re your dh's new approach, long may it last

star bleurgh, ms is not something I miss. Glad to see you are a closet Russ Abbott fan. Anyone else humming 'atmosphere' after reading star's post? Xmas Grin Come on now, "oh what an atmosphere, I love a party with a happy atmosphere, so let me take you there and you and i'll be dancing in the cool night air" (or something like that)

BB we tell similar lies to ds1 all the time. he is convinced that the alarm sensors are santa cameras Xmas Grin

bbbb nice work on the costa 'spillage'. I might have been tempted to 'add' something and then let him drink it. For inspiration, see The Twits Xmas Wink

crispy nice shoes too!

santas hope you girlies are ok?

queen you had that baby yet?

fjorgyn red hello

TS albs where are you?

BibiBelle · 16/12/2010 21:36

OMFG - how did I not think of that one CeCe - we've got the Robins as Santa's spys however that rather limits us indoors!

Hips, seconding Cece's comments about Mr Hip - fingers crossed it's lasting darling.

Star - fingers crossed you feel better very soon. Have you tried actimel - apparently it helps?

Crispy - loving the look - you deserve a Xmas Wink thank feck your parcel turned up - was worried!

ursula - so sorry to hear of car woes. We went down to one car for a while after D was born and it just wasn't worth it. Not very env friendly for us I know Xmas Blush however shift work doesn't allow for public transport and we took ourselves off to the auction not long after! Hope it all works out ok for you and LOVING the mental image you portrayed of delicious E with Santa

Maisy - thinking of you all today darling

sorry to hear of general poorly tots. My lot all have horrible snotty noses and D is barking like a seal I have a horrible feeling it is going to get worse before it gets better, wee pudding Xmas Sad

Dh at work, girls not long in bed and I should be baking for the school fayre tomorrow. I have some stuff left from last night so might just pop that in instead Xmas Grin

OP posts:
maisyandpandulce · 16/12/2010 21:53

spare baking just lying around at home ... nope, we never get that here!

BibiBelle · 16/12/2010 21:55

lol, I suppose when there are 300 cakes to start off with I'd be disgusted if we'd gotten through them all!! how are you?

OP posts:
blueberrysantabait · 16/12/2010 22:00

Bibi - they looked fantastic and the flavours all very very scrummy. I am very very envious of any school who gets them.

DDs in bed, DH being an arse, his OCD is poking it's head and I am going to stamp on it or him which ever is closer! I know I shouldn't rise to it but he is bugging me - if he did it quietly fine but stating exactly what he is doing and why he is doing it (normally because I didn't or if I did not well enough) I might not need to slap him.

Helloo CC and Maisy

BibiBelle · 16/12/2010 22:31

Ah Bbbbbbb what's all that about? Is he worrying about something? I'm sitting here in a bomb site and should either be writing a list of stuff I need to get tomorrow OR doing some housework OR sleeping and yet I'm sitting on my lardy bum eating crisps and catching up on Fringe Hmm It's my way of dealing with stress Xmas Grin maybe his OCD is his?

Your chocolate chestnut ones had me worried when I made them but they were received very well!

OP posts:
maisyandpandulce · 16/12/2010 23:07

Hello, yes, babies asleep now. Quiet day mooching at home, and DS went to my inlaws for a bit. Nice. He is mostly OK with the potty. Today he said "wee wee piso?" when he needed to go (this is funnier in Spanish as he was asking if he could do a wee on the floor).

Oh but our washing machine broke. Top washing machine tip: do not buy an expensive imported machine in a country where washing machine repair men are cheap, good and local but can't repair fancy digital bits that break. We now have a new, basic, locally made washing machine that three local washing machine repair assure us that will be very easy and cheap to repair should this ever be needed.

blueberrysantabait · 17/12/2010 07:21

Morning

Bibi, yes it is stress he has a big sale saturday and 6inches of snow predicted today/tonight and is freaking about no one turning up. He is off to collect his parents from the ship so a little less stress on him once they are back and in work.

Maisy - he sounds very chipper for a boy who has not long had an op on his bits!

Crispy - how was tha party?

Hips - Did you go to yours? and Santa too?

Hope the snow which is on it's ay doesn't affect your all too much.

UrsulaUnderTheMistletoe · 17/12/2010 08:54

Ooh how nice everyone off to Christmas parties. Tell about them - crispy, santa, hipster? I have had two, with two to go! Hurrah for being an odd-job woman, it gives you more excuses. However I wish I hadn't saved my haircut & colour for next week as by then I will have nowhere to go with it! Grin

ds1 breaks up from school TODAY that's a week earlier than most schools so I have to frantically get all my work finished off today and I expect I'll be stamping about crossly till the New Year now muttering bitterly about never being alone. But on the non-work side of things I am really looking forward to everyone being free of commitments for a few days and hanging round together. Hurrah for this.

We are off this evening for an unscheduled night away, 12 hours on our own, should be lovely. May blessings rain upon my mum...

Star hope your ms lifts a little for you. Your name means I keep thinking of two lines - Bright star, would I were / As steadfast as thou art - I think it's school Keats and I have no idea where they go after that! Grin

Maisy did you manage to get out of minding the visitors?
