Home safe, fab meet up Smile photos and gossip to come in a bit Grin

RedLentil · 13/12/2010 17:15

Ooh, looking forward to good news.

I hauled myself up by my bootstraps today: blowdried my hair and put on ancient minidress which no-one has seen before. Compliments and a pay-cheque do wonders for a girl it turns out. Grin

A working boiler is a must bibi. So sorry it's taking ages. Sad

RedLentil · 13/12/2010 17:17

Also, I got to hold the very first brochure wot I wrote in my hands. Smile

Mum called in, looked at it and said it was 'fine.' Hmm Confused Grin

BibiBelle · 13/12/2010 17:58

Lordy - don't be letting mammy Lentil's gushyness go to your head now!

m'on with the goss

UrsulaUnderTheMistletoe · 13/12/2010 18:06

More meetups, lucky duckers, hope you'd a great time.

LOL at fine. Did she have any further comment for the minidress Grin?

My understanding was posting deadline 15th rather than arrival deadline 15th, I was planning to get mine off tomorrow.

See my crap Christmas name.

RedLentil · 13/12/2010 18:28

Just 'You should put some make-up on too so you don't look too pasty.'

Needless to say, the slap was already on. Grin

HippyChristmaspotamus · 13/12/2010 18:29

i hope 15th is posting and not arriving deadline!!!

oh bibi, so sorry to hear it didn't happen today. they really are fuckers and i've struck BG off my christmas card list

lentil, congrats on your brochure. i am confident that its one hell of alot better than 'fine'

fgyorny glad you had a good day. let me know when the next northern meet is and i may well just gatecrash Xmas Grin

silks your colour combo looks great

crisp one of star's photos is of you taking a photo so it looks like your camera did make it out of your bag!

pert forgot to say... one of my 'exploring' sessions with ds at your party meant i walked in on a conversation involving your dh and various others discussing how actually cycling wasn't better for the environment than driving if you're a meat eater..made me chuckle! they were so deeply involved, i don't think they even noticed that i was in the room!

HippyChristmaspotamus · 13/12/2010 18:36

lentil your mum has such a subtle way of expressing what she thinks!

CrispyTheCrisp · 13/12/2010 19:19

Made it back, very tired on journey back, but luckily no hold ups

Lovely to see the truckers again - cece was a fabulous hostess making neverending tea and turning a blind eye to the food dropped on the floor and toys liberally dispersed across the room! Also i forgot to say that your hair looked fab and swishy cece Envy. So sorry we didn't get to see loti's extensions though and try her delicious salads Sad

StarBoy as always was cuteness personified and became garage owner extraordinaire, Thor was running and climbing around but left the Xmas tree very much alone despite his mummies worries. Unfortunately CaveBoy was a bit unwell but shared his toys brilliantly and had a lovely cuddle with Fjorn
My DD's on the other hand were less well behaved house guests with DD1 yelling like a fishwife (no idea where she learnt that from) at anyone who got in the way of the TV screen and claiming hunger at every turn. DD2 wandered round with her pants round her ankles, nicking cars from StarBoy and beating up her sister BlushGrin

bibi Fuckers. That is all i have to say. Angry

Oh, and some warm hugs {{{{{{HUG}}}}}}}

BibiBelle · 13/12/2010 19:29

thanks guys, you've summed it up perfectly!

HippyChristmaspotamus · 13/12/2010 19:38

sounds like a normal meetup to me Smile

CaptainCaveman · 13/12/2010 21:06

LOL crispy, perfect description of today. I'm glad my acting skills fooled you into thinking I actually noticed any dropped food. You should see the state of my house normally Xmas Grin. The cheese was divine btw. I'm loving that dd1 copies what mummy must do in front of the TV Xmas Grin

I thought all the lo's were very well behaved, no decorations were touched (you must have been distracting O) and they all rubbed along quite nicely. Me and O had a sneaky kip on the sofa around 3.15 Wink

It was so lovely to see you gals again today, I was looking at Suzi's fb photos and can't believe the change in our lo's in just 10 months Xmas Shock. Sorry if I was a bit quieter than normal, was worrying about dh but luckily all seems ok. His boss agrees there is v little to go on, no case for gross misconduct. DH sought advice from ACAS who said his case sounded v strong and he would have good grounds for tribunal success if they sacked him. Awaiting final decision, but thank the Lord some sort of justice has prevailed Hmm. Praying for a new job in the new year!

CaptainCaveman · 13/12/2010 21:07

ooh, the lucky ladies also met MRCavey. How lucky. Wink

CaptainCaveman · 13/12/2010 21:12

santashappychick how's dd1? What did the docs reckon? You and a certain other long haired lady were missed today [mwah]

aBrightStarWithFestiveWays · 13/12/2010 22:00

It really was a lovely, lovely day Xmas Smile Very relaxed and relaxing, and the children were a pleasure (Xmas Shock Xmas Wink). Thanks for having us Cavey. That is brilliant news about DH. Nice to know there's still some justice in the world!

FjorgynAndHotWater · 13/12/2010 22:01

Hurrah for some good news re your DH cece, hopefully you will get the final decision v soon and it's the right one.

Oh we had such fun Grin scoffing cheese and drinking gallons of tea. Cece is like a much younger, more glamorous version of Mrs Doyle Wink, Crispy still looks like a single crisp never passed her lips [skinny] and star is, well, a star Grin

Got home in 1hr 45 without getting even a bit lost [hurrah] but it took 45 minutes just to get to the motorway Shock SHeesh there are a lot of traffic lights in your fair city

Arms aching from all the driving so time for a sneaky glass of school night wine Blush

bibi I hope your boiler gets sorted tomorrow matey.

CrispyTheCrisp · 13/12/2010 22:08

LOL, fjorn there are a lot aren't there? Am PMSL @ MrsDoyle Grin.

Glad CaveMan is in the clear, but it leaves a nasty taste i'm sure Sad. Hope this gives him the oomph to go and find another job with a much more appreciative boss Smile

Good luck to MrStar for tomorrow BTW Smile

I will sort my pics tomorrow. DD1 took about 75, so i think some harsh culling will be required

BibiBelle · 13/12/2010 22:08

hurrah Mr Cece

thanks hots, no wine here but we are eating cheese - we blame Sazz!

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 13/12/2010 22:11

Oi, don't blame me - cece is now the cheesemeister.....

UrsulaUnderTheMistletoe · 14/12/2010 11:13

I have had a nosey at Star's pics, they are lovely. It's so incredible to think of all those babies being newborns together - so recently - and now here they are charging around chez cece like real, live children Grin.

santaschick hope dd doing ok today?

Good news re CaveMan, though agree about nasty taste.

Bibi, hope you are keeping warm :(

Am starting Chr shopping today have been hiding eyes since November and saying DON'T TALK TO ME ABOUT CHRISTMAS and now I suddenly realise I have to go and get tons of presents including urgent soon ones (teachers, etc) and have no time to do it in. The good thing is that over here everywhere seems to be having 50 per cent off sales already. A crap year for those in retail I suppose.

HippyChristmaspotamus · 14/12/2010 11:56

cant stop, just popping on to say oooooh Xmas Grin my ss has arrived and so far it has managed to remain wrapped Xmas Wink

santashappychick · 14/12/2010 12:03

hey ladies,

dd1 is ok not great bt it is her school nativity today so she was keen to go in.. why she couln't have been keen yest is another thing [sigh]..

Silkstalkings · 14/12/2010 14:02

Bibi Have sent you a wee pressie off Ebay, not Secret Santa so don't worry about opening strange parcels ;-)

BibiBelle · 14/12/2010 16:32

oh Silks thank you Smile but if it's a heater/camping stove then I'm pleased to say thanks but no thanks as we now have heating!!!!!!! Shock I'm not sure how long for but if it at least takes the chill off the house I'll be delighted.

I've had to tell them not to come back AGAIN tomorrow as I need to bake for tomorrow nights big event and I can't do it with them in the house. Was told by the boy that it 'wasn't ideal' but when he realised I was about to rip his beating heart from his chest he agreed to come back on Thurs.

I have found restraint that I never knew I had and I'm now off to the oven to cook up a storm ladies Grin
