Mery Christmas.Have decided that on the whole we are all [pril ladies] Mainly BonkersGrin

cazboldy · 23/01/2011 21:03

Merry Christmas OOoggs! Grin

Dippy - I have given all of my baby stuff to my brother, but am ok with that, because in the back of my mind a small voice says " If u need it , you can always get it back....." Grin

not that I will need to........... Grin

We did the musical bedroom thing a couple of weeks ago. Gave caitlin our room as Molly was always pulling all her jewellery and make up and stuff out, and being a bit of a pain, also she was sleeping in our bed all night every night in the middle, where she proceeded to turn around sideways and hog half the bed while dh and i both slept very uncomfortably on the edges.
She now has a bed in with us (in what was her and caitlin's room) She is not allowed in until daddy has gone to work (at about 4am) but I can hold her hand and still be in my bed if I need to.
Have only has to do this about twice so far Smile

Think that eventually dh and I will end up getting a sofa bed and sleeping in the living room and letting her have her own room too!

Not ideal, but not sure what else to do really - until we win the lottery that is!! Grin

CaptainDippy · 24/01/2011 10:04

Sorry to hear your news Dooby Sad.

Not much else to report. Have done school application so just have to wait now. Thinking about birthdays - O said she wanted a 'gym-minis' party so I called the organiser and it's £165!! So don't think she'll be having that! Reckon I can get a music lady to come for about half that.

CaptainDippy · 25/01/2011 18:51

Sexonlegs · 29/01/2011 09:49

Hi loves,

phd, great to see you :) Where did you move to, I can't remember?

Dooby, how are you doing?

Oooggs, hope you are feeling better soon and can get some respite.

How is eveyrone else?

News from here is dull. Dh on the mend thank God. Saw the gynae on Thursday - a complete waste of time and parking money!! I was there for 10 minutes and they told me what I already knew back in December. She has said she will put me on the waiting list. I hoped I had been added to the waiting list back in December when we knew what needed doing. So bloody annoying, as it is quite uncomfortable at times and I just went to get on with it.

Had a lovely day with Dad yesterday, although he was looking tired. I spoke to him later in the evening, and he was quite down :( It breaks my heart.

Anyway, hope you lovely ladies are well. xx

CaptainDippy · 29/01/2011 20:09

You must have been sooooo angry SOL, grrrr! Angry So hard for you to support your dad through this time, my love. My thoughts & prayers are with you all xxxx

StealthPolarBear · 01/02/2011 22:49

That is crap SOL :(
Dooby how are you doing?

Doobydoo · 02/02/2011 15:38

Am fine thanks SPB.Had scan yesterday and all is clear so it has all happened naturally which I am relieved about as didn't want anything invasive.
We are going to Suffolk in a few weeks for a few days to see my mum and best friend and get some sea ir,so am looking forward to thatSmile
How is everyone?
Hope all are well.

StealthPolarBear · 02/02/2011 18:02

glad to hear that :)

Sexonlegs · 02/02/2011 20:27

Hi loves.

Dooby., glad things have sorted themselves and that you are feeling ok. xx Enjoy the sea air.

How is everyone? So quiet on here these days.

Our arsing boiler has died :( The one in our old house was on it's last legs, and I thought the one here may be ok as it is 11 years old... But no!!!

No heating, which I can cope with, but no hot water which I cannot cope with. Took me half an hour to boil pans and kettle for the girls' bath tonight grrrrr.

The plumber may not be able to fit a new one until next Tues/Wed :(

May be hitting a hotel methinks....

Bramshott · 03/02/2011 10:09

Oh No SOL - what a pain! Ours was out of action for three days at the start of this week and that was fairly hideous, although we do have an immersion which gives a dribble of hot water. However, I just didn't wash the girls for 3 days! Could you take yours to the sports centre for a shower?!

Not much to report here, except that (for those who might have been following my endless saga of trying to get back to proper work) I have a meeting tomorrow with the guy who is now Chief Exec where I used to work. Feeling a bit wobbly about it - I don't know if he's got an opportunity in mind, or just happy to give advice (which is kind of what I asked for when I emailed him). Trouble is, they are based on the wrong side of London now, so if they DID offer me anything (jumping way ahead of myself here!) I would be in a bit of a quandry!! Will let you know how it goes.

Sexonlegs · 03/02/2011 17:57

Good luck with the meeting Bramshott :)

I am so utterly fed up.

I was up at 6.20 filling a bath for me and after half an hour filling it there was about 2 inches of water.

I feel dirty, cold and tired :(

The plumber thinks we should replace it. The cost of fixing it will be in the region of £1,000+. A new one would be £3,500, so a big difference, but we are going to be here for at least 10 years and at least if its new, there should be little chance of it going wrong...

Eddas · 03/02/2011 19:01

SOl, I've just asked dh about the boiler and he said it sounds far too much. If you tell me a bit about the boiler he might know if the plumber is telling porkies, he asked what boiler is it and how old?

Have you had a 2nd opinion?

oooggs · 03/02/2011 19:36

hey eddas good to see you

sol - thats pants Sad

dooby - hope things ok and that you enjoy the sea air.

bramshott - good luck with the meeting

dippy - all ok where you are?

SPB - things good with you too?

I feel like my brain is turning to mush - would really like to work but really can't until Luke in pre school (11 mths away - but I'm not counting Wink) Enjoying helping at the school one morning a week - would like to do more.

Sexonlegs · 03/02/2011 19:56

Hi Ooggs, lovely to see you.

Eddas, the boiler is 11 years old. It is a Powermax combination boiler.

He said all manner of things have gone wrong with it, and it also needs to be de-scaled.

Don't know if that helps at all.....

I am so fed up :(

Dad called me earlier with a date for my Mum's memorial service. He said he had seen the vicar and wept :(

Hope all is well with everyone. xx

Eddas · 04/02/2011 20:37

SOL, i've just checked with dh and he says if it's that old then it maybe better to get a new one as it'll be more efficient. He said boilers are meant to last approx 10 years. But he also said to get another quote as he thinks £3,500 is quite expensive for a new boiler and fitting it.

Sorry that wasn't more help Sad He did say you could ring him at work as he would be able to supply the boiler (his work have branches all over the country) and woudl be able to recommend a plumber to fit it(he'd ring the most local branch and ask them to recommend someone)

I found it heartbreaking to watch my dad after mum died, he was broken Sad Make sure that you make enough time for yourself x

Hi oooggs

oooggs · 04/02/2011 20:41

hey eddas & sol - fancy a glass of WineWink

Eddas · 04/02/2011 21:16
