Morning, hope you all find me!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
UrsulaUndress · 26/11/2010 20:23

We'll wait and see what happens next week.

Want to come over to HotMamas Beebs? I just started again this week after a rather Blush absence with severe results. Good for you to start in the week of a loss!

For the comp do you want it to run all through December, do you mean, with mini-prizes, or a one-off? Have you thought about doing vouchers for the shop as prizes?

CrispyTheCrisp · 26/11/2010 20:23

Bibi - it has been a two pound loss week for the Hotmamas too. Do pop by Smile

how was your open evening? all gossip please

BibiBelle · 26/11/2010 20:27

ooh vouchers are good. We need to run a competition. KnB needs more 'likes' and Tempt needs some local press coverage which we can get if we run a competition.

yes shall return to the fold - link please

open evening was productive in terms of people looking but not sales HOWEVER pleased as a lot more people now know we're there AND we were judged in the Christmas Window competition so fingers crossed Smile

blueberryboybait · 26/11/2010 20:29

Bibi - I would go 12 days - less to shell out - a little clue or question leading to a prize on day 12? a bit like a treasure hunt so everyone has to answer all 12 questions to get into the draw on the last day. Maybe relating to piccies on either T or KNB page - a sort of Who posted the piccie of the unicorn cake or what was below the festive tape on shop window piccie. Winner gets brownie/cakes if local/£10 voucher for T if local.

Dh out to collect chinese as too foggy for the delivery blokey on his scooter. Snow, fog and 16 year old on a scooter are a lethal combo.

Bibi - what is the point - to pull more people to the shop, or to increase internet awareness?

CrispyTheCrisp · 26/11/2010 20:36

Over ere

Oh, and BBBBBBBBBB, you seem to have got lost too

CrispyTheCrisp · 26/11/2010 20:38

Bibi, i can understand the Tempt competition for press coverage & increasing footfall, but for KnB what will additional 'likes' deliver in terms of sales?

BibiBelle · 26/11/2010 20:44

A bit of both seeing as we're hoping to get online selling set up for launch in the new year.

right - how about getting 12 people to be entered into a competition on the 12th day to win £12 in the shop in Jan? too complicated?

OR the 12th person to like on each day gets entered so we have 12 finalists on the 12th day of christmas

blah blah my 12th head is mince - lets do the Tempt comp first

UrsulaUndress · 26/11/2010 20:46

I am about to get summoned for The Hurt Locker so will jot down ideas before waiting for answers from you Beebs, I know this may not exactly suit! Not sure do you want internet fans or actual bods in shop. You can adapt any of these you like, I suppose. Errrm

12 Days of Christmas - Christmas card competition - can use any of the 12 days themes - partridge, drummers, etc. Pick 12 winners and if they send you the cards you will sell them? Or just have a one-wall exhibition of them?

Christmas Cakes - suggestions for alternative Christmas cakes, including cupcake-sized cakes. They don't have to do recipes, just give the idea.

Suggestions for Christmas music for you to play in the shop? (The Temptations!) And you send the winner the CD they have chosen?

Advent, you could have one a week for the four weeks of Advent (is it ok to mix religion with cake? check with ALBS)

I am longing for you to have a competition called Tempt Fate but I'm not sure what it's about.

Temptingest Tea Party? People have to come up with a fantasy tea party, ie nominate six guests, what they would eat & drink, and then you shortlist entries and the public / FB fans etc have to vote for the one they would most like to attend? The winner gets a box of brownies to kick off a real tea party, or a tenner voucher for goodies. Voucher good because drags people in. OR if there is a day the shop is closed the winner could have a tea party with friends IN the shop & you would pour tea and provide cakes (you will knee me in the groin for suggesting that. perhaps not practical Grin nor enjoyable).

You could do the thing they do in the Beano or whatever, people have to post a photo of themselves eating cake at the Taj Mahal, or on a camel ride or at the top of the Empire State Building?

Food photography comp?

Errmmm

Need a better brief

BibiBelle · 26/11/2010 20:46

or the first 12 people to get 12 of their friends to 'like' tempt get entered into the comp to win money to spend in the shop??

or the 12th person to come into the shop on each day in the advent gets 10% off??

BibiBelle · 26/11/2010 20:49

Ursula - needs to be Christmas related - Tempt fate brilliant but not for this one, will keep that back

has to increase both internet coverage AND foot fall

better stats on FB page means more coverage on Twitter/blog and more likely to get written about/ more stockists interested and more people coming / ordering online - all beneficial

not enough time left to organise the Christmas card suggestion and would work against the current christmas card stock

cakey ideas will save for KnB competition but all good suggestions thanks

UrsulaUndress · 26/11/2010 20:53

OMG in the summer you HAVE to do

...

Tempt Fete

...

Grin
BibiBelle · 26/11/2010 20:56

you're a fecking genius Grin

UrsulaUndress · 26/11/2010 20:57

Will think on, am being hauled out.

Bibi you might like these they repurpose old plates into cake stands!

UrsulaUndress · 26/11/2010 20:58

You are so right.

BibiBelle · 26/11/2010 20:59

how about a prize every day of the advent - doesn't need to be an expensive prize - could be a single brownie or a 10% off voucher to spend in jan etc etc

CrispyTheCrisp · 26/11/2010 21:00

Am loling at 'pimp your plates' Grin

UrsulaUndress · 26/11/2010 21:03

What about some sort of Christmas club thing, some sort of loyalty thing, a promotion where if they buy anything in December they can get 10% of the price back to spend on purchases in Jan? And it can build up. How would you do this... it might be good because everyone has to shop in December so you want to channel them to you. Noone wants to shop in January so you want to give them a reason to come in. You could just do it with cards and a rubber stamp.

That's not what you mean though, is it?

Oh I am like the annoying one in the Apprentice who never understands what the project is about Grin.

UrsulaUndress · 26/11/2010 21:05

Could you do some sort of personalised present recommendation thing? You know, I email you saying I have to get Grandma something, I have £15 to spend on her, she's allergic to Advocaat and partial to kittens, last year I gave her a scarf and she never wore it, she never stops talking about rationing and has had 7 husbands.

And you mail back, saying, we can suggest the following gifts:

UrsulaUndress · 26/11/2010 21:06

God the film will be nearly over at this stage, laters potaters.

blueberryboybait · 26/11/2010 21:08

What about the 12th person to tag you gets a 10% off voucher can pick up a cake or gets a brownie by post?

OP posts:
BibiBelle · 26/11/2010 21:16

Ursula - got a girl doing those already Smile and we've got the 'get gifted' campaign about to start for choosing presents.

the % off in Jan seems to be a good way forward

am still wondering how we can work in the 12 days of christmas

BibiBelle · 26/11/2010 21:49

how about having an advent calendar in the shop and who ever guesses the right picture the night before wins something?

CrispyTheCrisp · 26/11/2010 21:57

the thing is i think you will get the same people entering every day (RM???). I think a one off competition with a bit of a 'hook' for people to send it on to friends etc would be better (and easier and cheaper!)

TwilightSurfer · 26/11/2010 22:48

How about a store community effort to replenish your local food bank. Offer 15% off total purchase for that day to anyone who brings in canned or dry good items to be donated. That's news worthy.

Could you have a group of youngsters sing Christmas carols outside your store window on a Saturday to draw interest?

You could create a secret santa competition where each day a different store item is specially marked with a santa. For those you find that santa the item is 50% off.

The voucher idea is very good as is the buy now get X% off after January 1.
