off to bed with my col . tea and book (see other name) to accompany me. Lovely.

UrsulaUndress · 07/10/2010 21:42

Agree re. diminishing status - making whole house suffer. I used to be a bit of a sulker in my 20s, have learned/been shown the way out of it (15 years on!). Silkstalkings talks silken sense.

HouseOfAHundredNappies · 07/10/2010 21:52

Hi girls, have been meaning to come back for ages Blush and thought I'd (try) and start afresh on this new thread with a new name - but almost gave up after I couldn't think of a new name! Won't ask you to guess who I am as would just be embarrassed when you don't remember me! I was LNT about a million threads ago!

BibiBelle · 07/10/2010 21:56

Hi Hazie - hope you're keeping well!! how many wks are you now?

UrsulaUndress · 07/10/2010 21:59

Hello House! Welcome back, hope you are feeling well!

FjorgynAndHotWater · 07/10/2010 22:09

LOL House we'll never forget all the nappies you bought for DC1 Grin

Hippy Sad your DH is being such a child again. Can you leave a sleeping bag outside the shed and go to bed and lock the door ?

It's nearly bed time already, how did that happen??? This 8pm bedtime is working well for morning wake up time but is really eating into grown up time-wasting time...

HouseOfAHundredNappies · 07/10/2010 22:14

I'm fine thanks, tired but doing well. I'm 22wks now - eek! Can't decide if it's going quickly or dragging.

Loving all the new names on here! What an imaginative bunch! BibiBelle? Doesn't that Anna Ryder Richardson wifie have a daughter named that? Love it!

ServicePlease · 07/10/2010 22:33

Ha, ha. Like we would forget the nappy mountain. Your secret is safe with us Grin. Glad to hear you are getting on ok - are you going to carry on CM'ing?

hippy hope you are tucked up in bed with a cuppa and a brownie Smile

Have done F all this evening after a pretty productive day. Must go put overflowing washing basket away. Till tomorrow ladies.....

BibiBelle · 07/10/2010 22:44

House - she does and ffjorgyn already slagged me off for it Grin glad you're keeping well, do we know if it's blue or pink nappies?!

Service, I've done sod all tonight too apart from ranting on FB Blush

HouseOfAHundredNappies · 07/10/2010 23:02

Hi Fjorgyn and Ursula!

I'm holding back and saving the nappy buying until maybe a week or two before my EDD this time Service! I'll stop CM'ing from the week before I'm due (hopefully, and just with before and after schoolers) for about 6mths I think, although the average maternity leave for CM around here is 2wks! Shock

We did find out Bibi, thanks to the lovely sonographer blatantly ignoring the Trust rules and telling us when we cheekily asked! We're on our way to challenging your girl group with another DD!!! Grin But fgs, don't tell Admin! Grin

Merlion · 08/10/2010 04:12

House lovely news - time for Bibi to get started on some names then.

Hippo sorry to hear of continued t*atishness from DH especially the fb stuff.

In contrast DH being lovely atm as DS is being a real horror sleepwise. He woke screaming at 2.30am this morning. I got up as DH had got up the night before but he said as I left if he doesn't settle let me know and I'll take over. Fortunately he settled reasonably quickly and then DH got up at 6.30am took the monitor with him and told me he'd get up and get DS breakfast and ready for nursery when he woke up. DS woke at 7 and I had a lie in till 7.30 when I had to get up for work anyway by the time I was out of the shower DS was dressed and breakfasted.

I have a dilemma this evening as we're out for dinner with a group of friends as some good friends are moving back to the UK in a couple of weeks time. They will expect me to be drinking and I'm sure eyebrows will be raised when I'm not. Am truly rubbish at lying - any suggestions? I am going to drive there but it's not really very far and we would be expected to get a cab (it is even potentially walkable) as it's probably cheaper than petrol/parking so even that might seem a bit weird.

Ursula have you been for a check up? Is there any reason for it or just taking time?

UrsulaUndress · 08/10/2010 05:55

Excuses: antibiotics? You have had a migraine threatening all day? You have an exam the next day & need wits about you? They do all involve lying though Grin.

Nope haven't been for a checkup.

House great to hear all is going well for you too! Congrats on your secret dd. Smile

FjorgynAndHotWater · 08/10/2010 06:53

Shock bibi I didn't slag you off, I pmsl Grin

house yay for another pink one Smile

Ursula am with you on the Sad, in fact have just about given up, although a friend of mine with 2 grown-up children has just found out she is pg at 44 only a few weeks after being discharged from the fertility wing of the hospital as there was nothing they could do...

Is it wine o'clock yet??? No? Better go to work then

FjorgynAndHotWater · 08/10/2010 06:57

Sorry merlion I meant to say, are they good friends, could you even tell the truth? I am always utterly unable to keep my pregnancies a secret for more than about 2 days and it did no harm, even when I had a mmc at 13 weeks.

Really going now...

blueberryboybait · 08/10/2010 07:18

Morning ladies :)

Merlion · 08/10/2010 07:45

Morning blueberry.

I was thinking of the sickness thing but I saw 2 of them yesterday so could be difficult to pull off! Think I'll just have to try and sit next to my pg friend and steal her virgin margaritas whilst pretending to drink the real ones!

blueberryboybait · 08/10/2010 08:25

Merlion - Can you use DS's sleeping habits as a reaason not to drink? Say you are taking turns in not drinking as you need to be up in the night with him and a few drinks makes it harder to deal with the tiredness in the morning (long shot I know but possibly workble!)

I am baking/cooking geerally being a domestic goddess this morning lasagne sauces made and cooling, custard made and cooling, cupcakes in the oven, sounds good doesn't it? Zoom out and you will see the real chaos - flour all over the show, thank you DDD1, DD has dragged herself across the floor and taken a trail of sick with her, Dh has left a trail of coffee to the sitting room, the dishwasher is full and needs running. Perfect it is I tell you!

HippyHippopotamus · 08/10/2010 08:46

sounds perfect to me blueberry

ServicePlease · 08/10/2010 08:50

Morning Smile

[impressed] at the level of activity in the blueberry household. We are just about dressed and breakfasted and girls are doing jigsaws whilst i drink tea and MN. I shall be making a picnic when i summon the energy and then off to W'birt arboretum for a picnic and to kick the pretty leaves. The japanese maples are AMAZING this time of year Smile

Merlion I would just tell them if they were good friends as Hots said. Were anything to happen, i would want them to be able to support me, not to have to hide something else. However, if you are not comfortable, then antibiotics is the way to go. A tooth abcess/infection can come on very suddenly.

Congrats on another pink one House. I am totally biased when i say two girls are just lovely Grin

Morning Ursula. You might want to readjust that bikini Wink

HippyHippopotamus · 08/10/2010 09:14

ursula are you ttc?? how did i miss that!

ShineyHappyHair · 08/10/2010 10:00

Look closer, it's me!! cc Grin

I have just stopped by on my way to collect the domestic cleaning crown, having scrubbed the upstairs am shortly going to do the downstairs Hmm

blueberryboybait · 08/10/2010 10:09

Shiney - I did think it was you as you were the only one MIA. But my brain and fingers forgot to communicate and I never typed it out!

aStarInStrangeways · 08/10/2010 10:22

Excellent names all round, welcome back ShineyHappy and House100 Grin House, congrats on another beautiful DD-to-be, I am so pleased for you :)

Hippo SilkStalkings speaks the good sense. Sulking is just not asseptable, as Supernanny might say (I bet she'd whip him into shape in no time). Don't let it put you on the back foot - always apologising, always explaining. It's not fair on anyone and it does diminish you.

Even though it's hurtful and shit, I'd say ignore ignore ignore for now and when he's snapped himself out of it and apologised, use that as a springboard to start firm but fair discussions. Neither of you want your DC adversely affected, he just needs some attitude adjustment help seeing that. Fortitude :)

Ursula and Fjorgyn don't give up hope :( I feel in my heart that it can happen for you, because you're both such lovely people. The babies of the world need mums like you.

Slightly tangentially, DH and I were talking about adoption this morning. He feels it's something v worth considering since there are so many little ones out there in need of loving families. I agreed, but said I wouldn't consider it an alternative to trying for another of our own without even trying, iyswim. But it does interest me, although it's a hard road to take by all accounts. So many children have a shit start in life, and whenever I hear about it I just want to take them all under my wing Blush

ShineyHappyHair · 08/10/2010 11:30

ASIS that's really humbling to think of people who genuinely could adopt. I really like the idea of fostering but dh rules it out as he thinks it would be unfair to our 2!

Right, good news, the hair is growing back on the bald spot(s)!! Hoorah, hence the new monicker Grin

fyjorgn & ursula is it too early or naff for babydust? Wink Smile
