New Fred. Apologies for dullness of title - we need curly for witticisms.

BTW I had a thought today. (I know - thinking is very dangerous!) When I had DD I rang the hospital and they told me to call back in the morning. This is in spite of my waters having gone and 24 hrs of contractions getting stronger. Can you imagine what would have happened if I had not had the IM this time and called the hospital to tell them I had what might possibly be contractions, or it could just be a tummy bug? Would I have had an unattended birth in bedroom? Who knows, but the thought just popped into my head and now it won't go away. Confused

SilverSky · 26/09/2010 21:27

Boxy Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Difficult situ isn't it. I doubt I would have been very polite about it.

HI is sooooooooo excited about the baybee's arrival. I think labour will scare him.

So far, apart from MW saying head is down, its not engaged, which is prob why I am not getting any BH's. Which is cool by me!!!!!

FannyPriceless · 26/09/2010 22:29

ski / box I am not usually so fixated on availability of showers in airports - just very bitter about the one time when I really needed one there wasn't one.Angry

Was flying from Canberra to Edinburgh and stupidly decided to 'break' the journey with a day in Vienna to see flying hossies, eat cake, etc. 45 hours total journey time on 5 different flights? Madness! I was counting on that shower in Vienna to wake me up and make me feel all nice again. So when I finally arrived in Edinburgh to meet (pre-) MrP I was dead on my feet and smelling skanky. (It must have been troo luv though as he done proposed to me beside a Scottish loch.Grin)

box That's a scary 'what if'.Confused I also got in the car to take Bonnie to soft play today. She fell asleep on the way so I turned around and came straight back home. MrP and I didn't quite know what to do then - two children actually asleep at the same time in the afternoon! Lasted about 10 mins before Clyde woke up.Hmm

CluckyKate · 26/09/2010 22:31

Little Chick is pooped too Box - so tired, in fact, she insisted on viewing the hosses from her pushchair this evening....too knackered to walk Smile

SkiHorseWonAWean · 27/09/2010 08:35

fanny That sounds grim. I hate feeling skanky on a flight. :( Vienna is good to go then - I just need to find my Uni transcript which I had in my grubby paws not 6 weeks ago and "filed somewhere safe".

I am really looking forward to my ski holiday now - I need to get some bindings mounted on my twin-tips, new boots and at some point will probably need to face the truth that new salopettes will need to be purchased - although am leaving that as late as possible as am definitely shrinking with my gym classes.

boxer You'd have given birth at home, thankfully though you and your husband don't seem the "flapping" type and you'd have coped. Others would not have. :(

Bear has his second lot of injections in half an hour. Could be a long day...

Rastus has his jabs at 2pm - am shitting myself Sad

Cosmosis · 27/09/2010 10:31

mornings. We had a lovely day out at the 3 peaks cyclocross race yesterday. Artie had his nappy changed 3/4 of the way up pen y ghent, most entertaining. Was quite funny seeing loads of our friends doing a double take as they rode past us in the race and saw we had the boy with us!

Had a lovely time with FP the other day, we did a boy exchange for a little cuddle and I was most amused by the size difference!

And he slept from 10 - 3 last night so I feel human!!

SkiHorseWonAWean · 27/09/2010 10:32

So far so good, he had a good old scream at the time obviously but was asleep by the time he was popped back in his maxi-cosi and is still asleep. I hope it lasts - although he was no bother last month either. Got to go back in 4 weeks for more - will this baybee torture never end?

OP posts:
Cosmosis · 27/09/2010 10:42

Glad they went ok Ski, Cunty, hope yours aren't too traumatic!

CUNextTuesday · 27/09/2010 11:20
FannyPriceless · 27/09/2010 12:34

cunty Just brace yourself for the scream, and be all organised and ready to give him a nice cuddly feed immediately afterwards. He'll forget about it straight away. (You won't.Sad)

Am stuck on sofa attached to Clyde having a mega-feed. The weekend newspapers I was planning on reading have fallen over the back of the sofa. Grrr. Am forced to MN instead.Wink

CUNextTuesday · 27/09/2010 13:22

fanny have a butchers at the crap lyrics thread - it's had me guffawing

SkiHorseWonAWean · 27/09/2010 13:30

cossie Looks like you had a lovely time - v funny about friends wondering where "that" came from! Grin But the question on everyone's lips will be, when you'll be back in the saddle!? Bear will be attending his first one day event this saturday. It was the one I'd planned to ride in what with my inability to conceive and all. Btw, 10-3 well done!

Good luck cunty with the jabs, hope he takes it in his stride. I've got a sleeper this end - I woke him up for a BIG bottle and he should be down now for a couple more hours.

So I've decided to stay in and be a "good mummy" today as he's had a traumatic morning. Am B to the O to the R to the E to the D. Have finished "The Wire" - I'd like to be the meat in a Stringer-McNulty sandwich. Grin

Cosmosis · 28/09/2010 10:00

ski the thought of a saddle at the moment sends my undercarriage into spasm!! I think I'll be running first - but have to take it easy as my stomach muscles have separated and if I do too much too soon they won't go back apparently.

We had another good night - took ages to get him to sleep in his basket but once he did he was asleep for ages, just about waking for a feed at 1.30 and 4, but only barely waking. He's more and more alert every day and is being such fun at the moment. He's currently asleep face down on my knee - head off the end of my lap, so cute!!

Cosmosis · 28/09/2010 11:00

Ps facecrackers, new artie pics linked last night on my wall by TGO.

SilverSky · 28/09/2010 12:58

Facecrackers! Hola!

ski which season of The Wire are you at??

PollyPoo · 28/09/2010 15:19

Ooh, have not watched the Wire but think I would like - reckon I should add it to my amazon wishlist - I foresee long hours spent on sofa feeding new one with boxsets for company whilst Boo is at preschool.

FannyPriceless · 28/09/2010 17:09

Clyde has been asleep at home not on me for an hour!Smile

I have ignored the mess and taken the opportunity to finally start sorting through our wedding photo files with a view to getting some prints for our parents for Christmas.
(We've been married 7 years.Blush)

SkiHorseWonAWean · 28/09/2010 17:35

silver Have just finished first series - am going in to town tomorrow to buy second. :)

Went to a theme park today and Bear went on his first ride, we went on the carousel and waved at daddy every time around. Grin Really, really lovely.

Quiet in here. I think I'll just grab the jacuzzi all to myself then...

cossie your pictures are gorgeous. You all look so relaxed and happy. And tidy! Envy

We finally made it to the pool yesterday and Squeaker did really well. Loved it until the inevitable cold struck. Not sure how I'll handle going solo, but should be ok now I've done the recce. It's a special parent and baby hour they hold every week with an instructor type lady who had lots of helpful advice and support (such as holding the baby while you get in the pool). Shame about the annoying baby music though Wink

Next week, I might try mum and baby yoga - but it's at the same time as the swimming, booooo!

And I've discovered that a parent and toddler group meets incredibly near our house, so we are going to go there this morning and try to find some friends. We tried another group on Monday - got there and the hall was empty, not a car in sight. That's the second time that has happened, so fingers crossed for today. I really need to meet people in the area.

CUNextTuesday · 29/09/2010 09:55

Droid has returned - 3 months to the day since Rastus was born Angry

SkiHorseWonAWean · 29/09/2010 10:21

Time to pack Homme off to the vets to get him done then cunty. Grin

Cossie Your photos are indeed gorgeous - who is the other blonde lady? You could be sisters.

Curly I hope you get to meet some nice people soon. I'm off to see your friend again tomorrow for coffee, cake, gossip, moaning etc. :) That's bloody stupid that the classes run in parallel like that - fecking eejits. Could you not point it out that they're just plain stoopid?

It is indeed very quiet around here, I can only assume it's because the creche is full of happy people enjoying life rather than moaning on interweb. Wink

CurlyCasper · 29/09/2010 13:19

thanks ski. The group was on and was great - totally BESH-tastic, all of us in our 30s and 40s. I will be returning.

The classes are entirely separate ski, one involves the local council pool and the other private yoga lady. But one of the mums today told me the swimming is replicated on a different day at another pool, so might well be possible to do both after all.

cunty that's bollocks. Hope it's not too awful.

CUNextTuesday · 29/09/2010 13:39

No it's ok ta, just inconvenient. Will have to explore ways of Making It Stop (not pregnancy tho)
