Hello all,
Been away for seemingly forever. Life has been so busy with all the family birthdays, antenatal birthdays, reports, parents evenings, disturbed evenings, snow, snow snow, and snow. And oh, the bugs! They have been non-stop since August!
As far as Isla is concerned, she is nearly walking, very happy and cheeky and giggly, but has had a hard time of late with bugs and also a month of diarrhoea (with the evening/night time wakings for some thrashing around, writhing and farting to go with it). It turns out the Abidec drops she was prescribed by the dietician contain peanut oil and she obviously has a problem with it. Sigh. We stopped BF around the time of her birthday. With the above wriggling I got very impatient and felt pretty physically abused at points and she was happily taking formula from a cup by that point. It seemed a good time. She is gradually stopping the hand down the top thing too (although it's not just me she does that with!).
DD1 is wired to the moon at the moment - constant parties since October and now Christmas. Her Christmas singalong at nursery was cancelled due to the snow - she has missed nearly 2 weeks of nursery in total now
. But we got lots of lovely crafts home yesterday and a calendar with a family portrait. Except I'm not included. I'm trying not to take it personally, but when the Mother's Day picture was of Granny and Daddy has had several paintings done of him and then I am excluded from the family picture for 2011 it's getting difficult not to get a bit
. What have I done?!
The snow up here has been mad, but I expect by now you've all had a fair dose of the stuff. The November fortnight of it was over a foot deep. Now it is pretty much that again and we've got stupidly low temps too. The battle into work is so tiring. Thank the lord for snow tyres. And when not at work, lugging the rucksack and sledge around is hard work too!
I'd really better go to bed. Last day at work tomorrow hoorah! All fingers crossed that the white stuff stays away so we can drive to Stranraer on the 29th to catch the boat to NI. I'll go mad if we don't get there.
I've only read a few posts but sorry scarlotti that things haven't improved for you. Onward and upward. And hats of to the BFers! I'm trying out being on a normal diet now I have stopped and I'm struggling with it. Someone gave me Lindt and of course you can't just eat one... such a gurgly belly tonight
