DS has been playing with sticklebricks (used to be DH's!) for an hour and a half now!!!

i'm amazed! some of the creations he's made have been great but he keeps breaking them before i can take a photo!

oops interesting re hair appt! hope P's feeling a bit chirpier now

oopsandbabycoconuts · 09/08/2010 10:39

Miamla - I read that as DS is playing with sticklebacks and though poor fish Hmm DD1 better after 2 bowls of berries and a banana.

Can anyone throw some light on what to get DD for her birthday? No more Peppa (soon to be bacon) Pig, we have a little dog in a box that come with a vet set, a couple of t-shirts and new cutlery/plate set. I think it is enough as she will get so much from elsewhere and we can just put the rest of the money DH would have wasted spent into her bank account.

MrsMiamla · 09/08/2010 10:42

that sounds like plenty to me. we only got DS a couple of things because we guessed he'd be inundated by others!

TwilightSurfer · 09/08/2010 12:29

Oops I've been buying and giving R presents for two weeks now. DD1 & I are calling the process Birthday Month.Hmm Not sure she'll have anything to open on her birthday but kinda thinking she won't care. Sorry I guess all that was to say I've no present ideas.Smile

Miamla I didn't go to my last hair appointment pre-R because of contractions. We went to the hospital instead. False alarm. The bloody show though was about a week before R was born so matches what Oops said.Smile

Cyteen sounds like you are in the forest and can't see the trees. It took me 5 years to find a balanced spot to stand after my mother died. I'm not quite sure how long it took my brother but he made some bad choices in that 5 year span as well. It may be that instead of trying to find the family bond, maybe you need to find your own individual balance. There's a small desire I'm sure for life to be the same but life isn't. Not for you or anyone else in your family and that's okay. Look it at like each of you is a billiard ball being knocked around by an emotional pool stick. Sometimes you're close and other times you're not. Eventually someone(or something) will re-rack you all. Time can be a wonderful thing. Disclaimer: Please ignore this if you want.Wink

Hey,

Completely shattered after yesterday bbq, food went down a treat and dd2 adored when we sang happy birthday! Looking forward to doing it all again on Thursday!!

Re presents, got dd2 a new kitchen and some books, have learnt our lesson dd1 after buying her too much.

Hugs cyteen no advice but thinking of you..

MrsM won't be long now grin..

Dizzy planning on watch all three episodes of Sherlock tonight!!

Crispy your empire is almost in place!!! Grin..

watcha cece/oops/pert and anyone else i have missed Smile

cyteen · 09/08/2010 14:01

Thanks all. We've actually had a much better morning, visiting the local museum - everyone seemed a lot more relaxed, although still not likely to win any prizes for the most functional family.

TS I do know what you're saying but the truth is, we were fucked up before Si got ill. The last twenty years have seen us solidify in our ways like peas in aspic. Losing Si through such hideous circumstance was just the final death blow to any chance of working it out.

I do love them, in case my diatribe doesn't make that clear. They're good people. I know that, compared to many, I am v v lucky to be able to get together with them and enjoy myself at all. It's just knackering, having so much bad shit going unsaid all the time.

Anyway, hello to you all

TwilightSurfer · 09/08/2010 19:36

It's almost time for tennis clinic. This day could not move any slower!

R is now signed up for mommy & me dance class and dd1 is signed up for jazz dance class.

found my new favorite meal: onion rings and southern style green beans (beans cooked with lots of salty bacon). this goes very well with lemonade. Smile

Hugs cyteen I think I understand what you are saying, as we play similar games in our family. Different circumstances I fully appreciate, but I do find it fucked up odd that my mum thinks I might be interested in what my brother is up to Hmm. He's a sex offender who majorly fucked my life up, why should I give a shit? Wow, that fell out of my head in a hurry! I think the ideal family is something that precious few people are lucky to have (except me of course, we will be perfect will dh, me and the boys Wink). That doesn't make it suck or hurt any less, it just helps me to think that i'm not the only one.
Rambling? Random? Me? Grin Huge congrats to J btw for language explosion

Miamla that little pea will be here very soon!!! Glad you've got your lacey thong packed, you're all set now gal Grin

crispy how did you get on with the business setting up today?

MrsMiamla · 09/08/2010 21:06

good evening one and all
blimey, today has been exhausting but i did manage to get my hair cut. Mum too tired after having DS yday to look after him during my hair appt so he came too. all things considered he was really good but it would have been alot easier if he'd been at mum's. hey ho. as mum would say, we chose to have two children.... I was counting on having to be on my own so much during these last few weeks though. had horrible realisation today that if things kick off while DH is at work he's got an hour to get home, then 40mins to get DS to mum's and back again. I'm really worried he's going to miss it.... With DS, I wasn't convinced he was actually on his way until 4hrs before he was born.
but, as DH keeps telling me, i need to focus on being positive
saw my sister today and she freaked when I had a surge, practice or otherwise, in front of her! then Pea had a huge wriggle so that freaked her out even more

not sure how many more days like today i can do

CrispyTheCrisp · 09/08/2010 21:14

Evening Smile

Have finally emerged from the computer and everything sent off . Very tired now, but glad tis all done for now

{{{Hugs}}} to Cyteen and miamla for testing days

Not sure i will get a chance to post before we are off (early tomorrow), so i will wish you all good night and good luck for Pea's arrival Smile

Sorry to miss everyone off, but i have to go and sort out our shit pile house Hmm

oopsandbabycoconuts · 09/08/2010 21:14

Miamla - it will all be worth it in the end - I promise! :) If your body is doing this practising now just think how ready it will be for the 'real' thing. And DH will make it and if it is the middle of the night and things go too fast the chance is DS will sleep through the whole thing.

Helloooo Cavey - are yuo stiff post hockey yesterday.

MrsMiamla · 09/08/2010 21:25

oh i'm ok really crisp so cyteen can have the hugs you sent to me. well done on getting everything done today and hope you have a really brill time on the emerald isle Envy

thanks oops. you see, i know that already, i know it will all be worth it and that's what i was trying to get from dh earlier. i told him just because he knows i know, doesn't mean that i don't want/need to hear him say it.

I feel i've left it a little late but i've finally started on the raspberry leaf tea tonight!

MrsMiamla · 09/08/2010 21:26

i'm off upstairs to bed...fuck...promised dh i'd iron a shirt and i completely forgotten ARGH... looks like i'm off to do some ironing and then to bed
night all

QueenofDreams · 09/08/2010 21:28

Hi everyone.
Hugs here for miama and cyteen

Messed up family here too. THere's a reason I live so far away from them tbh. Main problem is that no matter what crap my sister throws at me I'm supposed to just take it quietly and never stand up for myself just to keep the peace. Father believes everyone else's universe revolves around him blah blah blah.

Hope the 08/08/08 babies all had good birthdays yesterday Smile

oopsandbabycoconuts · 09/08/2010 21:31

Night Miamla sleep tight.

I am offto bed too with a list as long as my arm for tomorrow because I forgot to do it all today Blush Dh also needs an ironed shirt but he can have a wrinkled one and sweat the creases out!

dizzydixies · 09/08/2010 21:45

evening. Short sharp sentences from me, you'll understand why.

Ikea with kids

Hell

Lost Puppy in a Drawer (to keep him safe Hmm ffs)

Hell

Broken hearted DD2

Bed

TwilightSurfer · 09/08/2010 23:28

miamla my "surges" started July 12th and I delivered August 18th. This part can go on forever. No worries though. Just relax into it each time and embrace it like it were the greatest gift in the world. Allow it to make you happy not scared. Fear and anxiety need to be placed in a box and set out for the bin man. When the time comes everything will fall nicely into place. That includes dh and t. Just believe. You are surrounded by lots of love near and far. It will all be as it should be. (((hug)))

TwilightSurfer · 09/08/2010 23:31

Dizzy i have a rule, NO TOYS OUTSIDE THE CAR. i believe that stems from me loosing a toy in a grocery store as a child. Hmm i do hope your lost puppy is found and returned. (((hug)))

Captain (((hug))) Smile

Crisper take pictures so I can live vicariously through you please. Smile

The planets must be lined up in a horrible way. R has been a fusspot all day long. DD1 on the other hand keeps asking in a "I'm better than my sister" way if I think she's been good today. GOOD GRIEF! I have noticed though that constant whining by either child is like nails on a chalk board for me.

To help my sanity I have been trying to teach dd1 The Art Of Silence. We discussed that practice makes perfect and can lead to The Art Of Listening improvements. Wink

DD1 starts back to school on WEDNESDAY!!! GLORY !!!!!! HOORAYYY!!!!!

oopsandbabycoconuts · 10/08/2010 07:44

Morning :)

Crispy - travel safely.

Morning TS, LWFH and LOTI

Nothing much to say this morning - I think I had too much sleep!

MrsMiamla · 10/08/2010 08:23

morning all
TS, thank you! i'm printing off your post and i'm going to make a wall of positive thoughts

Pea's back to wriggling loads so i reckon we've still got a while yet. but as ts said, i'm concentrating on embracing them today Smile They're not bad/painful or anything like that, they're just sapping all of my energy

meant to be going to ds's summer toddler party today. only problem is that its meant to be a picnic and its absolutely pouring here today so i suspect its very cancelled. at least he doesn't appreciate what he's missing out on!

oops i wondered who had commandeered the sleep fairies last night because they certainly weren't here! Glad you took full advantage of them

loti you poor thing. have you got both girls today or are you able to go back to bed for a bit?

lwfh i daren't click on your link with DS sitting next to me or i'll lose my laptop! His love of any vehicles is enormous! He particularly likes watching the videos of planes taking off/landing on you tube. Oh and the fire engines with all their lights/sirens going. I often wonder what mums did before you tube... DS requests that he wants to watch something and as if by magic, i can produce it! ooh and actually there was a great train video we found the other day.. it was a freight train with containers on the back. the train must have been at least a mile long! well i was impressed anyway! BlushGrin

oopsandbabycoconuts · 10/08/2010 09:42

Miamla - yes I think we did DD1 went 7 to 7.15 and DD2 went 8.30 to 5 Shock then back to sleep until 7.30 and is sleeping again now. I had forgotten the 1.5 hours awake then naptime thing.

longwayfromhome · 10/08/2010 09:54

miamla - what a good idea!

off to look up fireengines now
