hiya crispy, i reckon it would be rude not to Wink

but, not sure how able i'll be to do much typing once it gets going... so no promises but i'll try and stay in touch!

hey,,, its not going to be happening for a while yet so worry not

CrispyTheCrisp · 08/08/2010 21:47

Just channel TS and then you'll be taking pics and posting them too Grin

oopsandbabycoconuts · 08/08/2010 21:54

Miamla - you are in DENIAL! This baby will be here by next weekend! You are just waiting for most of the thread to go on their jollies :) As for birth thread - I wanted one but I just never had time between contractions, hopefully when it kicks off it will be the same for you.

Crispy - You working tomorrow?

Pert - Sounds like a truely lovely day. Cake here will be for adults - DD doesn't like it but I may make her some brownies so she can lick the bowl.

Dizzy - I just heard someone on the telly say 'may your shortbread be sugary and your brew be Irn' I thought of you instantly :) :)

Cyteen - Don't worry about the nappy, we all do it sometimes. Metanium overnight and he will be fine.

MrsMiamla · 08/08/2010 22:00

lol, TS was great during her labour!

me? in denial? nooooooo. arse, i promised DH i'd pack bags tonight (one for DS to go to my mum's and the other for me,Pea and DH as an emergency hospital bag in case we need to be transferred)

hmmm, i also said i'd iron him a shirt Hmm

actually, i'm not in denial but i think i'll find this all (assuming its early labour) easier to cope with if it does go on for days, if i assume its braxtons and going to be happening for weeks. i appreciate that doesn't make much sense but i know what i mean Grin

bloody hell.... i'm having a baby..... (ok so maybe there was a little bit of denial in there still!)

MrsMiamla · 08/08/2010 22:01

apologies for random brain dump!

CrispyTheCrisp · 08/08/2010 22:04

Perfect sense miamla ConfusedGrin

Yes oops, likely a very busy day, hence getting all the holiday prep sorted as early start on Tues

MrsMiamla · 08/08/2010 22:22

so if you've got a busy day tomorrow what are you still doing on here now, hmmmmm?

CrispyTheCrisp · 08/08/2010 22:25

Relaxing?

Have just registered business with HMRC but got flummoxed by the NI forms, so maybe time for bed LOL

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 08/08/2010 22:27

oooh miamla tis all very exciting Grin

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 08/08/2010 22:29

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 08/08/2010 22:33

oops bless her for holding it.
cyteen and crisp I often forget to change M nappy.Blush
In fact he has started telling me or taking it off himself. He has done two wees on potty this week all by himself.

CrispyTheCrisp · 08/08/2010 23:05

Hey no1, how are you doing? Well done M on the potty Smile. DD2 likes sitting on the 'pot pot', but not much action yet Hmm

MrsMiamla · 08/08/2010 23:21

Hi no1, lovely to see youSmile
I'm v impressed with m's wees! Well done you!

White lace thong in a bag so I'm all packed, right? Grin

TwilightSurfer · 09/08/2010 04:34

ah how sweet. ya'll were talking about r's birth and the lovely time before ...well ya'll know that story.

miamla denial is good. i think it allows you to stay relaxed while nature runs its course. bury your head in the sane. it will all be fine.

slightly crossed now. finally finished EAT PRAY LOVE. excellent read!

i'd wanted to report dd1 had another glorious day but sadly at bed time she completely unraveled. Hmm apart from the hour there, she had a good day.

off to sleep now. feel free to text me if miamla does go into labor. Smile

MrsMiamla · 09/08/2010 08:28

dear goodness today's going to be difficult if the last hour is anything to go by.. DS really whingy, i put tv on as a last resort and that's not even helping

my aim for the day is to make it to my hair appt at 3pm

oh, and to get some more sleep

hurrah, numberjacks has calmed him down

sorry, my posts seem self-absorbed atm. i am reading all your news but i'm having trouble remembering what i'm reading Confused

MrsMiamla · 09/08/2010 08:30

oh and oops, 'may your shortbread be sugary and your brew be Irn' was made for dizz!!

cyteen · 09/08/2010 09:03

New businesses and new babies being birthed all over the place. What a productive lot we are :)

Well, not me. Have sunk into emotional flatness due to my family's visit. Even though it's been fine so far and they've had fun with DS, which is the main thing, I just find it so difficult and complicated being around them. We're off to the museum this morning, I am trying to paste on a smile before they get here but not having much success.

DS is scribbling and watching Milkshake Blush We've radically cut down the telly time recently, to great effect, but I'm feeling weak and feeble this morning. He is also proudly telling me his colours :) Honestly, the last few days have been amazing - everything he's seen and heard has obviously been absorbed. Since Saturday he can spontaneously name all the colours, loads of objects (truck, choo-choo, plane), is starting to make sentences.

We took him on the model railway yesterday...he cried.

MrsMiamla · 09/08/2010 09:24

wow! sounds like J's doing amazing!!!

as for your family, do you know yourself exactly what the problem is with them? Is it something you can do something about either with or without their knowledge? is it worth talking to them? it may be an upsetting, emotional conversation but perhaps if things are in the open, rest of today/their trip will be easier to handle?

disclaimer:
feel free to ignore me completely, i have very few successes re family relationships!

cyteen · 09/08/2010 09:31

I don't think there's anything that can be done about it. We have just lost all our joy since my brother died. No one actually talks to each other, we just exist in our own little worlds. They do my head in and then I feel like a bitch for finding it difficult to be around them.

I don't have anyone to share them with anymore. And I am really angry with them for a lot of things that happened in the past that were handled badly.

We are all incapable of having an actual meaningful, honest conversation about anything. Myself included, it's not just their fault. I find it sad that if I were having a crisis, I'd phone DP's family, not my own.

MrsMiamla · 09/08/2010 09:37

oh cyteen, i can understand how difficult it must be. you're all superficially having a lovely time whilst knowing that the smiles are essentially fake

do you think they (or your dad at least) would be happy to see a counsellor with you?

oopsandbabycoconuts · 09/08/2010 09:47

Morning all

Miamla - sounds like me about aweek before DD2 was born - hope you are prepared. Did I tell you I had a hair appointment the day DD2 was born? :) :)

Cyteen - J sounds like is having a vocab explosion!

Sazz - are you working? if not, get on with it!

No1 - fab to see you :)

DD1 is being super pesky this morning - nothing is right since DH went to work and only he can make it better apparently so she too is watching telly! She had an early start apparently her mouth hurt - so I looked and her second big molar is making an appearance.

oopsandbabycoconuts · 09/08/2010 09:50

Cytenn - HUGS I am crap with family stuff - I just hide.
