tweakers · 13/08/2010 20:53

ssssh, i'm not in labour! silly girl! i'm not due for another couple of weeks!

TwilightSurfer · 13/08/2010 21:00

Survived pick up but FFS I pulled into the line at 3:16 and she didn't get in the car until 3:22 which is exactly what time she got in the car on Wednesday but was in the office at that time on Thursday and they claimed I was late picking her up. WTH!!!

Just so you'll know all this is because I have anxiety issues with being TRAPPED. Once in the car pickup line YOU ARE STUCK and it's SIX maybe SEVEN lanes with 20 or more cars to each lane. If I arrive at 1:45 I can score a 1st row spot which doesn't stress me because I can physically LEAVE the spot if I want. It's just crap because then I have to wait until 3:10 when the madness of kids getting into cars begins. By myself, that would be fine but with Reese in 100* heat, it's not fine. Today caused me mild panic but I came to terms which I'm proud of BUT... GRRRRRRR!!!

Dump complete. Please don't bother with suggestions I'm working it all out by trial and error. I will find the best way of dealing with this. I am DETERMINED!!!Grin

Tweakers I am so glad the pool is up. I can't wait for your beautiful birth. Smile

Longway those are such awesome words!!

Reese is stuck. brb

TS, i know you don't want suggestions but personally, i'd park round the corner from the school and walk the last bit
well done on staying calm though

how on earth do the children all find the correct car? 7 x 20 cars is an awful lot of cars!

QueenofDreams · 13/08/2010 21:22

TS that sounds pretty nightmarish! I second tweakers park round the corner suggestion.

DP just put S back to bed (again) doesn't help that neighbours have LOUD music playing. Suspect it's because of ramadan? they have about 50 guests round atm and blasting loud music.

TwilightSurfer · 13/08/2010 21:22

Tweaks It's CRAZY. Kids are suppose to watch for their vehicle and when the newest row of vehicles pulls to the front & stops the teacher in charge blows a whistle. The kids sprint to the cars like an Olympic race. If all your riders aren't in your car or ready for pick up you have to sit sometimes 2 cycles of vehicles or be asked to pull out of pick up and start over.

Funny you mention parking round the corner. I did park at the church across the street today and wait. A friend saw me and stopped to chat about school stuff. So it was a win-win.

It's just a crazy process and I feel isolated with me fear about it. I hope that confronting sorta head on like this is helping. I'm considering digging out my Xanax though. It's just that unnerving to me.

But I'm doing it with a Grin!

TwilightSurfer · 13/08/2010 21:24

LOL! The "next door or across the street" part is almost a 90 degree angle and 3 football fields long. Slightly a hike but I've done it....once.Confused

OP posts:
tweakers · 13/08/2010 21:49

i think i'd prefer the hike over sitting in a hot car with R for ages

the whole system does sound absolutely crazy though!

i'm impressed you're keeping a Grin on your face!

TwilightSurfer · 13/08/2010 22:30

I ♥ the fact Pea might be born into a world filled with laughter. Tweakers you and DH need to keep that up. What an incredible birth story that would make!! I had a belly laugh and out she popped! LOL!Grin

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 13/08/2010 22:31

♥ = loveHmm

tweakers · 13/08/2010 22:37

I ♥ you TS Grin

i was crying because i was laughing so much! Had to leave the room and do some controlled breathing. I'm just pleased my pelvic floor stood up to the job!

tweakers · 14/08/2010 06:49

ladies, come on... i was last on and first up... something's going seriously wrong here! I can't be expected to lock up and get breakfast on

luckoftheirish · 14/08/2010 07:19

Im here.

tis a miserable day here Hmm.. no idea what to do with the little tikes.. "h" has asked me to go to an evening wedding reception with him tonight.. wasn't sure whether or not to go but kinda of feeling like i serious need some child free hours!!!

oopsandbabycoconuts · 14/08/2010 08:03

I'm here but on my way out to work.

Can offer fresh hot brownies, lemoncurd cake, flapjacks bacon rolls, sauages rolls, hot coffee and tea. Enjoy

No Pea allowed to arrive until I am home from the shop!

dizzydixies · 14/08/2010 09:18

Am here but only due to pesky bladder, didn't get to bed till 2am as work was mental. Going back to bed...

tweakers · 14/08/2010 10:36

loti do you know other people at the reception or will you be stuck talking to h?

oops no signs of any labouring movements today so i reckon you're safe! Especially if you bribe me with lemoncurd cake, flapjacks and bacon rolls!

dizz you'd better be sleeping and not lurking

TwilightSurfer · 14/08/2010 12:26

i'm here but still in bed. R is calling from her room, "Mommy watch Toy Story!" i think she's said that sentence 50 times since 6:30Hmm. she can wait; i'm not getting out of bed yet.

dd1 is loving school. she's had nothing but incredible things to report each day. i'm room mom again with another friend who i was co-room mom with last year. we've already got our preliminary list of things and contacted almost all the parents of the class to introduce ourselves. this is amazing as we've only had 3 days of school so far this year. i'll need cakey bakey advice later on as we have a milk/egg allergy in the class. i don't want that to mean no cupcakes!

lucky there's no reason why you can't begin cultivating a friendship with h; he will after all be a part of your life for every. it's a win-win for you.Smile

oops have fun at work.

dizzy know you are in good mental company here.Wink

tweakers a day of rest/no action is good. you are only a few days away from an awesome date. my bet is now on the 18th.Wink

OP posts:
tweakers · 14/08/2010 14:49

i'm doing my best to have a day of rest/no action but DH had a lie-in til 12.30. He was v appreciative though and has accepted that it was probably his last.
But he's now having a moan about doing lunch Hmm
I'm issuing instructions from the comfort of the sofa Smile

TS well done on being room mom again, you must have done something right last year!

CaptainCaveman · 14/08/2010 14:58

TS i keep forgetting the size difference between UK and US...so I appreciate what you say about parking 'round the corner' not being an option Grin

only 9 days til holiday Grin Grin

CaptainCaveman · 14/08/2010 14:59

tweakers Am Envy of your dh's lie in! What's your actual due date?

tweakers · 14/08/2010 15:18

hmm, i'm a little Envy of it too! due date isn't until 29th...

oh and TS thanks for trying to get me a foot massage...no sign of it happening though!

cyteen · 14/08/2010 18:59

tweakers glad to hear Pea hasn't put in an appearance just yet - hope she at least lets you get your dinner down Grin

Just a brief msg from the PIL's house, where we are having a big family weekend :) PIL took us all to Legoland today, of course it pissed down in biblical fashion and the place was swarming with wasps, so for me it was a bit like going for a day out in a swamp populated by snipers. But fun was had by all - DS is loving time spent with his cousins, and he had the best time watching all the trains and buses navigating miniature versions of London etc.

Think he is coming down with chickenpox though, or some other nasty viral thing. When we got to Legoland I took his temp and it was 39.9 :( and he is speckled with raised spots here and there. So CC I will have to see how he is on Tuesday :( but he was v cheerful after a dose of pink medicine today, so hopefully we will make it after all.

CaptainCaveman · 14/08/2010 19:40

Aw no, I hope J is better Cyteen Sad, glad you had 'fun' at legoland - did J enjoy it?

cyteen · 14/08/2010 19:55

He did, after a suspicious start - not into any of the rides or owt (he cried when DP took him on the Duplo train), but he was utterly enchanted with Miniland.

Temp is 39.5 again now and he is wearing a sad face :( Poor thing, it's rubbish trying to get to sleep when you feel ill.

CaptainCaveman · 14/08/2010 20:56

Well I'm sending lots of get well prayers to J Smile. Thank the Lord for Calpol Grin Wink

CaptainCaveman · 14/08/2010 20:57

So loti did you go to the wedding reception? If so, I hope you are having fun!
