That is sweet myjob and yes this friend is very, very scatty - always looking for the easy way out and the grass is always greener no matter Which side she's on

Helloooooo?

Not much to report. Still a sore leg on Q and bump. He's sleeping more than usual (!!!) and just isn't as active as usual but I'm exhausted today, too. Not sure why. Dh's friend with cheating partner came to have lunch today and went out to play pool with dh during Q's nap. Now dh out to get us Thai takeaway... Got shred and shall start tomorrow. Is the lady American? I recognise her from something... Just seen cover. She doesn't yell does she? I was hoping for a gently speaking Brit

Lol good practice toreinforce yor decision to stay at 2 then, myjob I'm glad ds scan went well and it's nothing sinister.
I can't imagine bedtime on my own every night with more than one. That seems a bit.... Superhuman!

coconutfeet · 30/07/2010 20:22

Good news Myjob.

I'm home alone at the moment too, as dp has gone up north for a couple of days for a wedding (no children allowed so I'm here with S). I've been busy trying to sort all the things we need to do to the flat before we rent it out (loads, ugh). Have just filled some holes and touched up all the grouting in our bathroom. It's a rock and roll lifestyle in this house!

I'll go now before you all fall asleep.

Star - did you get my email?

I did! I was just negotiating with dh today. I'll email in q few minutes
Cf did you find another place?

I'm not a fan of chaos either, myjob. In my term time i quite enjoy leaving the chaos if 16 little ones tugging at me in all directions... To my one and only

coconutfeet · 30/07/2010 20:35

No rush Star - it's just that my weird email address means that my messages sometimes end up in people's junk mail.

No place yet. We need to get this place ship-shape before we go so it's (hopefully) not empty for too long.

StarExpat · 30/07/2010 20:51

I took Q to 11am odeon kids club showing of how to train your dragon this week. He loved it. He was noisy and chatting Away but others were, too and as a special kids showing I didn't feel so badly for it. Anyway, the best part - it cost £2.50 TOTAL for Q and I to see it! He looked so itsy bitsy in the big seat! We did leave after an hour, because Q decided it was time to leave and said "outside!" as loudly as he could over and over until we left but at £2.50 I thought it was a nice experience even if I missed the last bit of the film!
He was amazed by the big screen and dark room and endless pots of grapes I kept handing over...

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/07/2010 22:01

Oh we are doing our first cinema trip tomorrow star! Dd has never been, so I am taking her to see Shrek with some of her friends (and their parents), and we figured that we may as well take ds too, with the understanding that dh can always take him out if he gets up to no good. Similarly I can take ds2 out if needs be, but I'm hoping that he'll either sleep or feed throughout.

cf - have I just forgotten your current plans? I don't remember you saying that you were going to rent your place out rather than sell it. What are you going to do - buy somewhere else or rent yourselves?

Talking of baby brain, I took the dc out to a park today, and ds2 started screaming for a feed as soon as the car stopped, so by the time I'd got them all out of the car and the pushchair and picnic sorted ready to go, I had completely forgotten that I was supposed to pay and display. Big fine .

Glad to hear that the scan was good for ds myjob .

We are having a bit of a medical week next week. I went to see my GP today because the antibiotics that I got on Tues haven't made any difference to my ear infection, and it was a locum (or in his case slowcum), who ended up phoning the ENT dept of one of the nearby hospitals, and inadvertently getting me a referral to go there on Monday!
Then on Tues it's ds1 who is off for his eye check up, where they may decide to give him his glasses. Dh is taking him on the proviso that he doesn't have to actually do any glasses choosing there and then!
Then on Wednesday the dc and I have appointments at the new dentist that we registered with today (our old one is turning private).

Sorry to hear about Q's injections not going so well star. Do report it to the surgery so that they know that the nurse needs some extra training.

Csws horrid about the ticket. What has your dh done?

Pistachio I hope the visit to gps means you can have some rest! Wow that is a long car ride at night to be up!

Lol myjob - they love to explore toilets in new places! Even my students do that when on a trip or in a different part of the campus!

We went to London today. Science museum fun and regents park Camden lock with the boats... Etc then walked on south bank to the golden hinde. Trains and boats are huge for Q at the moment... I had forgotten how crowded London is in the summer! I put Q in the bath and lathered him up with soap and rinsed a few times. I even refilled the water as it wasn't very clear looking. Gross!!

StarExpat · 31/07/2010 20:47

I am knackered as we walked sooooo much. Q missed his nap and fell almost straight to sleep after his bath, a few bites of pizza (he ate loads of his spinach pasta on train) and teeth brushing. He's in a deep sleep now.

A little boy ran into him and knocked him down so the back of his head smacked so hard on the concrete that people on the bench several metres away heard it
The dad was very apologetic but it wasn't heir fault. Q was running just as much. Oh he did cry, though... Screamed... I'll be trying to rouse him tonight to make sure all is well.

Jab wound still there, too. Poor little man.

Happy anniversary Pistachio!!

StarExpat · 31/07/2010 22:40

Hello? Anyone out there? I'll go to sleep. Have had ice cream... Just to pile on a few more lbs. Feel ill

coconutfeet · 01/08/2010 12:27

Star - I was in Greenwich yesterday for a friend's birthday picnic and that was horrendous too, really crowded.

CSWS - I'm not sure if I mentioned about the flat or not. But yes, we've decided to rent our place out and rent somewhere else (hopefully an actual, real house, with stairs and everything) as we're not going to be in London long-term and it seems to be a waste to buy somewhere with all the associated costs, only to sell again in a year or so. Also, prices have dropped quite a bit in our area but are apparenly now on the up, so it's probably worth hanging on till just before the Olympics when our area looks less like a building site and there's a bit more going on (we're getting a massive Westfield shopping centre with 50 restaurants/cafes. At the moment there's very little choice.) I've got a builder coming later on to hang some new internal doors, fit new taps and do a few other bits and bobs that a tenant will complain about if it's not sorted.

I hate this weather at the moment. Hot and muggy but not sunny. I wish it would rain and clear the air.

StarExpat · 01/08/2010 19:53

It's awful isn't it? I don't like crowded places. We did mini golf at a course with dinosaurs life sized and roaring today. Q particularly loved the "teeth roar" (t Rex)
We had vouchers and it was a nice morning. It's been nice home with dh but this is tooooo long. I'd be ok with just Q, but dh is messy and always needs to be out doing something. I start meetings a few hours per day on the 12th. Kids start back on the 23rd. Dh's school starts on the 2nd September.

How is everyone?????

Ooh dark chocolate torte! I've been rummaging in the cupboards vainly looking for chocolate this evening.

We're thinking of possibly moving up to Leeds, where dp is from. I also used to live there and have friends up there too. We also keep pondering the idea of somewhere abroad. Possibly Amsterdam. We like the idea of Berlin as well but job opportunities for dp are a bit more limited. We're going to Holland soon for a camping trip but also to check out Amsterdam again and see how we feel about it now that we've got S.

Well, we've got lovely new doors inside now. I've been trying to persuade dp for ages that they'd look nice but he thought it was a waste of money. Finally, he agrees that I was right. I need to convince him to let me make all the house decisions as he always comes round to my way of thinking in the end.

Star - what's happening about your flat? Have you had any interest recently?

StarExpat · 02/08/2010 07:00

Our estate agents are horrid. she tells me one thing then prospective buyers another.
She was all lovely at the start and now just totally MIA most of the time. 16 week contract sole agency. As SOON as it's up, we're going elsewhere.
Pistachio did your dd finish on 18th June like us, too? Or a bit earlier? 16th sounds very early! Ours are back on the 23rd so they will have had about 8 weeks off.

Great about the doors, cf. It is difficult to persuade men about that stuff!

Our half term is usually the week before dh's in the end oct. We have a few days off during the 1st week of october for parent teacher conferences.

Contract up in sept. Off to berry or maybe apple picking!
Too much time with ones dh is not the best thing...
