Myjob. Good news about Ds. Will the cyst go down on its own or are they talking about draining it?
Was it very exciting going back to school When do you start on the maternity unit?

These summer holidays are hard work. Whose idea are they anyway?

50ftQueenie · 02/08/2010 22:23

Blurgh. First day alone with the children as DH went back to work today. I gave up at lunch time....

Blimey that was good going. I had had enough before I got out of bed this morning!

coconutfeet · 03/08/2010 20:08

I'm loving the holidays! But I suppose that's the difference between having one and having 3, Ronshar.

Myjob - at your school day. Are you really excited now that it's all going ahead? V of lovely new carpets.

Just had to go shopping for more shoes for S, as he's thrown yet another pair out of the buggy never to be seen again. He's cleaning me out!

Fortunately he's good company at the moment. I'm trying to teach him to remember to say thank you and when we were in the shop the woman gave the shoes to him and he said, "Thank you lady". At playgroup a little boy gave him a football and he said, "Thank you boy". I just dread the inevitable day when he says "thank you man" to a very tall woman, or something.

Wow! I thought M's speech was good CF! S is pretty amazing. As far as manners go, M says please (mummy/daddy/granny etc), thank you, pardon me, sorry and bless you. The onyl cringe thing DS said as far as I can remember is "Mummy look at that old man, he's got a head scarf on" "That's a lady" "No it's a man mummy" "No O it's a lady"

I totally agree! M is a total nightmare and complete bossy madam. Not unlike her mother.....

Oh God Pistachio - that is toe-curling isn't it. Yes, I'm sure that day isn't too far away...

Great sleep. Long may it continue!

We're off to London Zoo tomorrow. The weather forecast is rubbish. Gah.

I agree... a fiesty girl is best!
Wow cf, his speech is amazing!!
Q seems a bit unwell and just did a little vomit. yuck. I hope it's not a bug. The nurse did say he could be affected by the jab up to a week later, so maybe it's that... but vomit? I just hope it doesn't get worse. He's also saying "no" to nearly everything today . He was also up a lot last night.. saying "no! no! nonono NO!".

I agree. If I had 3 kids here it would be a bit more like my job, so it's nice to just have the one. I do not envy those with dc home who are usually in school.

Q has lived in crocs for far too long this summer but he's a 6.5 H... it's so difficult to find him affordable shoes! The £3 tesco crocs are easy to get onto his chubby gorgeous feet and he can put them on himself. So easy! But I know crocs are the devil supposedly...

StarExpat · 03/08/2010 21:21

Hae you been to the battersea park children's zoo, cf? I enjoyed it much more with Q than the London zoo (we go there for a field trip with school, too... so that may be why!). Q loves the Chessington zoo and petting the goats area near us, too

I'm watching not doing... shred at the moment. ...

I'm also finishing up my dinner just now (very late, I know.. but got distracted earlier). So, I'm probably putting on 10lbs more. Well, it says lose up to 20lbs doesn't it? It doesn't look easy tbh but "do-able". I used to do a Tae-Bo workout DVD before I got married... that worked very quickly but the workouts were longer and some of the moves trickier (for me... the coordination/spatial awareness...etc.).

Shred does look like it's pretty intense and like it will work!

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/08/2010 21:44

I think crocs are only supposed to be the devils work for adults star. The devil has visited me a lot, as I have a cupboard full of them! I was checking my 'to grow into' pile today, and ds1 has 4 pairs in the next size up waiting for him.
It sounds like S could do with some cheapy crocs cf, so that you are not mortified when he loses them.

I have had my 'hired help' for 2 days now, and it's great! It allows me to concentrate on ds2 and cooking meals (with help if necessary) whilst dd and ds1 are occupied and happy. Dh goes away 4am tomorrow though, so will have to do bedtime by myself for the next 3 days - eek!

Off to bed in a tick - didn't manage to settle ds2 until gone midnight last night .

StarExpat · 03/08/2010 21:47

thanks, csws. I didn't know that. I'll keep him in the crocs until it gets cold, then. £3 tesco crocs - can't beat that.

StarExpat · 03/08/2010 21:50

Sounds fun with the help, csws Glad it's working out for you! Is that the cleaner? Does she babysit, too?
Is bedtime madness with 3? I can imagine it would be quite tricky.

pepperrabbit · 03/08/2010 22:54

Triple bathtime can still reduce me to tears star!
Holidays ok here, just. As mentioned - it's the bickering, the boys were playing on the stairs this morning , with a ball , when i was in the shower - takes me all of 90 seconds and they were driving me up the wall before i even clapped eyes on them.
DD lost her most treasured bunny yesterday, I cannot deal with them all on foot in town so she has to stay in the buggy and she was having a complete tantrum and must have thrown it out I went back to every shop twice to ask and no-one had seen it. Not happy.
star - all ours have had a mild bug, all had upset tummies, only DS2 was sick though - seems to be loads of it going round. hope he gets better soon.
DD is still only a 3.5 in shoes and the cheap and cheerful ones all seem to start at a size 4 so we're in Clarks at vast expense at the moment. I've never quite got the crocs thing - I'm living in Primark £1.50 flip flops!

StarExpat · 03/08/2010 23:40

Triple bath time sounds difficult, indeed. Q has just woke crying with the tiniest bit of vomit on his pillow. Have chucked pillow and case in the washing machine. Is there a medicine I'm meant to give him? Drawing a blank... He seems very uncomfortable even when cuddled.

Myjob that sounds like a fab day!! I hope N feels better soon. Poor baby
Glad you're enjoying the holidays lovely without rain isn't it?? We just had a bit of a rain but only 15 mins! Our local duck pond has almost entirely dried up!!! Crazy dry this summer. Nice but prob bit great for other things...

Mothercare! Will have a look. Do they do wide fittings?
