Happy Birthday cf :).

And happy birthday for tomorrow to J.

I bought some of those bright bots pants for dd star, but because we waited until she was really ready to train we never actually used them. Good luck!

StarExpat · 16/10/2010 20:29

I just want to be able to go outside at some points in the day when I'm training him and if I can prevent an accident out there it would be best :)

It's not warm enough to go bottomless outside right now.

If he doesn't go for it, we'll throw in the towel, I just want to give it a go.

He was nappy free this morning but wearing track suit bottoms and I was in the shower and he was desperately trying to get into the bathroom for over a minute but I ignored it Blush because I wanted to shower in peace and I never shower in peace except on sat and sun... and... by the time dh decided to come help him, he did a wee on the floor and cried and made a sad face at the door. I felt so awful! :(

I hope your birthday was great fun, cf! Happy birthday to J :)

loulou33 · 16/10/2010 20:50

Ahh Star, poor mite, at least he knew he needed a wee. What was DH doing?? Have you got a porta potty to take out with you? I got one off Amazon and it has little feet that fold up and it fits into a little bag, you can use ordinary nappy sacks and nappy liners in them rather than the expensive ones they recommend.

Happy birthday CF.

Pistachio - i have had those marshmallow things, I think they are a scottish thing as I have never had them south of the border. They are soooo sweet though and make my teeth ache!!

Pepper - hope tommorrow goes ok and DD gets a good play with her present. You don't have to travel with the dogs do you? I can't imagine 6 dogs in a car Confused

All very dull here, jsut a typical weekend then!!

StarExpat · 16/10/2010 20:58

dh was looking up a breakfast recipe. To be fair, he did think I'd just lean out of the shower and open the door for him, as I do every morning. I just thought it was an unspoken rule that dh makes sure he stays out of there while I'm showering on weekends. I will have to spell it out to him. And put a potty outside the door Grin
Dh is usually doing nothing but playing with Q, so I just thought he'd be right there, but he was keen to make a delicious breakfast. Hmm

Oh I wasn't saying that you shouldn't do it or shouldn't use the pants star - just that we have some unused bright pink ones that D can use if needs be when the time comes Grin.
What did your dh make for breakfast?

I'd second the recommnedation for a potette for when out and about - I think we still have ours in one of the cars!

StarExpat · 16/10/2010 21:47

Off to order a potette I guess! :)

He made pumpkin pancakes, with yummy canadian maple syrup. mmmmmm.

golden syrup makes me shudder.

Coconutfeet · 17/10/2010 08:26

Ugh, slight post birthday thick head (fb update for those concerned about my lack of responsibility).

Glad the party went well Pistachio. I really hope you start feeling better soon, it must be utterly miserable.

Pepper - I hope DD has a nice day, despite the journey.

pepperrabbit · 17/10/2010 21:04

If anyone's watching Secret Millionaire - that's my friend Chris! No idea how they'll portray him, but he's the nicest bloke ever. And i've known him since he was 11..

Honeymoonmummy · 17/10/2010 21:35

Happy birthday for yesterday CF.

We went to a wedding do last night, poppy stayed at grandparents so bit of a lie-in this morning. I really miss her when she's not here!!

pepperrabbit · 18/10/2010 10:40

Boo. DD has The Bug. After trogging all the way to Wales and back yesterday - (hitting the Severn Bridge at exactly the same time as 400 Harley Davison riders on a rally!)
she was miserable and tugging at her ear when we stopped at the services and refused all food, went to bed ok - it was only when I checked on her at bedtime I realised she'd been horribly sick in her cot Sad Sad.
Hoping it's a short term ear related thing, not something that'll go through the whole family like a dose of salts... literally.
CSWS - has your day got better?
hello everyone else!

pistachio, have a lovely lunch - have some for me as I've had to cancel my lunch out today! was going out with SIL as both our 4 year olds have their first full time day at school today - we'd been planning it since term began!

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/10/2010 11:37

morning all. guess you have seen on fb that we are the house of the sick today!
ds2 was throwing up all night. On the bright side it meant he didn't want to feed as often. But I was up anyway running to the toilet myself. I asked dh to delay going to Greece this week, but he hasn't :(. Apparently he isn't great either, but obviously doesn't care about all the people on the plane that he might infect, let alone us lot.

Got ds2 up when I heard him this morn to find a bed full of sick, and his hair sticking up matted with it, so had to bath him before school run too.
Then 2 mins before we were due to go out ds2 projectile vommed all he'd just drunk right into my face/over my hair/over my top. He'd had rather a lot too, as I was full after not feeding so much in the night. bah. He is now taking a little nap, whilst ds1 actually seems ok in himself, and it currently eating a banana.

pepperrabbit · 18/10/2010 12:47

CSWS - I am so impressed you managed the school run after all that! I think i would just have thrown in the towel and given up on the day.
I hope they all feel better soon, when does DH go?

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/10/2010 13:44

I think the day would have been much harder with dd around pepper, so it was worth the effort.
Ds2 still chucking up big stylee.
Days go very slow when at home it seems - is v rare for us to not be out in the morning.

Don't think I mentioned, but i've put ds1 down for 2 mornings a week at playgroup after half term, if they have vacancy. It's one in the same village as dd's school, rather than the one that she went to, but am thinking that we might do a combo of both.

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/10/2010 13:47

oh forgot to answer your question - dh left at 5am. He's just rung and he apparently threw up on the plane.

pepperrabbit · 18/10/2010 14:11

I know what you mean about the day going slowly Confused. Apart from doing the laundry, I've just been meandering around the internet with DD firmly clamped to me - we're on the 2nd of todays C\Beebies loop...
Your DH!!! honestly, what's with the "i'm too important to delay my trip, so I'm going to infect the whole plane".
If i were on that plane i'd be livid.
i parked DD at the far end of the playground so she wouldn't infect anyone this morning.
Poor your DS2, it's grim when they are so small and so poorly.

Q loves wagamama, too :) we always share a dish but he could prob eat a whole portion. Wagamama is my fav !

Poor csws house :( impressed you're still functioning.

I hope dd is better soon, pepper. What a shame to miss your lunch.

We've been to bekonscot model village and railway today. I'm on half term . Q loved the village and we spent 3 hours there :) a bit pricey, though. At least we had packed lunch.
Now home and Q still drowsy from car nap so we're cuddling on sofa watching cbeebies:)
Q was a bit of a.... Toddler.... Toward the end of our visit as he desperately needed a nap. Still a more low key day than teaching, though, so I won't moan about it and just be thankful that he was lovely until the point where I had to carry him out kicking and screaming Blush. I actually whispered to him," can't you just wait until we are away from all of the people?!" Blush but all is well now. I love holidays :)

Pistachio - sounds like you're feeling pretty rough at the moment :( I hope it passes soon for you.

We prob won't be going out everyday... Only a bit more time then 4 weeks for Xmas!! :)

Poor you pistachio feeling so rubbish :( I bet dd has enjoyed just being home for her half term with her db :)

Coconutfeet · 18/10/2010 19:14

[hsad] I hope the sickness passes your house soon CSWS. It must be horrible to see ds2 in such a state.

Sounds like your half-term's started well Star. I can't wait till we're off next week. It's funny, I really noticed how much more money I had left over this month, being back at school and not having the chance to spend it. I spent so much money in the summer holidays on trips here and there, and I'm sure next week will be the same, even though we always take a packed lunch (and sometimes a flask!).

StarExpat · 18/10/2010 19:26

We bring all food drinks snacks with us so that does save money. Q got a cake today for £1 but that's no big spend. We have passes to chessington so we'll prob go for their Halloween stuff and that's totally free. I know what you mean, though. I spend a lot more when I'm home.
Will have to plan ahead for December holiday as well! Weekends are more expensive, too.
We did kids club cinema on sun for £2 and went pumpkin picking on Saturday so had a cheap weekend this past weekend! Need more like that :)
