Oh Ronshar, that's awful. Can't your DH take a day or two off so you can rest?

HMM - SPD sounds awful. I seem to remember you had it badly last time around?

Since turning two, my child has suddenly morphed into a defiant, contrary little monster who would swear black was white! What happened? It's like someone flicked a switch. Arggh!

BTW I've posted something on the secret FB group.

StarExpat · 11/10/2010 20:14

Grin cf

Ronshar how are you feeling now? I hope you're getting some rest. After an operation, you should not be expected to carry on as normal. Do you have PIL or your parents nearby?

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/10/2010 22:31

sympathies ronshar. It is indeed pants being ill as a mother.

Happy birthday pistachio's ds! :)

csws glad D had such a lovely birthday!

Q has a scooter and still expects to be pushed on it (but will ride it properly at cm's Hmm ).

Q wants to watch the gruffalo dvd over and over and over again. I curse the day we bought it. cbeebies is so much better! At least it's varied - and carefully programmed so not to expose them to those awful old style cartoons... I feel quite good about letting him watch cbeebies now. Grin

Ronshar how are you doing? I hope you've gotten at least a bit of rest. Is there any way W's new nursery could take him for a full day instead of just a morning to give you a bit more time to rest and recover? I hope DH has taken some time or taken over a bit for you. You have to take care of yourself or else you'll end up back in the hospital!

Myjob are some kids just like that with poos? I had no idea! Sorry, didn't mean to imply there was a problem when there isn't. Blush

I win crap mother of the year award.
I gave Q spoiled milk this morning.
He drank a few sips. I poured it down the drain... it was all clumpy and thick on the bottom Blush :( He happily drank another cup of new milk at dinner but I'm surprised he wasn't put off it forever! Had a horrible nappy this morning because of it.

Honeymoonmummy · 12/10/2010 20:38

God, we never get to the clumpy and thick stage with milk, Poppy drinks so much of the stuff! Don't beat yourself up about it Star. Well done for going to the nurse BTW.

Ronshar, I didn't know you'd had an op - what for? I am not so much feeling excited about the baby TBH as starting to remember how horrendous Pops was at the start, crying CONSTANTLY unless sleeping or BFing, seriously all the time. At least this time we'll know it's reflux. Also I'm starting to get worried about the birth as had such a hard time last time.

SPD was quite bad last time, yes. I have a physio referral now tho so fingers crossed I'll get an appointment before the birth soon.

StarExpat · 12/10/2010 20:51

Q would drink it all the time if I let him, but I'm a mean mommy and have a bit of a hang up about him having too much whey protein/cows milk, so he doesn't get as much as he wants - but cheese/yogurt (but it's not the same to him, I'm sure). He'll probably rebel and drink gallons of it when he leaves for university Grin

For sinuses, HMM (ronshar's op).

I hope the SPD calms down for you, HMM.

Happy bday to T for yesterday. And well done to you Pistachio for being such a wonderful teacher.

It is peppa pig in this house. I thought I had escaped it with the girls but not so with William! Flipping dinosaurs and muddy puddles. Great morning for W on his first day at nursery. Off he went no probs. Didnt even cry when I picked him up!!!!

Dh getting worse. I may have to throw him out. Cant because of the children but it might get to that point very soon.Sad

StarExpat · 13/10/2010 15:21

But how are you feeling Ronshar? What's up with DH? Is he still moaning about doing things at home?

I thought T's birthday already was Blush Happy Birthday!!

Pistachio I hope you feel better soon :) If you had me in your class when I was pg with Q I think you'd have a right challenge on your hands! Grin
Luckily, NCT was so crap overbooked, that our class was scheduled for the weekend of my 39th week of pregnancy - an intensive, all day course and another half day or something like that. Alas, Q was born at 38 weeks. So no antenatal teacher had to deal with me the pleasure of having me in their class :)

pepperrabbit · 13/10/2010 16:23

Afternoon, been AWOL again. Real life can be really intrusive..
ronshar, you poor thing, hope you begin to feel a bit better soon, and therefore a bit stronger to deal with DH. or just throw something at him...
pistachio, well done on your class, especially when you're feeling so awful!
cf Smile.
HMM - honestly, it's better to have more of an idea what to expect 2nd time round - made me much more assertive than I was for DS1 and had a much better experience Smile
I've been swimming! without children - was very very poor at it! Lots of gasping really obviously discreetly at the end of each length - got out when I thought my legs might possibly carry me back to the changing room!
I am very short sighted and was admiring this womans swimsuit, when I suddenly realised that actually it was tattoos!!! Blush lucky she didn't nut me for staring!!!

Hi all,

sorry things are so tough for you Ronshar - hope they get better soon, one way or another Sad

HMM - sounds like a tough week or two for you too. I remember feeling exactly the same when PG with Joe. I thought another dc was a great idea then had a horrible feeling of 'oh waht have i done' i had forgotten all the tought bits of ds1's birth/early weeks....it was all alright in the end and deffo worth it.

DH's dad funeral today...tough day all round. DS1 was fab and sat so still during the service and had a good cry at the crem. Joe on the other hand was 'lively' and then.....oh it makes me feel slightly ill to say this...banged his head on the corner of the coffin Shock. the chapel is really small and the front row of pews is really close (i mean 4ft away from where the coffin was. Joe was just having a little wander and banged his head!! He had the cheek to turn, rub his head and say 'ow' to the coffin!!! I think his grandad would have found it funny but I was mortified, only DH and the chaplain noticed, thank goodness.
Woke up with a stinking cold this morning so am feeling a bit sorry for myself...could be worse though Grin

I'll save up so I can hire you as my private instructor/doula/psychologist/birth partner/midwife if I ever have another, pistachio Grin

You're going to be a great antenatal teacher!

Oh loulou poor Joe's head! And poor you. Do try to relax and get some rest so you can get better - you're probably feeling run down and exhausted after all of this.

Coconutfeet · 13/10/2010 21:11

Loulou, Wsad] what a hard day for all of you. I have to say that I giggled at the thought of your ds saying "ow" to the coffin though. There's something very sweet about the way children manage to lighten up really serious situations (although I can totally inderstand how you'd have been mortified). How is your DH doing?

And Ronshar - Shame on your dh. He should be looking after you and letting you rest.

Pistachio - I couldn't get S to eat that stew either, although I love it. I made it with dumplings in the slow cooker and they were the only bit of the meal that he would eat.

My CM took S to a family yoga session yesterday. She said he loved it and managed to lie down and do 5 minutes relaxation on the floor! I was amazed.

Don't know if anyone's watching the Apprentice, but how much blusher is that woman leading the boys team wearing???

loulou33 · 13/10/2010 21:21

cf - her blusher is a bit OTT and the boys choosing her outfit to be the model was PRICELESS!!!

I have recovered from the humiliation now thanks but DH's brother just told me that he was looking at some old photos with DS1 and nana and DS1 said, 'oh there's grandad..he's dead now' and walked off - can't argue with thati guess Blush
Star - i am run down need to eat better but don't have time....[big sigh]!

StarExpat · 13/10/2010 21:22

I wish I was watching the apprentice Envy

I'll have to look upthread for the butterbean recipe
