we went here this afternoon
Pictures will be posted soon. It was so much fun! A miniature model railway village thing and it was an 8 minute drive (with traffic!) from our house. All very nice and set in a grassy area with lots of trees and nothing theme park-ish about it, all very much like an actual railway but smaller - it's only open the first saturday of every month and not through the winter (except for special santa trains special) and the "conductors" are all dressed up and happy and just delight in seeing the kids have fun. Real steam trains and electric trains, too. So much fun. Q was in heaven.

Fun day!

cf - your DS' language skills are totally amazing. Q is still on one or two word phrases to get his point across. He has a HUGE vocabulary now and says stuff we never even knew he knew. But not big long sentences like that. Q's would be more like, "no ladies..... ladies back...." ...etc.

Pistachio - you make talking about birth stories very comfortable. You are a natural and will be fabulous for even more women when you can get started!

loulou how are you feeling now?

RONSHAR how are you feeling now? Sorry to shout, but not sure you heard me the last time Wink

We got our new washer. Thank goodness! It's so shiny and clean and lovely and they took the old broken one away with them. It arrived at around 10.45. Perfect timing.

We have a new estate agent coming tomorrow and we are going to switch over to them. They are bigger and have more of a client base. Fingers crossed. The other lady went with the other property (as it was bigger) and not ours.

I know so cool isn't it! It was £2.50 for a ride, but £6 for unlimited train rides for the afternoon. I think they start running again once per month in the spring. But there's a special santa train on 5th December that I have to send away for. Should be fun :)

You won't let anyone down! Well, unless you completely change and go against everything you believe in... that won't happen.

ronshar · 03/10/2010 21:45

BOO
Hello.

I am feeling much better now thank you for asking Star. I have had a very busy week. Went to London to see Oliver and it is DH 40th bday today. We had a lovely black tie party last night. I consumed my own body weight in vodka and am a bit fluffy today.

So I have missed Q's bday and S bday.
SorrySad
Happy birthday boys.
W is on Friday. I have my sinus op on Thursday. So I am going to be out of action for him. DH is in charge so who knows what he will get. Poor boy.

Myjob great news about B. I bet you are very relieved.

CSWS I have no words of hope for you. Just get through each day and know that in 3 years you will get a small bit of time to yourself again. Are you having a do for D on Sat?

Pistachio. Is it this week you start to teach a class? Good luck if it is.

Pepper. How are you? It does sound like you have a bit of an infection in your wound!

50ft What are you doing for M on Thursady? A big party, with cake?

W has had his taster sessions at nursery. He didnt care when I left and didnt want to come home with me. Little monkey. He starts properly next Wednesday. Yipee. I cant bloody wait to get him there. I really need to get some time to myself!

ronshar · 03/10/2010 21:46

See fluffy. Blush
Obviously I meant Loulou Are you feeling better.

Pepper How is your blister?

StarExpat · 03/10/2010 21:57

Glad to hear you're doing better, Ronshar :) Good that W is starting nursery soon. He must be excited, too!

Also just sneaking on here to be the first to wish S a happy birthday tomorrow :)

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/10/2010 21:59

Hello! Happy birthday star.

When was S's b'day cf - I am all confused on who is when now we don't have the stats on our thread! Happy (presumably belated) b'day to him!

ronshar - we are having one set of D's godparents and one set of J's godparents over to celebrate D's b'day, and I think the inlaws will pop over at some point too.

Coconutfeet · 03/10/2010 22:01

Glad you're feeling better Ronshar. A good night out can do the world of good as well can't it.

You haven't actually missed S's birthday - it's tomorrow but we brought it forward a day as we'll be at work all day tomorrow. He doesn't know the difference.

Pistachio - it sounds like you'll do brilliantly. Totally normal to feel a bit panicky before it all starts. I wish I'd had an instructor like you when I did all my ante-natal stuff.

Myjob- Thanks for the compliment on S's talking but he still gets loads of things in a muddle - he can't get the whole "my", "your" difference. When I go and collect him from the CM he shouts out "Your mummy's here! Your mummy's here!"

You must be so relieved about B's leg.

Star - That place looks great. S would be shaking with excitement if he went there!! They do look like giants riding on those little trains though.

ronshar · 03/10/2010 22:16

Ok so I got Star and Stan mixed up.
So let me get it straight.
Happy Birthday to Star and Q
Happy Birthday to S for tomorrow.

StarExpat · 03/10/2010 22:22

I know, cf! There were some adults there without kids! Very few, mind you :)

Little ones everywhere shouting, "diesel!" "steam!" "Thomas!" ...etc. I'm still on a high of excitement from it.

Ronshar, I missed that the op was this week! Good luck with it, I hope recovery is swift so you can enjoy W's birthday :)

Our new washing machine is so quiet. It's lovely!! DH even took the last load out and hung it to dry when I had gone to sleep. Shock

StarExpat · 04/10/2010 12:25

I've just been sick after joining a thread about smears. I have one on Thursday and I am determined to make it happen this time.

I am now feeling woozy and imagining the procedure... arghhhhh.

50ftQueenie · 04/10/2010 13:32

Hello! You have been chatty....

CF - Yes, even I am restrained with the on-line shop and you know how bad I am. Today a parcel arrived and I was very confused as I couldn't remember what the hell it was. Oops! Happy birthday to S today. And S's speech is amazing. M only knows the difference between yours and mine because it is necessary when you have an older brother.... Wink

Ronshar - Awww poor fuzzy-headed lady. I'm not doing anything for M on Thursday as she isn't 2 until the Saturday Wink..... the day AFTER W. Then we're going to visit some absolutely delightful people for the weekend as it's there little boy's birthday the day after M's. Wink I was going to add that I hope you're feeling well enough after your op to join in the festivities for W's birthday, but from what you said about the last one you had..... It might be best for you to delay things until your better. Sad DS was the same at nursery, you have all heard my tails of woe - being rejected by the little bugger. Hmm

Star - We need a new washing machine. I think I've killed mine with nappy washes! Grin My brother LOVED Thomas when he was young, DS not so much. M seems to quite like Thomas though.

Pistachio - M is princess obsessed already. I was sorting out her ballet outfit, she had a choice of red or pink. She chose pink (naughty mummy bought the red though, she won't remember). I really don't want a princess-y daughter. Hmm And I echo what Star says, your passion for what you're teaching will shine through. You can fake passion & that is what the ladies you are talking to will see in you. So.... even if you do cock up, they'll love you because of the energy in your teaching.

Loulou - You must take it easy. Even when the outside has healed they have fiddled about with your innards, that will need time to heal too and seems to take longer than skin to heal.

All good here. M now does trampolining on a Monday and ballet & tap on Tuesday. M likes being the centre of attention rather than doing what she's supposed to. No surprise there then.

50ftQueenie · 04/10/2010 14:44

Tee hee.... Obviously I should add that I am sure you won't cock up. Wink M does Baby Ballet which is aimed at the under 5s. She takes NO notice of the teacher but just runs around the whole time, twirling about making sure everyone is looking at her or rolling up and down knocking into the other children then scowling at them when they dare to look at her. Hmm She's pretty good at trampolining though, she's probably going to get her first badge soon!

Oooops! Used there instead of their earlier.

I just want to say Star, I did an Ocado order last night via this website (heard about it on here). You can put the stuff in your basket and compare supermarket prices. You were right - it was cheaper than Sainbos, virtually the same as Tescos and only about £1 more than Asda. And I managed to restrain myself and stick to my list. So thank you!

Ronshar - How long were you out of action last time you had the op?

Someone asked S today how old he was and he said "twenty past two". He's not well this evening. Really wheezy and very tearful. Poor thing. I hope we don't have to keep him at home, I've got a really busy day at work tomorrow.

StarExpat · 04/10/2010 21:11

Grin so glad ocado worked out :) I do an online order with ocado from my (free) iphone in about 8 minutes each week! Bliss.

Poor S :( Q is also very wheezy now but it's just this time of year (well, every season except mid-late summer, so it seems Hmm ) that he gets this chesty cough and wheezes at night. I hope a good night's sleep helps him out.

lol to twenty past two. :) When asked how old he is, Q does say "two!" We never taught him that so I'm in awe (I think cm taught him).

New estate agent was here this evening. Papers signed and will be put on tomorrow. I had to email my old agent and terminate with them and ask them to post my keys back to me. I feel badly about it but they were really crap.

StarExpat · 04/10/2010 21:26

Shock just went in to check on Q for the third time and he wasn't in his bed! Shock he had climbed out and climbed into ours... he was fast asleep on my pillow with the blanket pulled up to his chest and one of my pillows curled around him between him and the edge of the bed (like I do for him if he's in our bed in the morning and we both need to get ready but he's still sleeping, so he won't fall out). Shock

He never gets out of his bed once put in it for sleep! At least he just went into ours. I'm hoping this means now that when he wakes in the early hours, he'll just climb out of his and into ours instead of requiring me to come and pick him up and bring him over to our bed. We are both laughing so hard!!! We were looking in his bed.. my heart sank to my feet because he wasn't there, and then seeing him in our bed - the relief and hilarious-ness of it... so funny! :)

Does your dh get up and get him in the night, pistachio?

That's so sweet to find him there. My dh similarly has to scrunch up into a tiny space often so Q can have space to spread out Grin
