Good for him.

Hassled · 07/05/2010 13:48

He did well referring to other events going on - very statesmanlike. We're carrying on the serious stuff while those around us squabble, etc.

Great speech Gord

LaurieFecktheToriesCake · 07/05/2010 13:51

Well done Gordon. Measured, authoritative, conciliatory. And carrying out his job.

I actually applauded (and I'm lib-dem)

I don't agree with Clegg.

The Tories have 37% of the vote. That means that 63% of the British public did not vote for them.

Labour and Lib Dem have over 50% between them.

With a fair electoral system they would forming the new government as we speak.

wubblybubbly · 07/05/2010 13:51

He's such a dignified man. He's really done a brilliant job to keep things this close, after 13 years and the recession, it's some acheivement.

yy Hassled.

We are actually busy running the country here, do you mind?

LaurieFecktheToriesCake · 07/05/2010 13:52

wasn't Howard sidling up to Clegg.

Reminded me of a dirty old man in the dark at the cinema

Beachcomber · 07/05/2010 13:52

Gordon was good I think - putting the wants, demands and needs of the electorate as priority. This is of course his duty as PM.

Hameron has to be careful not to sound like he wants it for his party and himself and not the people - will be hard to reconcile that with no electoral reform. Would be very contradictory IMleftieO.

If Clegg doesn't go for the electoral reform he should be strung up by his own party.

This is the time for him to stand up and be counted. Lets see how big his balls are.

exactly MmeLindt

to me it doesn't look like much of a mandate for the tories to run things

course that's not the way the murdoch press will spin it...

Agree with MmeLindt - Tories look strong because they have won the most seats under the current unfair system.

Under PR, LibDems would have more than double the number of seats they have.

Hameron will try to pretend they have won when in effect the public have shown (perhaps unconsciously) how rubbish the current system is.
