Hello

OP posts:
electra · 07/05/2010 21:11

Aargghh!!!!! I just looked on one of my friends FB wall and some stupid idiot has written there that he would rather have David Cameron than Gordon Brown because David Cameron looks younger. What a fucking idiot. I am so tempted to write something to him but will not because it would be mean of me to start an argument on her wall

Penthesileia · 07/05/2010 21:12

Yes, I think arnica does bring down/keep down the bruising, at least.

Never was GB's moment, really. Sad. I expect that this will all be the stuff of those retrospective "what if" programmes of the future; you know, like the recent "Heath was ok" type docs.

I don't know, however, brutal, or disappointing as it is, that it would be in anyone's interest for Labour and the Lib Dems to try to keep the Tories out at this point. There's a real chance that governing now could be damaging to the Tories, is there not? I haven't read much commentary on it, though may look at the Guardian website. I've not clicked on it since they came out for the Lib Dems. That bit them in the ass, did it now. What a waste of energy and newsprint. Cowards.

elctra I started a full tirade on my SIL on face book because she said 'whats the point in voting, they are all the same'

SparklyGothKat · 07/05/2010 21:16

oooo thanks for the 'hear hear' (don't think I have had one those since I joined in 2002)

electra · 07/05/2010 21:16

I think there are a set of people who really don't actually know what the Tories stand for.

EnchantedWithGordon · 07/05/2010 21:18

shit, did I do the wrong kind of hear/here?

bollox

I agree electra, but I think that is largely because the parties don't campaign on ideologies any more. None of the parties really said what they stood for this time (or in recent past for that matter).

Frozen peas, Justa. Frozen peas.

Poor MrJusta. Not only does he have sore bits, half of MN is talking about the aforementioned bits.

Chocolate is proven to make pain more bearable.

I am suffering from News24fatigue. But I cannot turn it off in case I miss something.

policywonk · 07/05/2010 21:21

Interesting, hopeful piece by Allegra Stratton about this weekend's negotiations here

SpringHeeledJack · 07/05/2010 21:21

London ruuuuuuules

MmeLindtChocBrownies · 07/05/2010 21:22

I never use hear hear because I get hear/here angst

policywonk · 07/05/2010 21:24

Oh yes and am thinking sympathetically of assorted arms/respiratory systems/nadgers you are a sickly lot

VoteRedLentil · 07/05/2010 21:24

People are posting vile things to Sarah Brown on twitter . If you're on there, a message of support would redress the balance.

SpringHeeledJack · 07/05/2010 21:26

gah bollocks. hoped the Tories would lose Hammersmith and Fulham

There's a useful new take on how negotiations are going in The Guardian

SparklyGothKat · 07/05/2010 21:32

didn't matter who i voted for yesterday, our MP is tory, and it was a safe tory seat, he won with 57% of the votes, I kinda knew he would win again

redrosette · 07/05/2010 21:35

I'm getting so bored of it all now. I think it will all fail and there'll be another election where the tories will do badly because of their failure to organise a coalition govt.

hopes

EnchantedWithGordon · 07/05/2010 21:39

I feel a bit 'gah' now too.

Its going on too long, it was exciting but now my head just won't relax and stop thinking.

I'm going to have to turn over and switch off the PC and watch some mindless comedy crap to stop me from having torie nightmares again

apropos of nothing, dh is in the kitchen trying to drink a mango through a straw
I don't think it's working

MmeLindtChocBrownies · 07/05/2010 21:46

Lots of fab messages on SB's twitter as well as a couple of not so nice ones. I think the nasty ones get deleted pfq.

MmeLindtChocBrownies · 07/05/2010 21:47

That should have been pdq, but pfq works too.

wubblybubbly · 07/05/2010 21:48

VRL that Guardian article really puts Clegg in a no win situation.

Maybe the best we can hope for is a minority tory government, without a broad support in the commons and a GE in another year? Not sure how well that will sit with sorting out the public finances though.
