the cart which is bumping off track is the forces of capitalism btw

it's just a sleek old cart which was allowed to run free and got carried away

like that red train in that boring kids book

not necessarily the end of the world

this is my political manifesto btw

MayorNaze · 06/04/2010 17:00

i may go green. i think.

said · 06/04/2010 17:00

Oh god, I don't want them knocking on my door. Really, I can work out who I like and who I hate without having to speak to them.

SuSylvester · 06/04/2010 17:00

i once voted for the only woman on the list
i once spoiled my paper, in a studenty voter.

Ooh the Pankhursts would be proud of me

OP posts:
SuSylvester · 06/04/2010 17:01

even my paper spoiling was disaffected and not cart-y

i wrote a v long essay on political ideals at uni.

the comment was "you have clearly no idea what you are talking about but you have tried very hard."

ahundredtimes · 06/04/2010 17:01

btw is v pleasing isn't it?

i also like y y

You'd better go and have a gander at your local candidates and then come back and tell us all about them

wastwinsetandpearls · 06/04/2010 17:01

Is there not a website that sets out the main parties side by side saying what they would do on an issue?

SuSylvester · 06/04/2010 17:02

well i would do but it would reveal me

OP posts:
MayorNaze · 06/04/2010 17:02

he only got points for doorknocking as nobody else took the time to explain to me why i should vote for them.

usually i hide. or send dh to the door. i have major suffragette guilt, i WILL vote, but don't feel informed enough

SuSylvester · 06/04/2010 17:03

SUFRAGETTE GUILT
i love that.
god eys we need a party to deal with that

There will be manifestos ladies. We can read them. We'll have a manifesto book group. It'll be swell. I'll ask demanding questions, Su will hand out highlighters and Twinset will provide the glacier mints.

SuSylvester · 06/04/2010 17:04

manifestos always sound mroe Italianate and spectacular than they are.
i have never read one.
lets do so.
how do you get them?

OP posts:
MayorNaze · 06/04/2010 17:05

there should be bullet points. ie i plan to do X about X.

next point.

concise manifestos pls.

and pictures. holiday ones.

and a swimsuit round

said · 06/04/2010 17:05

I know what you mean about taking time to explain why I should vote for them but if a tory did that (and they will here) I will just be thinking 'STOP SPEAKING NOW' I am a closed mind - what's teh Latin for that?

ahundredtimes · 06/04/2010 17:05

Mayornaze will ask questions from the back that none of us can answer and so then we'll all turn on her and say,

'the suffragettes didn't fight so you can ask questions like that'

wastwinsetandpearls · 06/04/2010 17:07

I have started looking at draft manifestos. But what is scaring me is that I agree with the tory ones. To be fair I have not read the others.

SuSylvester · 06/04/2010 17:07

with a nose stud.
I will ask questions then believe anythign they tell me as i am foolish.

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 06/04/2010 17:07

lol at italian. So true. Makes them sound quite radical and exciting. I once wrote a Manifesto for Living in This House and gave it to each dc. Oh how we laughed

SuSylvester · 06/04/2010 17:08

i am 39 with a degree in ahem something REALLY RELEvant to this whole thing
and have never ever ever read a manifesto

OP posts:
SuSylvester · 06/04/2010 17:08

surely you read all the " manifesti"?

lets get that into common parlance
we can start with the Guradian

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 06/04/2010 17:09

Yes twinset - also problem is presumably they are written so we do agree with them?

We believe in a fairer society

We believe in social responsibility

We believe in a high standard of education

MayorNaze · 06/04/2010 17:09

ha they will be INTELLIGENT questions. very. as soon as i can think of some.

PS ahundredtimes i am next in the queue at library for gate at the stairs.

that was you wasn't it?

ahundredtimes · 06/04/2010 17:10
