ooh the labour guy has responded to my email!!!

lincstash · 07/04/2010 21:17

If Labour gets in you can expect, less civi lrights, more taxes, more wasted spending, more police state and intrusion into your lives, more state nannyism telling you what to do when and how, you will education standards continue to plummet, and our NHS and State education become a laughing stock of the world (it nearly is anyway).

You will see more Labour grandees like the slimy noxious self serving corrupt liar Peter Mandelson continue to interfere in government despite having no mandate to, and to continue to line his pocket with public money and private bungs, you will see the tsunami of immigrants continue, lowering wages as the job markets floods further with cheap migrant labour, causing unemployment to skyrocket even higher, you will see more Eu rules telling us what to do, more EU interference in our country.

And of course, almost every election promise they make wont mean squat after the election, you KNOW for a FACT there lying as we speak. Remember the promised referendum on the Lisbon Treaty last election ?

Lies spin and incompetence, thats all you will get for voting Labour, just look at there record of the last 14 years. Time for new people, new ideas, new policies, a new direction.

lincstash · 07/04/2010 21:30

Oh and lets not forget 'Jobs for British People@, more labour spin and bollox, he really does think he can feed us any old BS and we will believe him (well some people are that gullible, they still vote Labour).

Today official figures revealed that there are nearly 300,000 fewer British workers in private sector jobs now than when Labour came to power.

Previously unpublished figures from the Office for National Statistics revealed the level of private sector UK-born workers has fallen from 19,020,000 in 1997 to 18,732,000.

In the same period, the number of employed born overseas has almost doubled to nearly three million.

As I said, so much for the "British jobs for British people" labour bullcrap. He knew it was bollox even as he spouted it, because he knows we have no control over it now, because of the open borders policy.

SuSylvester · 07/04/2010 22:28

hmm
right.
thanks

When are the manifestos going to be published? I've been googling but am only finding summaries. I am so undecided that I am actually going to bite the bullet and read the manifestos so I know exactly what's being promised.

lincstash · 07/04/2010 23:44

Who cares? The single most important thing is to get rid of labour, and the only vote that will be likely to do that is to vote tory. Its immaterial what the Tories say, because nothing is more important that getting rid of this useless, corrupt, incompetent, lying, thieving government that has such contempt for the electorate.

It makes me sick to think almost every single one of 1,6700,000 new jobs created since 1997 has gone to a foreigner. Thats an utter betrayal of the ordinary indigenous people living here.

Granny23 · 08/04/2010 01:01

Maybe that is because they can write big numbers properly

Where are you getting these figures from?

tiredemma · 08/04/2010 08:04

Su- Kingstanding (next district to Perry Barr is BNP 'stronghold')

Perry Barr is labour (and covers the great barr area)

vesela · 08/04/2010 09:20

EightiesChick, for Lib Dem policies if you go to the different policy sections on the website at www.libdems.org.uk (menu on left hand side) then as well as a link to a one-page summary there is often a link to the longer policy paper on that subject.

e.g. this page on health policy has a link to a one-page summary and below that a link to a longer, more detailed policy paper (box with bird on).

The Conservative website looks similar but their links to papers are in another box on the right of each section. Labour just has longish summaries as far as I can see.

EightiesChick · 08/04/2010 11:02

Thanks vesela. I'll have a look.

I'm irritated that Gordon Brown's MSN 'People's PMQs' session wasn't actually provided in full on their site. It's just a summary. I wanted to see exactly what questions were asked and what his replies were. Can't we get him on MN again? (and the others...)

lincstash As I said above, I care and I want to read the manifestos and make my mind up. The most important thing for me is to make an informed voting decision. But while you're here, if you want to promote the Tories then tell me what their policy on higher education is, as this is something I'm very interested in. All the ranting about immigrants doesn't do it for me I'm afraid.

livenletlive · 09/04/2010 12:54

Well I'm a mum of older children, teenagers in fact. My kids have been brought up to respect people and the environment, a progressive stance, which shows them how to care. I'll never vote Tory again im my life, I was an unthinking Tory then! It's about total selfishness, uncaring attitude no matter what they say. This includes their nasty pastimes such as hunting. I've never liked it but Cameron's first policy is to bring back hunting, he said it again last week. What sort of policy is that? I'm totally disgusted. He reckons the Hunting Act isn't working therefore we should scrap it. What about scrapping laws on vandalism, drink driving and drugs. The latter is one fear I have for my children.
Don't vote Tory they really are the Nasty Party. My friend has recently had triplets natural - (no IF)and has to go back to work. They need the money!! Her Mum is going to have to look after the babies because the local Surestart is closing and taking no more. She's rung several Surestarts in the area and the same message is happening, all being closed by Tory County Councils. At least Labour brought in this good policy and the Tories are going to shut them all down.
That's how caring the Tories are, they're not helping families in need and all they can see as good is ripping deer, hares and foxes apart!!
Don't throw your vote away. Don't vote Green because that's throwaway, vote for the party that will stop the Tories killing animals and poorer families by not helping them with childcare.

Yes, at least David Cameron knows how to behave properly. I want someone to represent our country, who can speak properly, who can behave properly and someone we can be proud of, dont you.?

I dont trust Nick , he seems to be all out for power, never mind his policies, which are crackpot.

I cannot stand Brown, his chin makes me gag, I dont know how sarah can stand him. He has left the country on his knees, he should do the honorouble thing and go.

Does that help.

eloise0 · 04/05/2010 23:01

There is going to be cuts whoever gets in, what we need to look at is who has the right attitude to get the country out of this mess, and then we will all be better off.

eloise0 · 04/05/2010 23:02

With all his lies no doubt.

eloise0 · 04/05/2010 23:03

I agree.

eloise0 · 04/05/2010 23:05

The Tories believe in education,
the labour lot believe in dumbing down
the lib dems just dont know

eloise0 · 04/05/2010 23:13

One sunny day in feb. there was a noise in the garden, we thought it was at the end of our garden, I wish now I had investigated.
Then one of our chickens flew into the window, and died , when we went out, we found carnage, SEVENTEEN chickens had been ripped limb from limb. our lovely charlie chick, whom we had raised from an egg, had lost a wing here, a tail there, and ws left lying without his head, and his girls had also been beheaded, and torn apart.
The blasted fox had had a lust for blood, in our domestic garden, he did not need to eat seventeen chickens, he left them ripped to bits, i cry every time I think of the poor chickens fate.

HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY DEFEND THESE MURDEROUS ANIMALS, they kill for fun, not food, and our pets have suffered the fate that many have because of the stupid law.

eloise0 · 04/05/2010 23:15

Its labour whose stopping acces to surestart if you are anything other than an underclass mum.

imogenart · 05/05/2010 21:28

For tabula rasa

In my lifetime two politicians balanced the budget in the countries I lived in (Clinton, Thatcher). This was followed by unprecedented prosperity in both countries. That is what I want for my little daughter... a prosperous future. (Even Gordon managed to keep the country prosperous BEFORE he went into debt, on our behalf.) Let's cut costs.

Does anyone remember grammar schools? Having scraped into one for just one year (before someone let the yobs in, who had no desire to learn) it really was a route for me to get to a good Uni for free... Education is something which has been mucked about with for far too long: half 'our' education budget is NOT spent on schools but on central policy initiatives and paperwork. In every country but this one, education is the way to go Up and Out (like Willie Wonka)... and science and technology are the way to better industry. Some Tory councils (Kent) are still running grammar schools and they are still good (Judd).

The cheapest and most efficiently run councils are often Tory. I lived in Wandsworth where our council tax was reasonable and services excellent. A bit of a shock moving elsewhere... So, if track record (a record of knowing how to get things done) means anything ....

We have to trust people who know their jobs to do them without paperwork and keeping track. (People checking... stifles the life out of a job and kills motivation.) We can fix this country, ourselves. We do have entrepreneurs setting up new businesses and we do need more painters and plumbers... let's go on and make a vocational education system with routes for academics and new stuff for business and old trades that keep our ship afloat. Let's get rid of paperwork to start new businesses - its very difficult to do right now. Let's cut Big government where it is just a flagship for a politician, to get our finances back on track. We can trust eachother (the country would have fallen apart by now if we could not.)

And if only we could control the housing prices... maybe we could have only one family adult working and create more social capital to our communities (ie have time to do good stuff for our neighbours and children).

Feeling Blue. Thanks for reading.
