I am a tabula rasa.
Does anyone want to persuade me?

SuSylvester · 06/04/2010 18:00

7% Conservative
23% Labour
70% Liberal Democrat

So either all MNs are lib dem or it is a secret ploy by the lib dems to make us all vote for them (although I'd be quite impressed if it was and may well just consider voting for them anyway...)

ahundredtimes · 06/04/2010 18:07

I liked it at the end when it said

Now take your results to your teacher!

I brought mine to Su

SuSylvester · 06/04/2010 18:07

i say
leave it on my desk ill mark it later

CountessDracula · 06/04/2010 18:09

now su
looking at your constituency I would say if you don't want the tories you have to vote libdem is your only hope. Given there will be a swing away from labour I would think they have a fair chance in fact.

i am voting libdem as ours is a marginal and the other option is that scumbag shagger non-dom Zak Goldsmith
I would vote libdem anyway really

SuSylvester · 06/04/2010 18:10

yes i know
bt i imagine it all fair and sqaure
and tory boy is stepping down

OP posts:
brimfull · 06/04/2010 18:12

I am hardened lib dem voter.

mumblechum · 06/04/2010 18:16

36%con
31%lab
33%libdem.

That's quite a handy test, but I'm clearly a bit of a wobbler.

wastwinsetandpearls · 06/04/2010 18:23

You must be quite hard core tory to get a majority mumble. I am scared.

ahundredtimes · 06/04/2010 18:26

Well - it's all go here - according to the Mayor Naze theory I have to vote conservative.

Have been leafleted. Cons see seat where I live as important one to win back from Lib Dems, we're awash with Ashcroft's ££.

shallishanti · 06/04/2010 18:27

haven't read the whole thread, but you could try this site-
voteforpolicies.org.uk/
they have a questionairre thingy, you can choose however many themes you like (economy, defence, education etc) and it gives you 5 or so different policies to choose from, without saying whose they are, then at the end it tells you which party you preferred most policies of....IYSWIM

BertieBotts · 06/04/2010 18:32

I didn't get a percentage, how do you get a percentage? It gave me a little rundown (I picked mostly LibDem) but at the bottom just said "You are: "

Also the education page is broken, it shows the LibDem policy twice and doesn't show the Tory policy at all `

wastwinsetandpearls · 06/04/2010 18:34

0% Conservative
26% Labour
74% Liberal Democrat

I noticed no tory education policy as well.

ShinyAndNew · 06/04/2010 18:36

Mine was
10% Conservative
45% Labour
45% Lib Dem

So I am still stuck. But I really really am stuck. I know virtually nothing about any of the parties. I have never voted before but I ahve decided that perhaps I really ought to vote this time.

I have asked for help from my family. My mum told me if didn't vote Labour she would disown me , my Uncle that Labour brought in Sure Start and if the Conversatives get in they will probably get rid of it? and my Grandad started with his usual racist ranting.

help me please.

What are these manifestos and where do I find them? Up untill now I have actively avoided anythng remotely related to politics.

shallishanti · 06/04/2010 18:40

try the vote for policies site!

wastwinsetandpearls · 06/04/2010 18:42

Just google the parties and you will find the manifestos.

In my local county council elections the lib dems won by 300 votes. ( 1400 to 1700) We have been either tory or liberal since 1885 and tory for almost 60 years. But in 2005 the libs only lost by 4% (45-41) so I think a lib vote here is a wise one.

BertieBotts · 06/04/2010 18:42

It's taking forever to load, shallishanti. In fact it has timed out on me twice now, I will try it later.

ahundredtimes · 06/04/2010 18:43

oh fgs. No brackets.

It's a bit of a daft system, really, my constituency is Henley which has always been conservative (we had Boris until q recently) but even our labour candidate would bring back foxhunting

wastwinsetandpearls · 06/04/2010 18:44

I have always founf theyworkforyou.com to be useful

ShinyAndNew · 06/04/2010 18:46

Thank you Ahundredtimes. That's some bedtime reading.

I think I will just compare the topics that I am most bothered about.
