Suspicious death, suspected murder. Think there is a press conference soon.

Confirmed - it's a murder investigation.

I saw lots of LGBT activists celebrating her death this morning on Bluesky.

Probably all proud members of Queers for Palestine- these people are both vile and supremely stupid

REP22 · 10/07/2026 17:17

Awful. My mum is from the same place and I know the lane there well. Just awful. I didn't like her politics, but she was rarely dull. She was firm in her antipathy towards Russell Brand after they were on HIGNFY together when he was the darling of media, and she robustly and magnificently stood up to Mick Philpott (who went on to burn six of his kids to death) in a documentary series she made.

That Heather person wants some action taken on the hateful post they put out.

I'm genuinely sorry at these developments.

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 10/07/2026 17:17

We don't know yet if it was political or not. If there is nothing to rule out a political motive at this stage, then I think it's reasonable for Farage and other Reform figures to get a temporary increase in protection.

But we don't know yet how much insight the police may or may not have into the killer's motivations.

Yes, I often wonder if they went there how long they'd last.

PrincessScarlett · 10/07/2026 17:12

Surely if reform are demanding Nigel has more security then they are implying this was political?

They don’t know that’s the point.

Shareadog · 10/07/2026 17:18

Her politics were so heinous, likely steeped in religion I fully understand why people want to point it out.

And now you’ve pointed it out and adequately virtue signalled your superiority, you can go and get yourself some dinner.

WrongKindOfFeminist · 10/07/2026 17:18

SerafinasGoose · 10/07/2026 17:00

People really need to desist from speculation. Nobody has been charged yet, but this can prejudice any potential trial. And I for one want this perpetrator brought to justice.

The point hitting home with me is that whatever the circumstances, a woman has suffered a violent and traumatic death and the chief suspect is a male. Another woman dead, likely at the hands of a man. And this means another tragic statistic of the nature read out in the House of Commons every spring.

I suspect that in most other circumstances MN would be horrified.

100%

Well what did it say? I reported a post that was swearing aggressively at someone. Could have been yours.

This really isn’t tne thread for you to use as a platform to attack people, pick another one.

This comment is in very poor taste. The woman has been murdered. Maybe you didn't like her. Neither did I. But have some basic respect.

I have reported your post.

Why?! Pointing out that if you live your life telling others how awful they are and how you want to get rid of them then you’re more likely to get targeted isn’t offensive. She was a horrible woman. She shouldn’t have been murdered. Those two things can co exist

Asunciondelaflata · 10/07/2026 17:20

Quite a few deletions, unsurprisingly.

Gosh. Your reply is both unnecessarily rude, and also, not very logical.

and yet lots of people agreed with me.

I didn’t read it but mine was removed as I outed a troll which is obviously not allowed.
Not sure if you did similar.

I reported it because you were presenting unsubstantiated speculation as fact.

Misinformation. Or perhaps Disinformation. Only you know that.

Eta Sorry. Wrong poster! That was a different one that I reported.

But I did report yours as well because it was in such poor taste. No need to be so disrespectful towards an elderly woman who has just been murdered.

PyongyangKipperbang · 10/07/2026 17:21

I was gob smacked when I saw it. Our political and religious beliefs couldnt be further apart but I actually quite liked her! She was gobby and opinionated and could hold her own against men who tried to shush her.

What an awful thing to happen, we can only hope that her death was fast and she didnt suffer much.

TemperanceWest · 10/07/2026 17:21

If it was your "FAFO" post, it was disgusting and very offensive.

GeneBelcher · 10/07/2026 17:21

I wish people wouldn't caveat with "I didn't like her politics, but"- it shows a certain cowardice, a need to demonstrate one's "goodness"- I don't give a shit about your politics- you are not interesting, a woman has been murdered and you're concerned about how you come across? So disrespectful.

It is a thread for you to attack a dead woman though it seems.

I really liked her on big brother and never thought I’d like anything about her.

And the other one.

ilovebrie8 · 10/07/2026 17:24

I’m really shocked at this news.
Just so awful that she has been murdered.
Hope they catch the culprit swiftly!

AInightingale · 10/07/2026 17:25

Have the police made their statement or was it just a press release? Or is there a press conference, said there was one due at 5pm.

I think it’s important that we condemn the murder of people we disagree with.

If this becomes clearly politically aggravated, I think it’s important that people who don’t agree with her politics have made it patently clear that they don’t believe murder is a proportionate response to disagreement.

Someone’s already started bandying about “murdered by a lefty,” maybe the “lefties” would like to make clear they don’t associate with that whatsoever.
