Do supporters not care that Zack Polanski is a liar?

A recent thread started, “I’m seriously impressed with this guy. Anyone else find him refreshingly honest and sensible?”

He has LIED about representing the Red Cross, LIED about working for the Dept of Justice (he was hired as a role play actor for staff training), LIED about being a proper hypnotherapist, and OBFUSCATED about where he is living (avoiding council tax). And that’s just what’s been discovered in a matter of weeks!

If this were your boss, say, would you still think he was great?

It’s always an “unintentional mistake” rather than “Ok, fair cop, I’ve been caught out.”

It’s often council tax that catches up with people in the public eye. Expect more to follow.

‘The Green Party has admitted that its leader Zack Polanski has, until recently, been living on a houseboat in London and may have failed to pay council tax.’

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy02wdzrg6jo

BBC article by the wonderfully named Damian Grammaticas, from three hours ago.

…the Green Party has admitted…

So why would he have originally lied to The Times then, about only occasionally living there?

The answer to that is, of course, that they’ve gone away and had a think about it and realised that it’s far better to ‘admit’ he hasn’t paid council tax than to stick with he only lived there occasionally and be liable to be accused of an actual criminal offence of electoral fraud….

Dodgy as fuck.

Also interesting how on each of the threads about him, someone immediately pops up to state ‘but what about Farage’. Well yeah, what about him? He’s a lying grifter and Polanski and the Greens hold themselves up to be better, much better, than both him and Reform so, by their own logic, they should be and do better and they should be held to a higher account.

Polanski has been reported to the standards committee after admitting he failed to pay council tax for his houseboat.

Mr Polanski and his partner lived on a houseboat moored at a marina in east London, where they paid no council tax for at least three years.

He instead registered a bungalow in east London as his residence on the electoral roll, meaning he was eligible to vote in elections for that council area and in general elections.

The Lee Valley Authority, which owns the property, has said Mr Polanski and his partner never rented the bungalow. It means it was not his home and therefore he may have broken electoral law.

When challenged last week, he insisted the houseboat was not his home, meaning he was not required to pay council tax.

However, he came under increasing pressure as neighbours suggested he lived on the houseboat.

The council tax that would have been owed if the boat were Mr Polanski’s main residence has been estimated at £4,000 for a three-year period.

This is a mystery to me too. I get that Starmer has made mistakes but I don't think he's been deliberately dishonest, and yet people are up in arms about every little thing, yet there doesn't seem to be any limit on what Green and Reform people can get up to and remain popular.

InstantlyBella · 12/05/2026 14:15

Heh, you can really tell that the right wing establishment behind the scenes are quivering in their boots at the prospect of the Green Party being a political force in the future. I for one am absolutely in love with Zack Polanski and know that there isn't a thing you can dredge up about him that will make me change my mind on how amazing he will be for the country.

So just keep trying to dig up receipts to say that he forgot to pay full price for his chocolate hobnobs one day 30 years ago because the desperation is all we need to know that he is winning 🖐

SOME people are keen on their policies.

Which policies, precisely? They appear to have abandoned their original ones - you know saving the planet etc.

That sounds more like obsession than support if you say there isn't a thing you can dredge up about him that will make me change my mind on how amazing he will be for the country.

He is never going to run the country, thank God.

He's a liar and a charlatan and has let antisemitism run riot in his party to the extent that it's now becoming known more for that than environmental issues.

You know Zack is Jewish himself right? Why would antisemitism run riot in a party spearheaded by a Jewish man? Is it because they have a robust stance against genocide in Gaza?

No Twighead, we aren't falling for the smears and the gaslighting. Labour are finished. The Conservatives were finished 2 years ago. The Liberal Democrats never even got started in the first place. It will be the Greens that will stand up to fascism in 2029 and it will be Zack that ultimately wins.

I suggest you get on board and enjoy the ride. Good vibes only 💚

God no, I didn't know that!

It's not as if every Zack fan mentions it with monotonous regularity ... oh wait

It may blow your mind but a political leader can be Jewish and not prepared to tackle antisemitism in their party. Zack just proved it.

noblegiraffe · 12/05/2026 14:46

Why would antisemitism run riot in a party spearheaded by a Jewish man?

Possibly because when a terrorist stabbed two Jews his response was to express concern for the terrorist.

Manyleaves · 12/05/2026 14:49

Saying Polanski can't be antisemetic because he's Jewish is a bit like saying Thatcher couldn't have been a misogynist.

Edited for typo

So would you agree that the Conservatives can’t possibly be racist or sexist now because they have a black woman in charge?
Or just maybe the background of the party leader is at best irrelevant and at worst a useful cloak to allow a party to freely express prejudice against whatever group their leader is seen to represent.

It wasn't concern for the terrorist at all, he was alarmed that the police were acting beyond reproach when attempting to apprehend the alleged suspect. I haven't seen the video in question because I abhor police brutality but the people I speak to said it was a disturbing watch. I applaud his bravery for speaking up in an age where the public seem to think that commiting a crime means you have no human rights anymore.

Perhaps the police should have asked the terrorist nicely to hand over the knife?

KatiePricesKnickers · 12/05/2026 14:58

The Green anti-Semite party are never getting into power.
They are a shower of shite that are more concerned about Gaza (a conflict that as well as being just, has fuck all to do with the UK) than green policies.
They are a mad fringe party like Restore, Reclaim, Your Party etc.
They are not even third rate.

@InstantlyBella yes you’re right. It would have been more democratic and ethical to have allowed the terrorist to continue stabbing people. These restrictions on crime really show up Britain as the fascist state that it is.

BettyCrockersLocker · 12/05/2026 15:00

As I said on a thread the other day, if we all decided not to vote for a party because some in it was arrested, lied, did something morally wrong, said something misleading, we'd have no one to vote for.

Crikeyalmighty · 12/05/2026 15:03

He was also allegedly deselected by the Lib Dem’s I have read and been told for being handsy with young male interns

That’ll certainly come in handy when he’s done for the crime of electoral fraud then…

Dollymylove · 12/05/2026 15:10

They dont care. They are as batshit as he is

mumofoneAloneandwell · 12/05/2026 15:12

I dont like him personally

But the labour party aren't left enough for me, so he will do

He has outright said he isnt ready to be PM - so what are you doing then?? 🙄🙄

Bring back Caroline Lucas!

His heritage may be Jewish but it's interesting to note that the organiser of yesterday's demonstration against antisemitism in Britain didn't see fit to invite Zac to speak. His family, apart from his mother, has disowned him.
Since Zac became leader of the Greens antisemitism is rife among the party, with some of Corbyn's old Labour friends joining in.
If you seriously think that the Greens will beat Reform in a straight fight to become an elected government - I've got news for you. Not a cat's chance in hell. And I'm not a Reform voter. In fact I'd bet on Farage becoming kingmaker in a future hung parliament.
I suggest YOU sit back and enjoy the rocky ride that's to come. The future isn't Green.

It’s not a small error or mistake, though, is it? Not paying your council tax for three years!? And then lying about it.
It’s not very Fair is it, for the Fairer, Greener party leader….

Didn't you hear? It's a media smear. All of it. Zack is perfect and everything the media says about him are lies, horrible lies.

I've seen the video. He still held the knife while the police were attempting to arrest him. The taser didn't appear to do much to stop him. Frankly if someone was trying to knife me I'd give him a kicking too, rather than be stabbed by him.
Zac was wrong to diss the police the way he did. No sympathy at all for the three men who were stabbed that day. And you call him brave!
