Gorton and Denton, what have you done?

You have elected as an MP to stand in the UK&NI parliament a person who said in a panel interview with Annabel Tiffin from BBC Northwest Tonight that the Manchester Arena bombing was caused by people sewing division by questioning immigration.

That statement is so outrageous I don't even know where to start.

Do you even know that you owe your ability to fly away on holiday to a great British Inventor?

There is a lot to be proud of in our history. At the moment it is only fashionable to put on a hair shirt and wallow in our past sins while scrutinising them minutely through a lens of 21st century international morality.

I thought the Wright brothers were American?

I'm going to vote conservative for the first time ever. I really like Kemi Badenoch. Smart, competent, takes her time to develop policy. She is a 'gets shit done' person. The alliance between Greens and the wider Muslim community won't last as they disagree on all other things outside of Gaza.

Can you explain what shit she got done when she was actually in government? Because I’ve no idea how you’ve come to this conclusion.

Onmytod24 · 01/03/2026 11:19

Reform or Green won’t get in the next election. They’ve done their job - we voted for them because we were angry. Labour will learn, reboot and drop its reform light policiesand we’ll see Angela Rayner as Prime Minister

Reset no. 48, then.

Would you like to see Rayner installed as PM before or after her outstanding tax ‘issue’ has been resolved with HMRC?

She didn't act that way during last PMQs.

Kemi is way more impressive than Starmer at PMQ’s - she’s had him on the ropes repeatedly. He is not what you would call a natural orator or debater….

Meanwhile, when he is not shaking or pursing his lips in a barely unconstrained fury, he looks like he wants to leap over the despatch box and get physical. That adenoidal voice rises a couple of octaves - at which point one invariably hits mute on the volume.

Ah, so your opinion is based on superficials and you prefer a smirk to actual passion and can’t see past a particular tone of voice?
I’ll grant you Badenoch always looks well turned out and has a pleasant speaking voice. She’s really poor at PMQs though. And often a bit childish.

Come now Cardi, don’t be like that - you know full well Starmer is not a natural. The superficiality to which you refer sits on top of profound incompetence, and a lack of political judgement and nous.

Oh, and btw, you also know that many voters are drawn to a bed-side manner.

Alas, your PM is lacking in almost every area.

That's just fiction.

taxguru · 01/03/2026 11:53

Labour, Tories and the Libdems NEED to get their head out of their arses and become parties that people can vote for again. If they don't, the future DOES lay with Reform and Greens etc. Time and time again, for years, the voters have been giving a clear verdict that they don't want/like the status quo of how the three major parties had become. The ONLY people at fault are those in those three major parties who have become detached from the reality of people living in the UK and are obsessed with their "echo chambers" and obsessed with London. Time and time again, other politicians have won elections by understanding "normal" people, especially out in the regions, and promising to give them what they want. Look at how Boris won all those "red wall" seats??

You don't live in the UK then? Otherwise he is your PM as well

People elected Johnson because he was funny and had a way with words......

He’s my PM in name only.

Unfortunately, I am not currently in a position to cancel or ‘deplatform’ him.
That said, he’s evidently quite capable of doing that himself, so I doubt I shall have long to wait.

Ps. What do you think of my earlier post re Polanski’s rapist denier colleague?

I find this totally shocking.

What do you find shocking? It’s a fact that many European countries have some dark periods in their history. ‘Great Britain’
wasn’t the only coloniser. Look at the historical colonial past of the French , Portuguese and Belgians.

I don’t need him to be a ‘natural’ at behaving like a child or a university debating society. I know some voters do prefer that, but it doesn’t change that it’s a very superficial view, does it?
I disagree with your assessment of his performance.

He’s utterly awful at PMQ’s, but it’s merely window dressing for his repeated policy errors and u-turns, and his lack of judgement (Mandy, anyone?), and awol political nous. An inept PM, and one soon to be out on his arse.

I am looking forward to May (and not just the weather).

No it's not. It's saying that people of a similar political persuasion will be along to all say the opposite of that poster. That isn't troll hunting. It's not like the 'bot' accusation, which certainly is.
