I wonder what our late Queen would make of this if she was still here.

I also wonder did she foresee this mess happening when she appointed Liz Truss as PM two days before she died

We would never know until The Crown got to that. Maybe back again, dear oh dear

notwavingbutdrowning1 · 20/10/2022 19:40

It's utterly disgusting that the idea of serial liar Johnson returning to office is even entertained. Anyone in favour needs to take a long hard look at themselves. What values are you even passing on to your kids?

vera99 · 20/10/2022 19:33

Great idea.

VOTE LABOUR 👏

Couldn't not agree more! 👍

dirndldancer · 20/10/2022 19:41

Boris coming back would be insane, he's self serving, incompetent and dishonest. It would at least of the tories though which wouldn't be so bad. This party has done so much damage since they came to power 12 years ago with Brexit being the pinnacle of their idiocy which has led to this absolute mess we are in. They are a disgrace.

EwwSprouts · 20/10/2022 19:42

Just no. He isn't fit for purpose.

dirndldancer · 20/10/2022 19:42

'At least be the end of the tories' that should have said

lljkk · 20/10/2022 19:44

I think Gove (only Gove) could beat Boris if it goes to a members vote. Members already rejected Rishi.

nightvision · 20/10/2022 19:45

This government belongs to Boris. Johnson is the only legitimate and rightful Leader. No back-stabbers can dream of ever wearing the crown. They'll fall at their own swords. Boris is the only one that can defeat Labour in the next General Election.

Bring Back Boris!

Boris is the only one who can save Tories?

As they say Crobynists are out of touch with reality...

Corbynists ...

Just thinking about UK politics since 2016 is akin to thinking about a banana republic

VivX · 20/10/2022 19:46

I'm with everyone else who says he can fuck off to the far side of fuck. And then some.

It's astonishing that this is even being discussed as a possibility.

This is satire, right?

TiredyMcTired · 20/10/2022 19:48

It would be completely ridiculous for Boris to make a comeback. I am astounded that anyone would support this idea. This country would be even more of a laughing stock than we are now. There should be a general election.

Nope. Teachers have to take their leave during holiday time. Should MPs not take theirs during their generous recesses?

I’m not saying he can take his holidays as and when he pleases.

I have no idea how politician’s holiday works.

If he is taking time off that he shouldn’t be taking then surely it would be unauthorised absence, all I’m saying is that he is maybe permitted to be on holiday and isn’t doing anything wrong

If it is the former, then that is different.

I was just pointing out that people are entitled to annual leave. I have no idea what way Boris’ holiday entitlement works.

Whatever he wants whenever he wants the rules are for the little people.

This man - an absolute fucking bad joke.

StaunchMomma · 20/10/2022 19:51

FUCK. THAT!!!

wheresmymojo · 20/10/2022 19:52

noblegiraffe · 20/10/2022 16:38

As I commented elsewhere, he didn't do much wrong.

Took bribes, appointed a Russian agent to the House of Lords against security advice, tried to amend parliamentary rules to get his corrupt mate Owen Paterson off the hook, whipping his MPs to vote for it then u-turned, appointed a known sex pest to deputy chief whip, gave Gavin Williamson a knighthood presumably as a bribe because Gav has dirt on him from his time as whip, did literally fuck all as prime minister over the summer despite impending financial crisis, is on holiday again now when he should be at work and is currently under investigation for deliberately misleading parliament.

But apart from that?

I feel like you've missed some things here...

For starters there was the blonde woman who got some all expenses paid trip and a business kickstart loan while they were having an affair - lying about the affair while PM (she has now admitted it though it was bloody obvious).

LaQuern · 20/10/2022 19:53

I'd rather shit on my hands and clap than see that blonde blancmange back in number 10

Anniefrenchfry · 20/10/2022 19:53

Look at two countries that didn't lockdown? Brazil and Russia, quite extraordinary death rates and damage to their economies

well I don’t know about Brazil but are you having a laugh over Russia. Do you have no idea how Russia handled it, yes they had lock down, from Moscow and across the board, forced stay at home orders, they also forced employers to ensure all staff were vaccinated or shutting down their companies and freezing their bank accounts. People were fired if they couldn’t get vaccinated. They carried out checks on the metro, carried our raids on peoples homes if they thought they had it, enforced and I mean forcibly , quarantine on its citizens, Trust me, no one should be flying the flag for Russia. It was brutal

It baffles me the amount of people who seem to care about how “we” look.

“we would be a laughing stock” etc. really?

@Hbh17 I agree with your post. People on here were bending over backwards trying to find loopholes to a support bubble and saying they had a drink with a work mate but it was fine because they were in a work bubble together. Hypocrites!

How we 'look' is actually very important.

To the financial markets and to overseas investors just to name two.

Bollindger · 20/10/2022 19:57

How does Boris and Trump sound?
Your nightmare coming to reality soon ......

noblegiraffe · 20/10/2022 20:02

I have no idea how politician’s holiday works.

Nadine Dorries had the whip suspended when she appeared on I'm a Celeb when she should have been sitting in parliament.

So there used to be an expectation that you turn up and do the job you are paid to do.

Now there is no party discipline and people are skiving off left right and centre.

Indeed. Could we not fuck with the economy any more for the minute? Many people are struggling and could really be doing with some stability!

chaosmaker · 20/10/2022 20:02

Let's hope the king dissolves parliament. That would be A reason for the monarchy to exist at all. He could be seen to stand up for his 'subjects'. This is something that he could actually do.

Although labour won't rejoin the single market which is a gigantic mistake. I don't know who should be in charge but the tories have well and truly pissed on their chips. I wouldn't be surprised if they do try and get the johnson back in... they are obsessed with power and their own good fortunes and not at all about the country or the those who are stuck within it and their 'policies'.
