A glimmer of hope, 3 boys on the bus today (our car failed it's MOT, bastard thing) one started joking about benefits cap and another got very annoyed and said a boy in their year's mum is living on £5 a day... poor woman. But still - mini frothers!

Then one of them thought Christmas Day was the day we only had on leap years.

I knew a guy in Germany who "went freelance" so that he could avoid paying maintenance - he left his wife and 3 kids for a neighbour's daughter and was then self-employed and not making any profit.

Didn't stop him buying huge house and driving massive car, but she could not prove it. Bastard.

Well done! Gave up four weeks ago but DP still has the odd one so caved in and had a half last night, I blame the alcohol. I should never be allowed to be treated on the NHS with all that behaviour.

I live in South Wales and work in the Valleys. Whole area decimated by the politics of Thatcher,we are still living with the effects 30 years later.
Poverty, low income jobs, high unemployment and high incidence of substance misuse.
Driving through a particularly impoverished area a few weeks ago,I was listening to Thatchers biographer being interviewed. He said that history would look at her in a kinder light even though she was a controversial figure.

I was so angry, there I was driving through her fucking. History! That is still a day to day reality for thousands of people. Shooting would be too good for her!!
And now Cameron et al,not content on destroying the feckless poor, want to destroy the sick and disabled too.
Why we don't have a Revolution I'll never know.

I've only seen clips but in each one Meryl Streep looks like she's doing an impression of Thatcher. There's one where she's at the dispatch box and she does this weird sort of pigeon-bounce instead of walking normally.

I'm not going to pay to watch it. Not when just the process of going to the cinema involves complicated negotiations about childcare with dh and the finding of friends to go with.

Dh was projecting the MT film. He said the audiences were weird. Sat right through the credits & left in silence

Hi Madondogs. Gald you've found the frothers! I am having a shit week this week - two seizures so far since sunday morning. I'm not disabled though, right.... Gotta or I'll be . Managed to spill an entire cup of water all over my cooker yesterday when I had a seizure, and I dropped the laptop on my toe today when I had one. Toe bloody ouchy, but lappy fine, thank god! First thing the two older dc asked, at separate times, when told I'd dropped the lappy on my toe, was after the laptop, NOT my toe. . I know DS1 was joking, but DD wasn't. .

Visited new hospital last week named after Aneurin Bevan. It's built on the site of the old steel works in Ebbw Vale, and they have lots of memorabilia on show. Blaenau Gwent is so incredibly impoverished,I dread to think what it will be like for some families when the benefit cuts are made .it will be like going back to the 1930s .
