Fed up of the cuts? Fed up of the mislead bigotry? This is your sanctuary. Unwind. Vent. Pop over to the frothers thread if you feel like getting organised and doing some proactive stuff or just chill out with a cup of builders tea in a polystyrene cup.

Welcome.

I did say I had only started two in the face of 400 basher threads. To be fair, I think they are just fed up with all the complaints. So kettle the Bashers, MNHQ

Peachy · 26/01/2012 09:28

Hully, when I sent my message from Maypole to MNHQ they said 'how rooood'

Funny how it works one way for some and not the others eh?

And yes Hunty, they have smelled your blood. There are loads I am sure of non-posting lurkers reading our posts and learning, they are the proper floating voters (who can't even commit to pressing 'send') but the ones who post there have clogged their ears with cotton wool and are shouting lalalalalalala I worked harder than you very loudly. Now, when they can't find a local Nanny under £10ph because wages WILL match living costs in an area, and the ones posting that they a re on MW find that the area has had to take an influx of 100 thousand- what? refugees?0 and they can;t get a GP appointment or school place- they will shout nobody warned meeeeeee... but we did.

But take it from the Queen of the syndrome, hanging yourself out to dry is NOT going to help you. IN fact there becomes - just IME- a point whre it gets to be almost a point of self flagellation and a symptom of extremely low self esteen and if that is the case for anyone they need to see a GP because that was the signs that preceeded me almost breaking down permanently- had my GP not had a mate with ASD kids and so understood, I;d have been placed in a MH centre I am certain. Nobody else should risk that.

Hullygully · 26/01/2012 09:28

yy Mary.

Maybe we need a Let Us Be Reasonable thread...

Peachy · 26/01/2012 09:30

Maybe I should start a thread saying @I am on meds, and I claim some benefits; you can come and bash me becuase I am chemically immune, look here I am, come get meeeeee' and fraw off the hounds.

Life is too short.

A spoof claimant thread might annoy a few- why should I leave this house, it's near Waitrose and I ike having two spare bedroom for my fine wine collection etc- but somehow not worth it. This lot have had a SOH bypass.

Agree Peachy.

I'm having a day off and hiding anything more controversial than "Will this dummy make my baby a pervert?"

Hullygully · 26/01/2012 09:39

Yep, don't post stuff that MATTERS to you, unless it's on a matey thread.

Hullygully · 26/01/2012 09:40

If we have days off...they get to post unchallenged. Maybe we should have a rota..

Hullygully · 26/01/2012 09:40

Actually, it might be good if they post unchallenged. Give em enough rope.

KatieMiddleton · 26/01/2012 09:41

Oh dear. I have heard a couple of people (including one on my sensible list Sad) making some real leaps using their creative reading skills. Things like "just because I agree about the cap doesn't mean you should start disembowelling threads". And I think 1. There is nothing on the joke thread about the cap. 2. If you are identifying with the group of anti-benefit extremists being mocked then you need to have a think about why that is.

On a more positive note, dh said something last night which made me think there is hope (he has been a bit "well there does need to be cuts and bankers do control the economy" of late). He said unprompted that the "just move" argument is about giving up. It's saying "I'm never going to get another job so I'm going to have to move to an area of deprivation with even less chance of a job and that creates a cycle of joblessness". He pointed out that people have a better chance of getting another job in an area where there are jobs and that no one who is made redundant plans to be out of work for long. He said more but i cant remember it all. I liked that he was thinking about the majority of out of work people who can and do want to work.

Quite often I've seen the "I'd put them all in the workhouse/have them doing community service type jobs... except the disabled. But everyone else is just lazy" comments and the "except the disabled" bit is used like a disclaimer to hold vile views about everyone else (I also reckon some of the views about which disabilities are rather dubious but I'm not about to poke them for more info). I had been afraid to ask dh what he thought in case I discovered I'd married one of those dreadful people and then had to run him through with the bread knife I think there's hope.

They will be challenged by others Hully. Either that or maybe we should start bitchploppong the stats and then hiding the threads?

Boys (well 2 / 4) off sick and I am rendered beyond caring; won't be on all day but will pop in and purt people down occasionally

Am expecting flack for my last post mind but tis the truth so they can Do One.

ShirleyForAllSeasons · 26/01/2012 09:43

Oh and at rope - look at that "lock em all up" loon from the other day! Shock

Hullygully · 26/01/2012 09:43

My ds (14) is battling on FB, bless. He came in the other day all outraged and showed me a Benefit Basher status and his put-down of it.

Chip block etc.

Peachy · 26/01/2012 09:45

Katie exactly.

And if any of them thinks 'this won't affect me' you wait until they try and get an appt at the hospital if there is a low income estate within the entire catchment area and an affluent county bordering their at all....

My friends here who think they all 'deserve it' (I say friends but YKWIM; anyone who ahs seen my facebook page would know this simply would not work for me LMAO) but have failed to cotton on that their services are sahred with Europe's largest council estate....

All I can say is that there are some very dim people in some very shaky ivory towers right now!

Peachy · 26/01/2012 09:47

Yay Hully for your ds!

My boys learning same stuff LOL; despite his AS ds1 is already his Base rep on school council (even though he is the youngest and it serves kids aged 11 - 18); he would make a fine politician and definitely NOT a blue one.

I don't think it is brainwashing; I was out doing Lib Dem stuff younger than he is for my Dad, yet changed direction (mind, dad followed me LOL!) just Training Wink

Peachy · 26/01/2012 09:48

Bitchplopping stats pointless, they ignore actual proper arguments

Isn't it depressing that personal experience is all that makes people think?

I always remember my dear mother's rabid support of the police, while the Sus Laws were going great guns, the miners were being pulverised, Blair Peach etc etc, and then one day she was stopped in a tiny country lane for being five mph over the speed limit...and the policeman was rude and brusque to her!

Totally changed her whole outlook.

Hullygully · 26/01/2012 09:52

Quite, Mary. I did point that out.

ShirleyForAllSeasons · 26/01/2012 09:56

Ugh and I just looked at a thread where smallwhitecat is telling blatant LIES about the reaction to the loon who wanted institutions. She said that there were loads of jokes after she had said it. I've gone back and looked and there is not a SINGLE joke - just lots of sharing of personal experiences, horror and shock.

I so want to call her on it.

Hullygully · 26/01/2012 09:57

you have to
