This is the 3rd thread in a series.

It is for people who are horrified, frustrated and downright sad at the erosion of human rights with respect to how this country is being run, just now and in the recent past

it is apolitical in nature, but of course due to many recent initiatives by the recent govt, there will be rants against our current "leaders"

please join in

I shall post the link to the old threads, our "Too Many Cuts #Frothers" blog that is attracting a lot of widespread attention and a little bit of what we are about in a moment

Yes glitterz - keep writing, there is still more debate to go.

carernotasaint · 12/12/2011 22:09

OMFG Look at the latest post on boycott workfare. Someone did 4 weeks unpaid work back in May and now just seven months later they want them to do it again this time for SIX MONTHS. Im with Huntycat on this. I would not do workfare again either.
I cant speak for Huntycat but i would rather enter the sex industry than do twww.boycottworkfare.org/hat which is what my original thread was about. Ive done sex chatline work in the past. Id rather go back to that or something else in the same industry than ever do workfare again. The sex chatline work was ten years ago and i got into that after they tried to get me to do work for your dole in a soup factory. You should have seen their faces when i signed off and told them what job i was going to.
Then another jobcentre clerk told me that loads of women had signed off to go into the sex industry.
I really think a body like the Joseph Rowntree foundation should do a study on this. On how many people enter the sex industry after being totally demoralized by workfare.

Sorry if my last post doesnt make much sense. I tried to do a link but i messed it up and it ended up in the middle of my post.

Glitterknickaz · 12/12/2011 22:22

I'll finish the blog post tomorrow morning. I'm too upset tonight (not just this issue, personal stuff).

KateFrothers · 12/12/2011 22:27

Oh ffs!

HoL just voted against guaranteeing disabled children's benefits at minimum of current level. In what world is that right when Vodaphone, Boots and others don't pay proper tax on all the money they earn in UK?!

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 12/12/2011 22:29

Have just commented on a couple of frother Blog posts

gallicgreetings · 12/12/2011 22:46

I tweeted a couple of MPs too.

Ssoooooooo wrong.

KateFrothers · 12/12/2011 23:10

I've just read an email with an attached blog post from someone who was going to contribute to the blog. She's not going to post now because her situation is precarious (sorry that's all so cryptic).

She is going to be bringing her disabled child home and I couldn't tell her that our government have just voted not to protect benefits for disabled children. I couldn't piss on her victory with such awful, depressing news.

I am literally weeping for her and her family and others like her. This is just so awful and so, so wrong.

TheMouseRanUpTheClock · 12/12/2011 23:13

We as a country should take care of our most vounerable, how very Sad to hear about the hol and disabled children's benefits.

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 12/12/2011 23:19

OP posts:
KateFrothers · 12/12/2011 23:27

I feel like some sort of Dicken's character weeping and saying "what will become of us!".

How utterly, utterly useless these tears are. I need to get angry. I need to get active.

TheMouseRanUpTheClock · 12/12/2011 23:31

Kate, remember the child called "ignorance"!

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 12/12/2011 23:32

aww, c'mere kate Brew

put your middleton moniker back on, would that help to make a you feel a bit better ?

I know what you mean re. useless tears

what is the point if no-one is listening ? But I do think people are listening....more than they were anyway. Small steps, and let's hope it's not too late for many people...

OP posts:
KateFrothers · 12/12/2011 23:37

Yes I might put Middleton back on. I should write a fecking play. I will channel my inner David Hare and her what was about 4 when she wrote for The Royal Court and write something completely shit.

CardyMow · 12/12/2011 23:51

I am now. This news about the 50% cut for disabled dc has just, I don't know...Made me realise that these people just don't have a better side to appeal to.

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 12/12/2011 23:53

off to bed now

is all this stuff the last thing you think of before sleep and the first thing you think of upon waking ?

it is for me

kate/hunty...don't give up, get some rest x
