I'm not quite a frothing berserker but I am getting rather cross with our government messing with the good stuff.

Just off the top of my head:

  • Student fees
  • Public sector workers terms and conditions (otherwise known as moving the goal posts after the match has started)
  • Women (Report on Fawcett legal challenge result here)
  • Sure Start
  • NHS
  • Erosion of employment rights
  • Removal of EMA
  • Removal of universal child benefit
  • Unfair changes to DLA
  • Unfair changes to ESA assessment

I am getting more and more fed up that these decisions are being made to take away some of the things we should be most proud of and that took years to be achieved.

This thread is a safe haven for some ranting as I know some of us are feeling sick and tired of it all.

What are we going to plan?
Do we all have a part to play?
I am a bit handy with my fists if that helps

KateMiddIeton · 29/11/2011 16:18

Tomorrow I am taking coffee and cake to those picketing at my university.

signing in and frothing too.

KnottyLocks · 29/11/2011 16:19

How about a Hammer Time Flashmob in Downing Street?

HugosGoatee · 29/11/2011 16:20

ChristmasLights - sounds like Naomi Klein's Shock Doctrine - governments love when natural disasters, terrorist incidents and wars happen because they can push through extreme laws and contracts that would normally cause mass frothing, under the guise of protecting us.

I read the book and it terrified me, I think Tories read it and get ideas.

crazynanna · 29/11/2011 16:21

Fists is action...

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 29/11/2011 16:24

I'm at work on Thursday but I shall froth at people there. Count me in

MotherPanda · 29/11/2011 16:25

But i'm bored and tired and fed up, will anyone listen to me? Does the government really care what i think?

What's the point?

Give me spirit, MNers

Love the idea of tea and cake for those striking.

KateMiddIeton · 29/11/2011 16:26

That's why we have a couple of days down time MotherPanda nothing to do with me having the flu...

WillbeanChariot · 29/11/2011 16:27

I am exhausted from being angry all the time. The propaganda being put out by the government against the striking workers is disgraceful. And Workfare... words fail me.

stinkyfluffycat · 29/11/2011 16:27

Ooh, a chance to froth . I don't have any horse shit to drop on Downing St but would happily send a cat turd.
DP losing a day's pay tomorrow as he's striking which is crap right before Christmas but worth it just to feel we're doing something.

KateMiddIeton · 29/11/2011 16:30

I am alternately frothing at high voltage and then deflating in a hopeless, helpless mess

It is exhausting

Is it the hopelessness that wears you down ?

MotherPanda · 29/11/2011 16:32

I can do poo,

DD did a big smelly yellow one earlier. Will that do?

KateMiddIeton · 29/11/2011 16:33

Are you not cheered that all these lovely people have come along? I thought it'd just be you, me and SAF (where is she?)!

We will do something. Not sure what yet but Something Must Be Done.

If the Tories carry on like this the SNP will win the independence referendum. The landslide win by SNP in Scottish elections was largely anti Tory and because of lack of any credible opposition.
The only 'big' party I would vote for come another general election would be Green as everyone else is so short- termist. It drives me crazy!! They will destroy the Nhs in England given the chance, doctors don't want it and its a huge waste of money

Public sector workers are being hammered - easy money now but the effect in 10 or 20 years on education and nursing to name just two things doesn't bear thinking about!

Give me something to sign or I'll vent my spleen Angry

MrsChristmasDB · 29/11/2011 16:35

I am frothing with you all.

Can I add Connexions to the list of Things To Froth Over?

Two wonderful connexions intensive PAs we had, to work exclusively with 16-19year olds who are in and leaving care ie some of the most educationally, socially, emotionally disadvantaged teenagers that exist and they were summarily chopped a year ago. We have been expected to do the work they did ourselves Hmm

Our performance indicators include 19yos in ETE. Surprisingly, those numbers have dropped Hmm

KateMiddIeton · 29/11/2011 16:35

Thinkingof4 I've posted links up the thread to an NHS petition and a Sure Start campaign. Also check out the one labelled feminist (it isn't really radical).

If you don't have OP posts highlighted you can change it in settings and voila, easy to find.

OP posts:
KateMiddIeton · 29/11/2011 16:37

Yes, let's add Connexions to the list. Good point Eric.

See when there's so much that you forget you know things are very bad indeed.

AnyFucker · 29/11/2011 16:38
