Prayer thread for summer 2009 - My grace is sufficient

DutchOma · 18/06/2009 13:24

My grace is sufficient for you 2Cor 12:9
and
When I am weak then I am strong 2Cor 12:10

Reading through last month's prayer request I came across the first text quoted by M44 and it brought the second one to mind.
When I am weak.....when I cry out to the Lord to my sisters to please pray for me, when life is hard....then I am strong.
I counted more than 20 names in last month's prayerlist, more than 30 when I counted the names Dippy had mentioned at the beginning of her update, so I will only mention a few names here.

We pray for Anna and Findlay, where real miracles of the Lord are needed.
For M44's mother-in-law in hospital
For Weegiemum that the Lord may uphold her as only He can. For Marc and Suzanne on their wedding day.
For Boilerwoman that she may take her strength from the Lord.
For Jentlydoesit and her DP that God may bring good into a difficult situation. Giving thanks for the new job.
For Swaliswan and dd2.
For Onlyjoking in this season of remembrances and for the children who are suffering more now than a year ago.
For Clockface with exciting changes to come.

And at this stage, sisters, I call you together to prayer for one another.
You know who you are - beloved of the Lord.

weegiemum · 12/07/2009 16:45

Not brilliant, but nothing like as bad as yesterday, thankyou DO. I was actually thinking of asking for prayer for it at church this evening (my turn to go!) though I have never asked for prayer at church for physical healing before - though it is available every week if you want it.

Eek! I am learning to trust God more for things like this!

DutchOma · 12/07/2009 16:57

Oh please do go and ask for prayer. God loves you so much and He will love being asked.

Cansomeonehelpmeplease What a horrid situation for you to be in. I have a friend who is in a smiliar situation, I will ask her for some words for wisdome / advice / support for you my lovely Remember, "we love because He first loved us"/

How is DD1 today SS? Praying for healing and for DD2'a progress

I have a major urgent prayer request tonight ....

My SIL and her DH have just been for their 20 week scan. The baby has something very seriously wrong with it's heart They already have a lovely little 15 month old DD. SIL and DH are currently in hospital having lots of scans / tests etc to try and determine exactly what is wrong and what the next step is. It is looking pretty bleak at the moment It just so awful. I cannot even begin to imagine what they are going through. MIL is looking after their DD while they are in hospital. Wish there was more I could do. I'll update when I have more news; but prayers for a miracle would be so good right now

weegiemum · 12/07/2009 21:39

Oh CD Praying for your SIL and family - that must be one of the worst things you could ever have to deal with!

DO - I ended up getting prayed for tonight but not my ankle - I was too busy dealing with all the emotions that were stirred up by a sermon on our identity in Christ - marvellous!

I am away for a week from now unti lnext Monday night, so don't worry if things are quiet from me as we have no internet connection in the Wild (North) West!!

Have a good week if you can and I am praying for you all!

DutchOma · 12/07/2009 22:14

I'll be away for the week as well, but will have internet access from time to time. Praying for you all, especially for Dippy's SIL and dh and baby.
I had a funny picture while praying for them:- I first saw a leaf ravaged by caterpillars and when I looked again it had changed to the pattern of a honeycomb. Make of that what you will, but it was a good picture.
Weegiemum, so good to hear you could confirm your identity in Christ. One last thought:- if you have to be stuck to the sofa for the week I'm sure God has many things to say to you.

Popping by briefly. DH's sister was delivered of a perfect baby boy this evening. 22 weeks gestation. Prayers for them would be so appreciated at this time. Thank you.

Afternoon all!

positiveattitudeonly · 14/07/2009 17:37

CD I do pray that all your family are feeling supported by prayers and a real sense of God's love at such a time.

GOd is doing amazing things in Durban with the Soul Survivor team over there. Look on the soul survivor web site, or their facebook page for more info. So excited that DD2 is part of this and will be having her faith strengthened.

Swaliswan · 14/07/2009 20:46

Just popping by to say that I am praying CD.

frAKKINPannikin · 14/07/2009 22:08

CD - praying for your whole family.

PAO - huge praise for what's happening with Soul Survivor in Durban and praying that your daughter really grows in in faith from her amazing experience.

LTSF - praying for your move!

Weegiemum - prayers for your health: physical, emotional and spiritual. May the Lord lift you up and hold you close.

CF - praying for the teeth and that you feel the healing power of Christ banishing that pain!

cansomeonehelp - prayers for your relationship with your DD. May God give you the grace you need and the answers that you seek. I also pray that you can find someone to talk to if you want to who will listen - if you need to then we are here and we won't judge you because that's not our place. Praying that you can give this over to God and that He will fill you with His love and bless you and your family through it.

Swaliswan - prayers for the whole family, healthwise and emotionswise. May the Lord strengthen you all.

Prayers for anyone that I've missed and anyone who feels that they need them but don't want to ask.

Status update: no real change in Mamie's condition. I am going down to join the family tomorrow so please do keep them in your prayers and also pray that I am given sensitivity and wisdom to support them at this difficult time.

Clockface · 15/07/2009 09:33

Hello all!

I've just been reading this thread and praying for all represented here.

Just to update you - the teeth / gums / bones have been much better for the last few days - no paracetomol yesyerday or so far today! I hope that this is the end of the real brain-shattering pain. I'm sleeping better too. Thank you God!

And thank you for your support!

Now - I need to get packing! We now have the keys to our flat in the theological college, so we can pop over and take boxes of stuff as and when - we're going to make a trip on Sunday. Feels like we are really moving now...

positiveattitudeonly · 15/07/2009 09:43

Clockface - I am so pleased about the tooth/gum ache. Will be praying that your move goes smoothly and you soon feel really "at home" and settled.

CD. Continue to pray for your family and the situation there.

Love to everyone today. Praying for lots of sunshine and fun through the hols!

ZipadiSoozi · 15/07/2009 11:27

Sorry been awol!

CD - Sorry missed your birthday, many happy returns for last sunday anyway! sounds like you had a good day. And special prayers for your new nephew and family

ZipadiSoozi · 15/07/2009 11:32

Prayers please for our farce of a marriage, I am so sad because it is our silver wedding anniversary 18 Aug and I don't feel a thing, just saddness, the only good thing is the dc, whom I hope we have not effected their precious most beautiful little lives. My babies!

Must turn this 'Barbara Dickson' CD off not doing me any good!

I just want to feel happy and everything back to 10 years ago, gosh didn't realise thats when the marriage first started crumbling

Soozi - adding my prayers to everyone here.

CF - glad pain is easing and praying you are settled soon

mjim - praying for your lo, that the night terrors don't repeat and his sleeping mind is at peace.

Please pray for us, we need that burning bush guidance again! Our under valuation for the survery (of the purchasing house) has affected the amount the mortgage company will lend us. Not a huge amount in the grand scheme, but it will impact on the amount of capital we are setting to one side to do some improvements we will need in the future. The sellers will not drop the price, even to meet us half way, so we have no idea whether this is move is intended and we step out in faith, or if this is one of those road blocks He erects to turn us in another direction (sigh).

So insignificant compared to other things on this thread, but hope you are all well x

MarieBernadetteS · 15/07/2009 16:29

All prayers are worthwhile, even for what might seem insignificant at the time, so praying for that house.... . I went to a Eucharist at lunchtime today, and we had the burning bush reading

frAKKINPannikin - thank you for your prayer, that means more than you could possible know!

Praying Sooz for clarity and love to fill your marriage. 25 years is a long time.

Prayers for you all, for God to bless and uplift you.
