Prayer thread for summer 2009 - My grace is sufficient

DutchOma · 18/06/2009 13:24

My grace is sufficient for you 2Cor 12:9
and
When I am weak then I am strong 2Cor 12:10

Reading through last month's prayer request I came across the first text quoted by M44 and it brought the second one to mind.
When I am weak.....when I cry out to the Lord to my sisters to please pray for me, when life is hard....then I am strong.
I counted more than 20 names in last month's prayerlist, more than 30 when I counted the names Dippy had mentioned at the beginning of her update, so I will only mention a few names here.

We pray for Anna and Findlay, where real miracles of the Lord are needed.
For M44's mother-in-law in hospital
For Weegiemum that the Lord may uphold her as only He can. For Marc and Suzanne on their wedding day.
For Boilerwoman that she may take her strength from the Lord.
For Jentlydoesit and her DP that God may bring good into a difficult situation. Giving thanks for the new job.
For Swaliswan and dd2.
For Onlyjoking in this season of remembrances and for the children who are suffering more now than a year ago.
For Clockface with exciting changes to come.

And at this stage, sisters, I call you together to prayer for one another.
You know who you are - beloved of the Lord.

Praying Fourarms. What an awful shock for you all. May you all know God's presence and feel Him carrying you through this time.

MaryBS · 26/08/2009 15:46

FourArms, something similar happened to my BIL, thank God he is still in remission. He fell at work, and collapsed on a printing press, his collapse caused by the tumour, but causing severe injuries by falling into the press. Praying that all goes well.

Oopsa, praying for those bereaved, yourself included.

I'm nowhere near Southampton, unfortunately, so no chance of a meetup.

Praying for all in this group, whether regular or occasional, that God may bless us all and support us in our support for each other.

If it wasn't B's baptism on sunday, I'd have to arrange to meet you, MJIM! Are you getting the train here? I assume that your DS likes Lazytown! I've heard other mums on the bus saying that it's been really good. Praying for N.

B isn't very well. She's very hoarse and clearly has a nasty sore throat. Yesterday she cried inconsolably for 45+ minutes and I was getting really worried. Thankfully the community nurse was due to visit and she helped me get some calpol into B and got her off to sleep. Last night B slept from 9pm until 7am! I think it's because she's ill but it was nice anyway. Unfortunately, her sister got up twice wanting the potty but not quite making it in time.

We're off to the hospital this afternoon for B's hip check. For some reason I hate going more when it's every other week than when it was every week.

weegiemum · 27/08/2009 07:36

Hi ladies, have not been about much.

But it is dd2's hopefully final hip check today and she should be discharged - if not it is surgery ....

She's so excited and we are going to gt a 'big girl' scooter on the way home if the news is good!

I hardly slept - I'm terrified about it.

positiveattitudeonly · 27/08/2009 08:00

Just typed a long post and it disappeared! GGrrrr!!

Weegiemum - prayers for you and Dd today. Praying that all goes well and you can get the scooter!

SS - prayers for your poorly dc. I am impressed she slept so well and hope the sleep had a good healing affect. Praying for good hips news too!

Prayers for all the poorly dc's here.

4Arms - prayers for your famiy. How are things going? Please keep us informed.

GCSE results here! GULP Either going to be really good day, or rubbish! I will let you know how we get on WHEN DD2 eventually drags herself out of bed! I am pacing the room like a tiger! DD2 not too sure what she wants to do as regards education for next year (starting next Wednesday) so a descision has to be made after these results.
Could also find out which school DD3 is going to be going back to today. OH big day!!

Off before I waffle any more. Prayers for all

stickyj · 27/08/2009 08:22

Hi Folks

I'd like to ask everyone to pray for a little boy called Henry, who's having a kidney transplant on September 3rd. He's only 3 and has a twin sister, who's coping as well as she can. Please pray for him, his sister, his Mum and Dad and lastly, his wonderful Grandpa, who is giving Henry his kidney.

Many thanks...xx

Swaliswan · 27/08/2009 09:05

Wow, such a big day for people today. Praying for the hosp appt WM. What is it with hip appointments being on a thursday?! And PAO, I feel quite nervous for your DD! Make sure that you come back ASAP and let us know the outcome.

Stickyj, praying for Henry and his family.

Praying for all requests listed here...

Am going to "eek", have just ordered myself a cassock-alb and reader scarf. Just hope the measurements are right, as I won't find out for 4-6 weeks!

DutchOma · 27/08/2009 16:14

Oh Mary, that must make it sound very real. Plans are being laid this end for the big day.

Oh brilliant, I'm glad you're coming! Anyone else???

amberlight · 27/08/2009 16:55

Prayers continuing for everyone here.

Prayers of praise from me for DS's nine GCSE passes today!!!!!!!! (Not bad for a very dyslexic lad who was forecast to only get a fraction of those by his old school)

positiveattitudeonly · 27/08/2009 18:27

Well done to amberlight's DS. It is so much harder for dyslexics he, has done amazingly well.

Really proud mummy here. DD2 (the brightest of the family) has got 8 A & A*, 3 Bs, 2 Cs.

Also had good news about DD3's education starting year 11 on the 7th. It does appear that she will be able to go to the specialist unit she wants to go to. She has been ill for a year and had no schooling, is very dyslexic and dyspraxic, so going to be really tough for her to go back.

many answers to prayer!! A good day!!!

notsofarnow · 27/08/2009 21:30

Hi all just thought I would say hello not been around again for a while. Have tried catching up but ummm new names poss name changers i don't know anymore but can pray anyway.

Notquitegrownup · 27/08/2009 22:41

Hi NSFN - I've not growed up yet, so am still the same name!

Flying by and now off to bed ZZzzzzz

God bless all.

DutchOma · 28/08/2009 08:09

Congratulations to all clever GCSE victors. So pleased for the education possibility for dd3's news of the special school.

NSFN: I think we really have some NEW people to share with us and pray for, which is just wonderful.

Giving thanks for all those LOs who received their results - I can still remember the days of opening the envelope (just!) and know it is really nerve wracking.

Am praying for all those LOs who are poorly at the moment, and will be starting and starting back at school in the next few weeks. Personally Foxy Manor cannot wait for DD1 to start back!

We have had several very bad days, but crucially, I have dealt with them, without reducing to tears in the eveings. A small step forward I feel.

Please pray that we hear regarding completion date by the end of today. After being told a complete untruth by the solicitor on Monday, I made a complaint to the estate agent who recommended them, and suddenly (and oh so suprisingly) things are moving and we are on the brink of exchanging. That was Wednesday. We are still on the brink of exchanging, and our vendors can't do a Friday completion. So we have been asked if the 7th is ok. Mondays are bad (not to mention its just over a week away!) so we have asked if they could do the Thursday. Please pray that they can, and we can get a removals company at that short notice, and, and, and.............

Thank you ladies. Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers, that you and those who you love are surrounded by the love, peace and joy for the Lord. Hope its as sunny where you are. x

notsofarnow · 29/08/2009 08:47

wow its sunny here i thought the BH was going to be a washout. Just need to summon up the energy to get a shower and get this lot organised.

MaryBS · 29/08/2009 09:10

Can we pray for TrinityRhino and family? See here:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/bereavement/815775-I-have-been-asked-to-let-you-all-know-some

Praying your move gets sorted LTSF. You may find that movers are crying out for work, and get a company really quickly. Have you tried sounding out a few? Say you are not sure of the exact date, but it might be one of these? That's what we did, then we had some idea of what would/wouldn't work.

Praying for all who need our prayer, and for all your intentions.

Today at the Cathedral we were asked to pray for those who suffer persecution for their beliefs. With that in mind, can we all remember Peter in our prayers? That God protects him, and keeps him safe, and if it is his will, he is granted asylum?
