Christian Prayer Thread:- God of all faithfulness - from the old into the new

DutchOma · 31/12/2008 13:06

The Dippy household is still full of colds and pressure, so I thought it would be good to have a new prayer thread just on the last day of the old year, looking forward to the new.

There are three prayer needs that I think need flagging up:-

David and Fiona Fulton, with their children Iona and Luke and adopted baby Elizabeth. They are missionaries in the Gambia and have been jailed for a year in a very tough prison. here. Only a mighty God can deal with a tough problem by way of a mighty miracle. We need to pray.

Then there is the family of Emily May Hughes, known to NotSoFarNow who was killed because her father dropped a television on her head and she died. here. The horror of such an accident is too much to contemplate. We need to pray.

The third prayer request comes from Weeteeny who posted on a different thread: Dear God, if you exist and I believe you do, then please help my friend tonight. This is a young mother of children aged 14 and 12 who is in hospital with an infection that is not very responsive to antibiotics. There is no recent update. here. We need to pray.

These are the three prayer requests that I think are the most important just at the moment.

But there are a lot of us that are struggling with problems that are not too small for our God to consider and care about.
Mary, with sickness in the family and ongoing concern about her parents-in-law. Giving thanks for the release of P.
Amber with difficulties in getting the help she needs.
Swaliswan needing a special light bulb.
FAQ struggling with family relationships.
RevJusta, coming to terms with an early miscarriage.
Zipadisuzy with poorly children.

And some of us struggle with issues of faith:- Hullygully, who feels like the black sheep; be assured that especially the black sheep are much loved by God.
Trickcyclist who started a thread: I want a religion - who will have me. here

Let us continue to care for one another, to pray for one another and to praise God for His blessings in the year just gone by and in the year to come.

Good evening ladies, am praying for you all - usually at about 3am when O wakes up for feeding

Am very tired today, think 6 months of interrupted sleep must be taking its toll. Please will you join me in praying that Oliver will start sleeping through the night v. soon?

DutchOma · 13/02/2009 21:03

Sleep well CC.

BouncingTurtle, he just has to be absolutely sick, but only God can judge him justly.

lol - I'll let others pray that CC. I'm still waiting for ds2 to sleep through at 5.5 yrs!! (3am is a nice time to pray though, isn't it?!)

And I won't be around this weekend, so Happy Birthday for Sunday!

BouncingTurtle · 13/02/2009 21:11

Hooray for Naomi!! God is good!

DutchOma - I heard on the news that his lawyer was saying he was mentally ill. It really is absolutely terrible though, apparently there were walls of flame travelling upto 80mph, people just didn't stand a chance

Amber - how frustrating for you and your DH. I pray that you get those tests done soon on your DH.

BouncingTurtle · 13/02/2009 21:16

Darn, my internet connection went on the fritz hence the double post!

CC - 13.5mo of interrupted sleep here... that's not including the last 3-4 months of pgcy either

So I wouldn't mind some prayers for Daniel to sleep through the night some time soon!!

MaryBSnowing · 13/02/2009 21:25

Amber's DH has come round from his op - results tomorrow, so prayers needed please.

amber32002 · 14/02/2009 06:25

Prayers continuing for everyone on here. I always read through each day.
So glad dh is still alive. It's Valentine's day and he's in hospital miles and miles away and we're finding out news about how our lives are going to be from this point onwards today. We so need prayers that it'll be good news and not a big operation or a year of heck...

CaptainDippy · 14/02/2009 07:27

Praising he is still here too amber xx Continuing to pray for his recovery. Guessing you'll be seeing him today!!? Hope it is a good visit sweetheart

Prayers for sleeping babies! DD1 and DD3 are playing together downstairs, so cute DD2 still sleeping, hoping she is ok when she wakes up; but have a feeling she is a bit of a poorly bunny

PandaG · 14/02/2009 09:46

morning all. I joined the 3 a.m praying gang this morning. couldn't get back to sleep so thought pray till I do. Still get the feeling I not doing it right though. I know that is the devil doing his utmost to distract me but hey ho.

Praying for good Sundays for all of us today.

SamsMama · 15/02/2009 08:43

I pray for you all...and for more faith for myself. Struggling!

MaryBSnowing · 15/02/2009 09:34

NSFN, you are praying, that is what matters. God will tell you if you are doing it wrong, but I am sure he is just happy if you are praying.

I've heard from Amber, who still needs your prayers, together with her husband. They are repeating the tests they did on Friday on Monday, so this means another operation for him under a general anaesthetic, and more uncertainty and worry for Amber.

As Jesus said to the disciples when he walked on the sea "Take heart, it is I, do not be afraid".

PeachyHasABrokenKeyboardSorry · 15/02/2009 11:32

Have also heard fromAmber and will be taking some time to think and pray for her family today, God be with you Amber.

If anyone has a spare prayer could they briefly ask that God is with me as I start volunteering as an RE Assistant in school soon- it might answer my question as to whether I ams uited to the role. I wanted to teach Senior but something keeps pulling me to Primary so I need to listen and be guided.

amber32002 · 15/02/2009 19:49

Thanks muchly for the prayers. Praise from me for the kind nurse today who helped me through a panicky bit and explained a lot more to me. Meeting with doctors tomorrow, and main test now Tuesday for him, we hear. If he can make it to the end of the week, his chances may be much better.

DutchOma · 15/02/2009 20:38

Keeping on in prayer. Prayers for you to sleep as well.

Praying for you Amber and for you all. Please can you add DS2 to your prayers? He is going for a brain and sinus scan this afternoon as he has persistent unexplained headaches. I am frantic but praying and remembering how 'God is Good'. Love and light to you all this week. Thank you
