Christian Prayer Thread:- God of all faithfulness - from the old into the new

The Dippy household is still full of colds and pressure, so I thought it would be good to have a new prayer thread just on the last day of the old year, looking forward to the new.

There are three prayer needs that I think need flagging up:-

David and Fiona Fulton, with their children Iona and Luke and adopted baby Elizabeth. They are missionaries in the Gambia and have been jailed for a year in a very tough prison. here. Only a mighty God can deal with a tough problem by way of a mighty miracle. We need to pray.

Then there is the family of Emily May Hughes, known to NotSoFarNow who was killed because her father dropped a television on her head and she died. here. The horror of such an accident is too much to contemplate. We need to pray.

The third prayer request comes from Weeteeny who posted on a different thread: Dear God, if you exist and I believe you do, then please help my friend tonight. This is a young mother of children aged 14 and 12 who is in hospital with an infection that is not very responsive to antibiotics. There is no recent update. here. We need to pray.

These are the three prayer requests that I think are the most important just at the moment.

But there are a lot of us that are struggling with problems that are not too small for our God to consider and care about.
Mary, with sickness in the family and ongoing concern about her parents-in-law. Giving thanks for the release of P.
Amber with difficulties in getting the help she needs.
Swaliswan needing a special light bulb.
FAQ struggling with family relationships.
RevJusta, coming to terms with an early miscarriage.
Zipadisuzy with poorly children.

And some of us struggle with issues of faith:- Hullygully, who feels like the black sheep; be assured that especially the black sheep are much loved by God.
Trickcyclist who started a thread: I want a religion - who will have me. here

Let us continue to care for one another, to pray for one another and to praise God for His blessings in the year just gone by and in the year to come.

Praying rosbif for your son, that the scan may bring answers, not problems, and that a reason AND solution may be found for these headaches. How old is he?

Praying Amber, for your DH and for strength and support for you too. You know where I am...

Praying, Samsmama for help with your faith. It says in todays reflection in my book of reflections that the lifeguard can only save the drowning person when he/she stops struggling and allows him/herself to be rescued. Submit yourself to God's care and allow him to rescue you. I've have gradually learned to do this myself, although its hard NOT to struggle!

BouncingTurtle · 16/02/2009 07:37

Prayers for rosbif's ds and amber and her dh.

PandaG · 16/02/2009 10:35

praying for you and DH Amber, and echoing Mary's prayers for Rosbif's DS

Hello Samsmama, praying that God will draw you close to him and wrap you in his arms of love.

Prayers for all who are struggling with at home with DC at half term, that all would be rested and ready for school again.

pray for me and DH too please, we had, not a row but a miscommunication last night. I got really upset and am still hurting now. DH not intentionally being hurtful but it is all tied up with how I see myself and some past hurts that are forgiven but still trip me up from time to time. I want to walk in freedom not slavery.

hello all, thank you for your kind wishes and support to me last week, I wanted to let you know that we are blessed with a beautiful healthy baby boy, who arrived last Tuesday. Not only that, but today my DH passed his Final exams after many years of study and hard work.
Thank you, like MaryBSnowing says, I will submit myself to God's care, He has blessed me and my family over and over. God bless you all. x

DutchOma · 16/02/2009 18:04

Hello very quickly, just before I go and feed O and put him to bed....got a 2nd offer on the house, slightly higher but not quite what we hoped. Please could you pray that we receive an acceptable offer soon, and can proceed to buy the house we are in love with?

Much love and prayers for you all

amber32002 · 16/02/2009 19:23

Prayers for everyone as I read through. So sorry to not have prayed enough for others these last few days, it's just been so scary.

Got dh his own room back! Hooray! Very kind lady at patient liaison helped to advocate for him on the ward so he's not in a sensory nightmare and can actually rest.

If he can make it to the weekend, he's got an excellent chance...and so far he's getting there! Continued prayers greatly appreciated.

BouncingTurtle · 16/02/2009 19:38
