Christian Prayer Thread:- God of all faithfulness - from the old into the new

The Dippy household is still full of colds and pressure, so I thought it would be good to have a new prayer thread just on the last day of the old year, looking forward to the new.

There are three prayer needs that I think need flagging up:-

David and Fiona Fulton, with their children Iona and Luke and adopted baby Elizabeth. They are missionaries in the Gambia and have been jailed for a year in a very tough prison. here. Only a mighty God can deal with a tough problem by way of a mighty miracle. We need to pray.

Then there is the family of Emily May Hughes, known to NotSoFarNow who was killed because her father dropped a television on her head and she died. here. The horror of such an accident is too much to contemplate. We need to pray.

The third prayer request comes from Weeteeny who posted on a different thread: Dear God, if you exist and I believe you do, then please help my friend tonight. This is a young mother of children aged 14 and 12 who is in hospital with an infection that is not very responsive to antibiotics. There is no recent update. here. We need to pray.

These are the three prayer requests that I think are the most important just at the moment.

But there are a lot of us that are struggling with problems that are not too small for our God to consider and care about.
Mary, with sickness in the family and ongoing concern about her parents-in-law. Giving thanks for the release of P.
Amber with difficulties in getting the help she needs.
Swaliswan needing a special light bulb.
FAQ struggling with family relationships.
RevJusta, coming to terms with an early miscarriage.
Zipadisuzy with poorly children.

And some of us struggle with issues of faith:- Hullygully, who feels like the black sheep; be assured that especially the black sheep are much loved by God.
Trickcyclist who started a thread: I want a religion - who will have me. here

Let us continue to care for one another, to pray for one another and to praise God for His blessings in the year just gone by and in the year to come.

CCsbdayisthedayaftervalentines · 11/02/2009 21:34

Praying for you all, especially Lottie, WM, Amber and dh. Lord please hold these dear people close to you.

PRAISE GOD INDEED! Dsis is still speaking to me. She came round this morning and helped me to paint the dining room. She agrees that she must go into rehab for any chance of proper recovery. She was talking about doing it in the summer. I hope and pray she will do as she promised and talk to her key worker tomorrow about trying to get this arranged asap, whilst she still has some liver function left. Dneice will come to stay with us and then we'll share the care with my mum. Thank you God. A living breathing answer to our prayers. I thought this was a hopeless situation but look what a blinder God has pulled . I feel so blessed and uplifted.

House negotiations continue....we also have another lady coming for a second viewing tomorrow!

Continuing to pray Amber and MrAmber. I am not far from the JR, so if your dh is there for long, and you would like some company/someone to sit in the canteen with for a break, or if I can be of any practical help, do let me know.

Great answer to prayer CC

Praying for all on this thread.

God bless all.

amber32002 · 12/02/2009 12:30

If only they'd put him in a hospital in easy drive of the house. Now I'm going back and forth so very many miles a day plus trying to run the business and family and everything else and I'm SO tired. I think he's going to be ok, but big tests later today. So many people have sent lovely messages of support etc but there's not a lot people can do, I think. Many many thanks for the prayers and offers of help, but my brain isn't quite able to cope with working out who could do what at the moment. As long as I can keep going, it'll be ok...
Mary has my details if people want to contact me, or I think I'm on the CAT thingy here...but other than that, just need some sleep and some good news

Prayers for everyone

Hooray for Naomi!! God is good!

DutchOma - I heard on the news that his lawyer was saying he was mentally ill. It really is absolutely terrible though, apparently there were walls of flame travelling upto 80mph, people just didn't stand a chance

Amber - how frustrating for you and your DH. I pray that you get those tests done soon on your DH.
