Hedjwitch welcome! Thanks for flying over.

Taking a quiet moment with a mug of coffee, away from currently sorting through (and hopefully!) recycling or donating stuff from several boxes of Christmas decorations would you believe! We have far too many, collected over many decades, and we no longer have a big property with lots of space. But if you bought something twenty or thirty years ago and know that you won't be able to replace it in future, what is a witch to do? 🤔Bags a comfy chair next to Hedjwitch and brings some of my favourite virtual home made flapjacks XX

BlankTimes · 09/03/2025 14:10

Flying in to claim a cushion on the cojsy new thread, many thanks Speakout

I've long been intrigued by gong baths and would love to try one.

Yesterday I had a lot of kitchen chores to do and found this helped a lot with alleviating the drudgery.
Is it along the same principles as a gong bath?

ohyesido · 09/03/2025 14:16

Not so much a witch, more of a tarot reader and advocate of synchronicity and the power of the Universe here

quirkychick · 09/03/2025 14:58

Thank you for the new thread @speakout. I look forward to your video @BlankTimes, which I'll save for a good, quiet minute.

Families are so tricky, we have had a very difficult time this year, but with both dds now no longer at home I really don't miss the family meals and all the caring. I'm really trying to rewire myself from the conditioning too.

It's a truly beautiful sunny day today, I started with some toning pilates/yoga fusion at home (still struggling with a niggling back so trying to get back to fitness slowly). We went for brunch at a favourite café and a walk by the cathedral and river. So many swans on the river, maybe 10-12 and lots of beautiful flowers: daffodils, dark purple crocus, snowdrops and the beginnings of blossom on the trees. After a busy, tricky week it's what was needed - I have another busy week coming too. I'm trying not to feel guilty or lazy for taking a rest. I'm so conditioned to be busy, especially having been a full time carer.

Craftycorvid · 09/03/2025 19:58

Hello! Grabbing a bean bag and a brew and settling in for a good old natter.

speakout · 10/03/2025 14:56

I have a hotchpotch of christmas decorations too MistyDryad ·.
Many are a little battered, but in my eyes beautiful- I have even kept all the little decorations my children made in nursery and school. I much prefer a tree to have a quirky range of decorations- far removed from the "hotel lobby" type through, bland, colour coordinated and dull in my eyes.
quirkychick your walk sounds lovely, thanks for sharing that!

BlankTimes yes- that looks similar I know that singing bowls are part of Bhuddist tradition, the bowls used in the sessions I attend are much larger and mostly made of crystal. The sound created is like nothing else- harmonics and disonence, and surprisingly loud at times.
I find it very relaxing.
Spring feels a little out of grasp today here. Overcast and cold, windy with some light squally showers not weather for a walk.
I have done a fair bit of pruning this weekend, somehow it feels wrong to cut back a tree or shrub as they take up their space, but needs to be done to make room for other less boisterous plants.
Not gardening weather today though!

Hi, can I join you?.. Spotted a lovely comfy chair next to the window (I like to watch the world go by) and I think I will feel right at home here.

quirkychick · 10/03/2025 15:08

Welcome @Raeven.

@speakout if you like crystal sound bowls, have you come across Mei-Lan Maurits? M
Beautiful voice as well

MistyDryad · 10/03/2025 15:46

Welcome @Raeven

speakout · 10/03/2025 17:14

A warm welcome Raeven and ohyesido - so glad you have joined us.

Quirkychick- no I haven't heard of her, but her voice is so beautiful- thanks for posting the link.

I have just finished the last of a rhubarb crumble. Made at a local bakery- and tastes home made. Not too sweet, and the rhubarb pieces still have a little crunch. Homely puddings make me feel so cosy inside.

Hello old friends, I haven't been in for a while, I see my favourite bean bag is still available. How is everyone?

I've been looking at the law of attraction and overall having a more positive outlook on life.

I am looking forward to catching up with everyone.

Raeven · 10/03/2025 18:11

Thank you all

Snorlax1013 · 11/03/2025 07:44

May I join in? I am new to this, sort of trying to get started. It feels right to me and I am at the doing some reading stage and trying to learn.

speakout · 11/03/2025 09:35

Of course you can join us Snorlax1013, have a comfy seat, tea is brewing.

Starting a magical path is exciting, but with so much information around it can feel a little overwhelming.
I have posted links at the top of this page of our previous chats, we talk of many things, between us we have quite a collective, and much wisdom on many magical - and life- topics.

Follow your heart and instincts, and dive right in to topics that interest you, whether tarot or tea leaves, spell work or dreamwork. Flit and fly between ideas and information, and be curious.
Books can be borrowed or bought second hand, start a grimoire if that seems interesting. Be wary of anyone claiming to be an "expert" there are some sharks in the water keen to take your money or power. There are some amazing practitioners out there, but be cautious. If your spidey senses start twitching and it feels wrong- then it probably is.
Your heart is full of wisdom.
If spellcasting interests you then know that you probably have everything you need at home to start with no need to spend a lot of money- if you have paper, candles, string, salt, kitchen herbs then armed with a little research and knowledge you are good to go.

Know also that this wonderful group considers everyone as equals. whether you have been practicing for a month or 30 years no boss, no top dog, although between us we hold vast knowledge and experience.
Don't be afraid to ask this group questions, nothing is silly or too trivial, you will be met with respect, and most of us love to share our witchy ways.

Hello sisters! Flopping on the floor with a pillow, I fell off the last thread and it's been a mad few months for me - starting to wonder if there is any other kind!

How are you all?

Gong baths have recently started in my village and I think I'd quite like to try one, though have heard they can stir big emotions and I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet.

Magical love coming your way, and I appreciate so much that I can dip in and out as life allows - this is still my favourite corner of the internet!

Snorlax1013 · 11/03/2025 15:41

@speakout thank you so much

Hedjwitch · 11/03/2025 18:01

@Snorlax...I second what Speakout just said. Everyone is welcome here. We follow many different paths and practices but all share a respect for Mother Earth and " the peace of wild things".
I am a greenwitch or hedgewitch so work alone, developing my knowledge of all things herbal and healing. I use herbs in cooking, healing and some spell work.

hilariousnamehere · 11/03/2025 20:44

@Snorlax1013 welcome, and thirding what @speakout said. We're a varied bunch but all are welcome!

speakout · 12/03/2025 16:34

Lovely to see you hilariousnamehere- I hope life is good.

I have heard of some people having strong reactions to a sound bath -unblocking emotions or triggering memories.
I have seen that in yoga classes too- indeed I have been the one crying!

My first sound bath was tagged onto an evening of other activities at a woman's circle, so was short, but I enjoyed it.
One longer sound bath seemed very physical to me, I could hear/feel sounds moving through my upper back and shoulders. This is the area I carry my stress, and felt markedly relaxed afterwards. The last couple have been very visual, bringing forth memories, images, real and imagined, but again I felt great release and slept like a log.

If Blanktimes is around I would love to know if you have come across the Natufian culture ? Existing in the Lavant 15000 - 12000 BC and straddled the paleolithic to neolithic. Utterly fascinating!

ISaySteadyOn · 12/03/2025 19:21

Thanks for the new thread @speakout . I have been doing some planting of herbs and it made me happy to see how many worms my homemade compost had in it.

I've been needing a bit of that as the DC have all been having hard times for various reasons and been using me as a bit of an emotional punching bag.

I would like to learn more about using plants in healing. One doesn't need a distillery or anything, does one @Hedjwitch ?
