Ostara Blessings dear sisters. I hope this time brings fresh energy, renewal and bright openings to love and positive change.
I think the actual point of equinox was yesterday, but this Oestre energy covers a week or two for me, as the Earth unfolds, and many of us celebrate Easter too.
These equinox marks the fastest rate of change, and for any other maths or science lovers amongst us is the top of a sine curve, the greatest rate of change.
Life has been a little quieter of late- and that is very welcome, one of my women's circle places has just released dates for the forthcoming year, for both new and full moon times.
I will sit with a tea and my diary later today and make some bookings for the coming months. They are always full with waiting lists closer to the event, and it is good to have these to look forward to things like this.

Stars blessings sisters. I’m enjoying seeing the signs of spring that are appearing. Suddenly, there are daffodils everywhere and my neighbour’s beautiful magnolia tree is about to burst into bloom. Yesterday was gorgeous, 18 degrees here in the south! Colder today though.

Thank you for the healing energy. My arm is healing well, it’s not really stopping me from doing anything other than play sport. I can’t quite straighten it but no pain thankfully.

@Queenrollosending healing for your friend, I hope her surgery went well. And also for your back. Glad you hear you are feeling mentally.

@speakout pleased to hear life has quietened down for you. Your events sound good. I’ve not been to anything for a long time, life has taken me in different directions. I’m looking forward to getting back to yoga again as soon as I can.

quirkychick · 22/03/2025 09:46

@VioletCharlotte I'm glad your arm is healing well. It certainly is feeling like spring here too. Blue skies, spring flowers, birds, some blossom.

I've also booked a few events soon. I'm still not back to full vinyasa yoga and have some physio exercises (most of which are yoga poses). But have found a gentle yoga class with only a few of us, so it's quite bespoke. Next weekend there's a Feelgood Hub, which usually has taster workshops and a yogic singing workshop. I've also booked myself on a Sister Moon Beltaine workshop at the end of April run by one of the yoga teachers.

I really feel the importance of balance at the moment, probably influenced by the equinox.

VioletCharlotte · 23/03/2025 19:21

How is your back doing @quirkychick? Gentle yoga sounds ideal and the events should be brilliant. I did an online Pilates class yesterday, with some modifications for my arm, going to attempt a mat class at the studio next week.

It’s pouring with rain here tonight, but I feel quite cosy and content being indoors. This morning was lovely so made the most of it and enjoyed a long walk with a friend around a lake.

if anyone is lighting a candle this evening, I would be really grateful if you could send some positive energy to DS as he is having 4 wisdom teeth removed tomorrow Confused They do need to come out as they’ve been giving him no end of trouble for some time, but I think he’ll be bruised and sore for a few days.

quirkychick · 23/03/2025 19:46

@VioletCharlotte I am lighting a candle for your ds and sending healing thoughts. I had a wisdom tooth out at the end of lockdown - very necessary but not pleasant! My back is a lot better, thank you. I had sore hips, but the yoga teacher at the gentle yoga class was brilliant and they've felt better ever since. I've been studiously doing the physio exercises, which are mostly yoga-based. I'm glad your elbow's starting to heal.

I've had a tumultuous week, with an incident with dd2's school transport, dp full of a virus and we've uncharacteristically argued a lot over the family situation. It did result in us having a good discussion afterwards but I'm hoping for a smoother week this week.

quirkychick · 23/03/2025 19:51

@speakout thank you for the Molly Roberts recommendation, I really enjoyed her video on decorating for Ostara, so great to see creativity and repurposing. I will try to catch some more.

Happy mothers fday to those who celebrate it.
For me it is just another manifestation of this growing time around the equinox, Oestara and I am all for any festivity that celebrates womanhood.
I'm not so keen on all the tat surrounding the day, or all the Hallmark sugar coating, my mother attends a day centre today, and my DD is working in another city at a dance competition.

I am having a slightly longer start to my day today, I have some new geranium oil, and new body butter to thank my skin for doing such an amazing job.
Then a yoga workshop at a 15th century listing building further along the coast- indeed was the home of a Lord Seton who ignited the witch burnings in Scotland which lasted 175 years.
The house and gardens are owned by the National trust, the studio- called the willow room faces the old and sympathetically maintained gardens, I take pleasure in being with 20 other women raising energy, claiming space and healing those who were hurt. There is also a cafe and exhibition space- at the moment there is an exhibition of The Fishwives in that area calle "Wha Wid Be A Fish Wife?" which celebrates their strength, resourcefulness and courage., so I will arrive a little early to have a look around. Full circle in some ways, some of you may remember one of my new male yoga teachers seeking to calm our chatter before a class called us "gossiping fishwives" in a very loud voice. I saw red, took great exception to his slur and called him out on his misogyny. in front of a full class. He was mortified and tried to admonish me a few days later in private- but I was having none of it. That was a year ago, I still attend his classes because technically he is a good teacher, but to this day he won't make eye contact with me.
All very juvenile, on his part, but I am not responsible for his discomfort!!

After yoga I will have lunch with a dear friend who is also attending the class, the nearest beach is one brimming with hagstones.

Have a great day sisters!

Good wonderful morning @speakout
and everyone else!

I am so pleased to find this thread. I’m sitting in bed, OH has gone down to make me a cup of tea and I will just spend a short while here reading through past threads and getting to know everyone!

Then I will get up do a short workout and then a few sun salutation flows, light a candle, say howdy to the ancestors and the rest of the day will show itself. Although I do want to get on with planting seeds for herbs.

A quiet Mother’s Day for me. Call my DM, DD at home with her lovely family. Took the DGC out yesterday. Today me, my OH and the dog!

Please light a candle for the guys over at Aluna Elixir, my local shop of spirituality, magic and love! Their DM is terminal and they are with her guiding her on this next path of life. Love to them xxx

Have a wonderful day today everyone. Peace,
love and Harmony!

Hedjwitch · 30/03/2025 09:27

Good morning all. My first mothers' day without mother.Almost a year since she crossed over. Don't know what to do with myself really.

quirkychick · 30/03/2025 09:31

Happy Mother's Day, everyone. We are going to visit dd2 at her home, which I'm looking forward to.

I was supposed to go to a Kirtan (yogic singing) workshop today, but it was cancelled due to Mother's Day/low numbers.

Yesterday, we met up with friends for coffee and I went to the monthly Feelgood Hub, which has various taster workshops. The first was writing, ran by a lovely woman I met last time and the second was Dreamsong, which was a guided relaxation with beautiful singing and I went into a very deep state of relaxation. I then slept really solidly last night, so feel refreshed instead of troubled by the clock change.

I have lit some candles for your friends @Iammatrix done some Hatha Yoga and Headspace meditation. I'm about to get ready and we're going out for brunch. It's been a busy, social weekend - which I enjoy.

Iammatrix · 30/03/2025 09:35

Good morning @Hedjwitch!

You’re missing your DM, today of all days and I guess everyday. Why don’t you make a little shrine for her? A lovely photo, a candle and something of hers in a small special place and say ‘hi mum, missing you’, that’s what I do. Missing my DS and DG!

Iammatrix · 30/03/2025 09:43

Good morning @quirkychick!

Thank you! Have a lovely, busy, social day with your family x

VioletCharlotte · 30/03/2025 13:40

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful women on this thread. Like @speakout I don’t like the hype around the day created by the card and gift industry, but it’s an opportunity to reflect on how many amazing women there are in the world. Occasions and special days can trigger all sorts of emotions and stir past traumas, so I’m sending loving energy to @Hedjwitchand anyone who needs it.

My DM is on holiday so won’t be seeing her today. I’ve had a card from DS1 and a phone-call and flowers from DS2. Looking forward to a quiet day. The sun is shining so I might take myself out for a walk later.

@Iammatrix I will light a candle for your friend this evening

hilariousnamehere · 30/03/2025 23:57

Happy Mother's Day, lovelies - and sending extra hugs for you @Hedjwitch 💙

@speakout your yoga situation made me smile - absolutely his discomfort is not your problem!

I had a beautiful Ostara celebration while away on my annual writing retreat, but for the first time (it's our fourth trip) felt really out of sync with everyone all week so had a few tearful moments and am still trying to work out what was wrong :( I normally find friendships very flowing and easy so it has startled me. And then when I got home I lit a candle to cleanse negativity and the wind blew the box lid onto it and squashed it flat, which I am hoping wasn't a sign of anything and was just daft weather 🤣

Acquired a beautiful new oracle deck this week which I'm really enjoying using daily - I'd got out of the habit and I had been using tarot, but find my favourite oracle decks a bit more immediate when things are manic as they often are.

I'm sure we have talked tarot/oracle before as I'm sure I got my Everyday Witch decks not long after finding this thread, but do any of you read for others? People sometimes ask me but I much prefer using them just for my own purposes, then sometimes feel bad for saying no.

Hedjwitch · 31/03/2025 19:50

Thank you. I went to her memorial bench set amongst silver birches on a local nature reserve. Had a little cry and told her I missed her. The wind sighing in the trees sounded as if she was talking to me. I don't think we can post videos on here or I would show you..

quirkychick · 31/03/2025 20:37

@Hedjwitch that's so beautiful, I can just imagine how that sounded. What a wonderful way to remember your mum. These occasions can be poignant reminders for us. My own relationship has been strained with my mum and I feel the need to reach out and try to make some peace with her.

Coincidentally, I went for a walk today down a different, quite local street which had beautiful, silver birch trees. I often walk a local circuit and decided to walk down a parallel road. I then found a converted windmill amongst some flats and houses that I didn't even know was there - I've lived here 20+ yrs! All in the spirit of trying something new and finding joy in things around me.

Iammatrix · 31/03/2025 22:43

@Hedjwitch, thank you for sharing this photograph of your special place. To have your mother’s memorial bench there amongst the silver birches, says so much about both yours and her connection to earth magic.

I know the quiet presence ( as if she was talking to you), that you wanted to share by video, of the sound of the wind sighing in the trees.

FizzingAda · 01/04/2025 08:54

@Hedjwitch I scattered my mum's ashes around some silver birches, my special tree - having a bench there is lovey for you to sit and remember 💐

Hedjwitch · 01/04/2025 12:31

Thank you sisters. Whst a wonderfully compassionate place this is.

Can any of you light a candle and send blessings to my friend, Nicky, her 18 yr old daughter died in her sleep after a struggle with drugs. Thank you.

Hedjwitch · 02/04/2025 20:49

Oh goodness. Thoughts with Nicky and her daughter.

Iammatrix · 02/04/2025 21:40

So, so sad! I’m going up to light a blue candle for emotional support. Sorry for Nicky’s loss!

quirkychick · 03/04/2025 08:16

Thank you, so much for your kind thoughts and blessings. It is a horrible shock, we thought she had moved past the drugs and started a new life overseas. She went to school with my dd1, they were friends.
