Non-Christians - what do you know about Jesus ?

Atheists, agnostics, maybe raised as a Christian’s but not that into it…
I am just interested to see what ideas you have about Jesus. I was talking about it to my dad the other day and I said that I felt that a lot of people think Jesus is a made up fairytale, they don’t realise he is an actual historical figure.

@Babybirdmum you're absolutely right. Some of the Titanic survivors remembered different things. Some people are sure they saw Elvis after he was supposed to have died. Some people swear that they've seen the Loch Ness Monster. Some people were sure that Joseph Smith really did translate the Golden Plates. And all those are first-person reports yet these eye-witness reports are unreliable to say the least.

The gospels aren't even eye-witness accounts. They are, at best, hearsay. They're stories passed from person to person until they were cobbled together by unknown authors. If we can't trust eye-witness accounts from Titanic survivors, why should we trust the gospels?
